I actually want them to go further. Roode has debuted but he's not in a program so him not working TV is easy. They should even be taking people in active feuds and giving them a night off from SD and especially Raw. PPVs are brand-exclusive and the builds are longer now so they can afford it.

Del Rio and Ziggler used to have very good chemistry but had wrestled a dozen times (recently) even before they started feuding. It was fucking stupid. That's what you risk. Brand split has helped but they should be doing more to prevent that saturation. It's the number one reason I get bored of the product. Gimmicks all have a shelf life and that shelf life gets exhausted very quickly sometimes.

The first attempt was one of the most embarrassing failures of all time given that it was immediately after the "I won the championship by tricking you all into believing I was Rad Link 5" incident where I tricked you all into believing I was Rad Link 5, and became one of the UCA's most hated ever competitors.

So don't fly that flag too high.

Over 6 years I have been consistent and been able to constantly raise and re-raise my level to compete with the best. I am the model of constant improvement. That's why I have so many title reigns, and so many days. Long reigns just tell me that the competition in that particular division wasn't too hot at the time.

Part of the descent of Big Boss is him actually cultivating his own legend and cult of personality through the use of smoke and mirrors (ie a body double). He actually intended for his own meme to become a cult of personality-ish figure.

Whereas Solid Snake was modest and insisted he wasn't a hero and that legends are "usually bad news" and that "most of what you hear is actually fiction", Big Boss actually fed into that. It highlights how great Snake actually is, and the difference between them.

You might argue with how it was executed but I like that message a lot, if nothing else.
