- I'm super frustrated with the Game of Thrones social media presence. They're now doing #ThronesThrowback, which referred to Arya's "It's not you" from S1 and with Nymeria and now with Jon and Tormund and Mance reference. How dumb must you think your audience is (or how clever you are) to be like "HEY GUYS THIS THING FROM THE SCRIPT REFERENCES THIS OTHER THING WE MENTIONED BEFORE!"

I mean its a super popular show and there are a lot of far more casual viewers. I didn't get the Arya thing the first time, I thought she literally meant that it wasn't Nymeria >_>. I don't remember every line from S1. It's very specific.

It is a bit forced and rushed. Ideally you want them being surrounded as the ending to the episode or something.

But it was still great and entertaining fun.


Re Benjen, I thought he did that because he didn't want to go back with Jon. Either he wanted to die, or he knew Jon would return to East-watch and Benjen wouldn't be able to go for the same reason he couldn't accompany Bran before. And it'd take too long to explain that.

But that does get a bit into headcanon territory, so...yeah possibly could have been handled better

Do you not think that his wisecracking worked better when held up against Cersei and Tywin? He's now with a leader he actuslly likes and believes in. He doesn't have Cersei's incest to joke about or Joffrey to embarrass to Bronn to banter with. I feel like that situation, where he was the outcast and got to have all these scenes that had an innate conflict suited his character better.

Maybe the writing has declined, but with Tyrion I definitely think he's just not in a position to do the stuff that originally made him so popular. He used to be a loveable rogue, now he's more straight-laced.

Yeah for all the faults you might or might not have with it, playing it continuously through 3 games with your choices altering stuff was really cool. Could have done more in terms of your choices having an impact but that's a production issue and I'm more than satisfied with what we got

I thought s6 Tyrion was pretty decent

This season he's second fiddle - to someone he actually wants to be second fiddle to, though. So he's not really wisecracking or rebelling and that was when he was best - pushing back against his father, against Cersei, plotting from within KL.

I'm not gonna say the writing is better or worse, but Tyrion is down to circumstance more than writing I think.

I was having coffee at a place the other day, and was on the way back from the bathroom when a guy walking by in the street outside started ranting to me through the window about the recently vacated table still having empty cups on it. He went on for like 2 straight minutes glaring at me as he spoke without blinking. I just stared at him and then said "uh I don't work here" but he ignored me and pointed to a sticker on the window which had the cafe's hygiene rating on it and said he'd get it lowered from a 4 to a 3.

That was a weird time.
