Shadow of the Tomb Raider (PS4)

I liked it fine, but it was like, completely average. It did have a couple of things I really liked - the challenge tombs and hiding in the undergrowth on the walls. Also using mud as camo. But it also gave you all these action tools and nowhere near enough action sequences to actually take advantage of all of them

Lara's VA wasn't very good imo, I'm kind of tired of her, and the dialogue in general was hardly Naughty Dog level or whatever. Whole series needs to be stripped waaaay the fuck down. Get rid of the fucking skill trees and upgradeable weapons. Get rid of the melodramatic stories that Crystal Dynamics really aren't exactly great at. Put me in a tomb and have me slowly unlock and find my way through it like a sort of archaeological Resident Evil 2 (except with more, bigger tombs, in different parts of the world). I liked 2013 a lot, it was great at the time, and Rise was fine, but the new series on the whole hasn't had anything to match Temple of Xian from Tomb Raider 2, or even anything close really. Bring back a sense of isolation and exploration. For god's sake, don't do another "open world" thing. I don't need side missions in Tomb Raider.

Yeah Alolan Muk is my biggest worry particularly on the alt team. I rely heavily on Snorlax there to beat Muk as well as any Ice-types.

Last time in Ultra League I used a team where all three Pokemon could beat Giratina. Snorlax (with Lick), Gyrados (with Dragonbreath and Crunch) and Togekiss. Not necessarily hard counters but all three could blacken his eye. Togekiss obviously did the best but still had to look out for the standard AncientPower.

This time, I have a viable Giratina so I'm using it LOL. Giratina, Gyarados, Snorlax on my main and Giratina, Togekiss, Snorlax on my alt. Gyara is useful because it can beat Swampert too.

Glad that's over. I have the rare candies so I can have Braviary whenever I want, but gonna see if I can get another one at some point soon

With that said, the Pokemon I loathe the absolute most at the moment is Cobalion, because I do not want to catch him as a reward anymore, and the game FORCES YOU TO - often at the cost of many Pokeballs and berries - if you want to battle another set of 5.

I didn't make rank 8 last time despite getting in the mid 2400s because Master League killed me in a big way, so I wanted that monkey off my back. Also better rewards.

Plus I like winning, and "boring cookie cutter teams" give a better chance of winning. I like Pokemon more if they help me win a lot (Arceus, Kyogre are two examples of this back when I played Gen IV ubers competitively). I would grow to resent Pokemon I liked if they continually let me down and caused me to lose matches, in the same way I loathe Pokemon like Ludicolo, Walrein, etc that were specifically designed to slow things down and spoil fun, and caused me to lose matches in a very drawn-out, unfun way.

By using said "boring cookie cutter teams" I stop myself from disliking eg Whiscash because I have it myself and it helps me win matches. And because I have checks on Azumarill etc I don't dislike Azumarill etc so much either.

I made rank 8 on both accounts, very generic GL team of Skarmory/Registeel/Clefable on my main and Whiscash/Registeel/Clefable on my alt.

Main: 129 wins/235 battles, 54.9%
Alt: 69 wins/120 battles, 57.5%

I made rank 8 on both, and feel as though I am unlikely to make rank 9, so I'm simply getting to 2 wins for the Pokemon encounter because I want Rufflet... then phoning it in a lot, surrendering more easily, etc. But I doubt I'd be much higher if I did otherwise. Also quite frankly the stress of trying to make rank 9 and failing would infuriate me, because the game is designed to create close, rage-inducing, addiction-causing losses so I really don't want to play into that.

I have Clefable and Registeel which can both deal with Altaria, but they very often protect it and switch out immediately

My third is Toxicroak which is OHKOd by Sky Attack every time

Does CalcyIV use a screen overlay? Genie literally overlays the screen and puts a little button on it, so by scanning the appraise screen of a Pokemon I can know the PVP IV of the Pokemon in question

For instance I have a Swampert with 1atk/4def/15hp stats but this is apparently a fantastic layout for Ultra League - 94.16% (where 100% is the best possible IV combination).

And clearly 2 Pokemon of the same CP are not created equally so what is it about the ratio of Attack, Defense, Stamina and level that would make one better than another?

Use the app PokeGenie, it can tell you the optimal IV for a Great or Ultra League Poke

Usually lower attack is better. Something to do with how CP is distributed

It's ok, because due to alts I only need to see 5 Nincada during the event to get enough candy for an evolution.

And now I have over 100 rare candies on both accts anyway so it's ok. It's better this way.

I got 0 shiny lickitung from the 6 free pass raids. My wife got 1.

BUT I got 3 of the 'hatch 3 eggs' quests from the stops. Which I finished during the 3 hour window. I want 2 sure if the boosted shiny rate applies to the luckitung from field research or just from the raids... But TWO out of THREE field research luckitung were shiny!

But either way. Complete! For the first time since the game came out I have every Pokemon it is possible for me to obtain. So that's not counting raids I missed like Dialga/Palkia/Giratina, or regionals, or Pokemon like Shedinja that were available in limited research

And XIII wept, for there were no more worlds to conquer

Make sure you're logged off. It's handy, but I don't do it all the time. My new apartment has crazy gps drift too so I don't need it that much at the moment. PoGo thinks I've walked over 20km already in the 30 hours since the weekly rewards thing reset.

I got a Scraggy from the new PVP system. I now only need Haxorus, which I'm still 49 candy away from. Tomorrow I will have Woobat with 25 candy so I should have that in short order, meaning the only real challenge now is tha Hax.

I've never had all the Pokemon available before, I'm kinda excited. (Although I do technically still need Nincada)
