It keeps trying to turn real words I types correctly into different words. I'm talking about awesome dinosaur LADLES over here, not awesome dinosaur LADIES...yet auto-correct disagrees (oh, how I wish it was true though).

Been getting tired of this lately, but now I'm about to turn the feature off. Turning "7th" into "17th"...I just don't get why it would do it. It's a new phone too so it's not like off it's going by past things I once said.

This is still moderately better than my last phone that would auto-correct words into emojis, but still. Auto-correct needs to auto-chill to hell out.

Mine always changes common words into words I never use. And I can't even delete them!

Good example is what. It always autocorrects to Whay.

My phone did however correct duck into fuck, so I had to give it props for that.

I disabled autocorrect (and suggested word completion) a month or two in to my first smartphone. Never looked back.

I just reread my opening post and am confident I didn't make that many mistakea. It catches some of my mistakes (grt into get, sure), but I've not been making some of those silly ones.

Happens to me with a bunch of words

that becomes thst
but becomes byt or bit

So annoying

But Harrich's problem of legit words being replaced by others also happens. Very irritating.

Like, things would be a lot better if they kept a really simple rule: don't replace words. If it's already a word, let it be.

It was just hilariously unacceptable and useless and I can't imagine anyone NOT turning it off

I don't think my current phone has ever spelled "the" correctly. And it changes things oddly all the time, plus has issues with simply starting with the correct letter sometimes.

My old phone didn't do this. Why can't I have the text/swype/keyboard/whatever-it-is that my old phone had?

My autocorrect generally doesn't fuck up the grammar of words like "its" vs "it's", and I've managed to get it to accept most of the weird specific crap that it wouldn't otherwise recognize. It's pretty good at not changing words that are actually words, though for some reason it insists on capitalizing "fuck".
