I didn't even think of that as an example but that fits perfectly. I think it's perfectly reasonable to think that someone wearing a hat of a team is a fan of that team. Sure, maybe you just needed a hat quick and picked up the cheapest, but odds are it's because you support the team. I feel the same way about shirts.

This is PROBABLY not what you're looking for but James Michener books are a mix of fiction and non-fiction. Usually the POV characters are made up but they interact with real world people.

He takes the overall history of an area, and writes characters into a story that flows with the overall history. It's kind of hard to explain and I feel like I'm doing a bad job but I read one called Chesapeake that the main setting is around the bay in Maryland/Virginia. It goes from the Native Americans to the first settlers and talks about their daily lives and stuff then moves on to like a grandson of the first settlers and goes into the history there.

Like I said, probably not what you're looking for but it is interesting history.

What I mean is if I see someone wearing a Dropkick Murphys shirt or something I would expect them to know at least one song by the band. I don't expect them to know the name and DOB of every member that has ever been involved or be able to name all the albums.

I think I correlate wearing a shirt of a band as being a fan of the band. I saw someone else above say maybe they just liked the design. That's possible.

To be clear though I don't go ask every kid in a Nirvana shirt to name their top 5 favorite Nirvana songs. I've never in my life asked anyone about a band shirt they were wearing. That's hardcore gatekeepy. And maybe I am being a little gatekeepy, I dunno. But personally I wouldn't wear a shirt of a band, or movie, or TV show that I've never even heard or seen.

At a minimum you should at least know and like one of their songs.

It's preservation. People have to feed themselves and their families and pay rent/mortgage. I'll support shit however I can if I feel like it's something worth supporting but I will NOT throw away my whole life.

Last week I started doing between 2.5 and 5.5 miles a night walking. Just to get some light exercise and get my stamina up. I'm not in the habit yet of checking a weather radar to see if rain is coming and yesterday when I was about halfway through my walk the wind picked up and it the clouds got darker. Although to be fair I was walking when it was night so it's hard to tell darker or not. I called an audible and changed my path to be closer to my house if the rain popped off. I also decided to mix in some hills for elevation gain.

My new path took me through a graveyard at like 9PM. It's at the top of a hill and looks to have an AMAZING view of the river. Anyways, is it disrespectful or anything to walk through a graveyard? I'm not visiting a gravesite or anything. I stick to the paved roads/paths. It's just something I thought about after I did it.

I used one by this guy CJayC a couple weeks ago that said to send corrections to a GameFAQs email address but this was from like 2000. Wonder if that guy is still alive.

I believe there's different levels of background checks.

My guess is that the landlord has a ton of applicants and saw this on your report and used it as an excuse. Personally I think it's a little bit of a reach to deny someone because of that, but if you have 10 other people looking at the apartment it's easy to point out that and say they aren't allowing you because of it.

My guess is there was just better candidates.

I got a laptop for work and they included an HP Thunderbolt with it. I have two monitors hooked up and use the laptop screen for a third. However I just now noticed they are DisplayPorts, not HDMI. Maybe something like this plus adaptors.

EXACTLY. It was reported that there were tons of emails behind the scenes of the "anchors" saying it was all bullshit and then going on the air and spouting it as fact. IT started being reported it was delayed a day and now it's being reported more and more places that it's possibly due to giving them time to work out a deal.

I sincerely hope there isn't a deal made. Wouldn't be surprised if it let's Fox off the hook without ever admitting wrongdoing. I can't think of many other court cases that I feel like they NEED to be seen through to the end for the sake of the public but this is one.

I was 6'4" about 360. Now I'm about 255. All of that was just the eating differently. But yeah, I debated getting a treadmill actually but the fresh air is so nice. Eventually I would like to start going to the gym before work each morning. I don't even roll out of bed until 7:45 every morning so I could fit it in.

But good for you. It's so easy to get trapped in the lifestyle of not doing any exercise. I've been there for YEARS. I'm happy to be breaking out of it.

I'm not a paranoid person really but I am.... something and I honestly think a lot about that. There's one small apartment building I pass and they have a camera in one window pointing out to the sidewalk. Every time I pass it I always look directly at it. Not because I try to but because it has a light around the camera part that is out of place and it catches my attention. I think I'm going to start making a funny face whenever I pass it.

I worry about dogs barking too because I worry some random persons dog will start barking causing other dogs to start barking causing people to wake up. I don't know why I worry about dumb shit like this. But the ear buds with noise cancelling help. I don't even hear them now.

Semi-related too - If you own the pixel buds pro and think the tips they came with aren't great try the Comply ones they sell on the google website for them. I didn't have to make a single adjustment the whole time yesterday.

I used to be kinda fat. Like I weighed a lot but I'm kinda tall so while it sounded like a lot of weight it didn't look like that much weight. Over a year or two I lost about 100 pounds just simply by eating less. Instead of two sandwiches I would have one. 4 slices of pizza turned into 2. Etc. I guess it could also technically be called intermittent fasting but I don't know that it was widely called that at the time. But I'll basically only eat from 5/6 PM until bed time.

After I lost that weight I realized I was also totally out of shape but wasn't doing anything about it. I would work and then come home and lay on the couch watching movies or playing games. No joke I bet there were days I walked less than 1500 steps. Probably less than 1000. And this was a lot of days, not just the occasional outlier.

So two nights ago I decided to start doing walks. I live in a small town of about 1400 people. From the bridge that marks the entrance on one end of town to the bridge over the Susquehanna river on the other side of town is like 1.3 miles or so give or take. I'll walk up main street to one end and then over to the second street and walk that to the other side of town and then back to the starting point. It was like 2.6 or 2.7 miles. I was a little winded at the end and my hips hurt a little bit but it was nice. Then yesterday I did two laps so it was like 5.5 miles or something. My hips are killing me today and I have some blisters. Unfortunately there isn't any real elevation gain or anything so I'm going to adjust my future walks to include some areas that do have small hills.

But man does it feel nice to walk. I know walking is not strenuous exercise but it's something. I get my heart rate up a bit and sweat buckets. I'll just throw in my ear buds and put on a spotify playlist and lose track of time. I know I won't even be in "okay shape" after doing this for a while but for such a long time I've been thinking about getting back into the gym and this is a nice start to getting back there.

I might have actually gone a little bit farther last night but it was like 10:15 PM when I finished and it's kind of shady to just be doing laps in town that late at night.

Looking at the news sources website I can't find it. But I find a few different places all citing that place.

I switched from the old spice white stuff to the old spice blue stuff. The old spice blue stuff used to always leave burns under my arm like happens to a bunch of others. The white stuff would leave yellow stains in my shirts after a few washes so I stopped wearing that.
