I think you're probably right, but I also think here's this narrative being pushed around that if Putin takes Ukraine, it's the equivalent of letting Hitler take France and that Putin will expand like Hitler did.
It's a bad narrative because HItler had global ambitions, while Putin likely only wants countries that were part of the Soviet Union, but the fact that this is being thrown around means people ARE willing to start WW3 because they think Putin is the next Hitler.

Wars have started over less... the invasion of a US ally is not a bad start.

Proof of stake crypto takes no real resources and will hopefully kill off the demand for shitty proof of work (GPU mined) coins.

There's a lot of shit in crypto and it will keep going on until they figure it out. NFTs are literally URLs to images being sold for millions with no real value. There are a million shit coins that serve no purpose other than to make the creators rich. Sadly it will only end when the scammed run out of money to be scammed with.

What is the light at the end of crypto's tunnel? I see it being a useful method of paying people for crowd hosting and supplying third world countries with a stable currency. I see NFTs being a way to resell DLC outside of the developer's control. I don't see 5000, 50, or even 5 different kinds of crypto being useful in the future. We don't have 8 versions of the dollar.

I think there is a legitimate case in favor of it.

Take Hearthstone, a game where you can buy cards that you don't own and can't trade. If nothing else changed about that game, but the cards were nfts, where you can buy a pack for a constant $5 or whatever and sell them individually, it would be objectively better.

The flaw is this, that wouldn't be a system designed for maximizing profit, so it would be abused and the designers would inevitably be selling cards for $10k because a pyramid scheme is one step away.

Haha, I definitely don't resent that you didn't do more, if that's what you're getting at. I liked seeing how you worked with it. Up until that point I had never gotten any feedback on anything I'd written, so the fact that you didn't call it a rat's nest gave me some confidence. There's never enough time for a coder, there's always some cool project we wish we had time for or wish we could come back to.

My data analysis is like data science, and it's from a financial investment perspective, so I get to come up with a hypothesis and test it, I get full creative control. So really I just love doing it. Part of it is getting educated on official analysis methods, that's what I really liked. I love how in coding, the fact that no matter how hard the problem is there's never been a case where I couldn't do anything to fix it. You never get that control in real life.

Yup, it's a startup crypto-currency company, so there's that. I do data analysis as well as data scraping. What I do is secret, but if you remember the last PMs I sent you it's pretty much very related to that.

Even if it doesn't work out, this should be enough to get me in the right direction of never working in a grocery store again. My current boss will make sure he gets me into his employer if it goes downhill. I remember the Google code links you sent me that one time, and I appreciate that. At that same time I was getting involved with this startup.

Yeah Linux is both amazing and shitty at the same time.

On the bright side it's just more reliable and better built, on the downside there are a lot of weird things, ctrl+c not working in the terminal is one of them for sure.

I came back for three seconds after a year and already got into an argument, so I'm in a pretty immensely rotten mood now, but other than that I'm quitting my retail job and getting into doing something I love and that I'll get paid well for.

I logged in to this board after 1 year gone from this board just to say I thought this movie was so bad it put me in a dissociative state, it was everything I hate in a movie. I walked out and felt like I was just bringing everyone else down by expressing how much I hated it.

The humor was written by 14 year old girls or something, the story didn't make any bit of sense. Going by Occam's razor, if I was Tom Holland Spider-man, having lived through it I would sooner believe that I had a schizophrenic break from reality and seek help immediately. That's not a joke, I'm 100% serious, that's how unbelievable the story was to me. Actually that's a pretty good way to explain the story of the MCU, a basket of schizophrenia.

So yeah, I'll leave the movies up to MCU fans from now on who like this stuff, because if I watch this shit I'm going to get really angry. I'm not going to watch any more floppy ass CGI characters fly around the screen and pretend to be involved or pretend I haven't seen every trope being thrown up on the screen before.
