I hate cigarettes and wish I could quit those. At least with alcohol, once you're off it you don't get cravings like you do for cigarettes. CaptainStrong posted... I live with my mom but I still pay $400 rent, but I still set aside $200 of my $400 paycheck to pay off my car. After my car's paid off I'll just put $200 into a savings account weekly. I always get the best prices on things though. My PC costs $900 and the motherboard was $40. That's money I can spend on other things. I never buy games that aren't on sale. Several things I use daily are just straight up broken and I just deal with it. The phone I'm using now is literally wrapped in saran wrap so the broken glass doesn't fall off. --- |

If morality was logically consistent (it isn't) we would measure how self aware something is and treat it with exactly that much respect, from rock to human. Killing something like a cow? An intelligent creature. Pretty comparable to killing a human. But then I eat cows, which means in my eyes I commit a murder pretty much every day, because like the rest of you, I'm petty and am willing to kill as long as it means I get my burger. I just go without the cognitive dissonance and look at it with a more nihilistic view, figuring I would have done it anyway and might as well be honest. If there were really zero consequences to anyone's actions, we would all be horrible psychopaths. If there was no punishment, and no negative emotions to go with it (feeling guilty, relating to the victim and feeling it secondhand). That is what I see when people eat beef and pork. --- |

It's just human nature to not relate to your meat when you're eating something that's not a human. When you do that people just look for holes in your logic and intentionally reinforce their views because you were a dick. Veganism has the potential to really take off if they start putting a positive spin on it. "It's so healthy", "I feel so much better", "I'm helping the environment", "you're not a bad person for eating meat, because that's just the society you live it". Maybe an app that helps people organize their diets' nutrition so people don't get sick after trying veganism and giving up. Respecting people who just cut their meat intake in half, because two of those people make one full vegan. It doesn't need to happen overnight. I'm sure we all know we eat too much meat for our health. --- |
