I try to rotate between a few sources for news and when it comes time to put Fox on I usually dread it.

I know that needle exchanges for IV drug users are set up not just to exchange needles to prevent disease but as kind of a "check" on the local drug population. People come in to exchange their needles and you can maybe see if they are in a mental health crisis, or they are wounded and should go to a doctor etc. AFAIK sharing crack pipes won't get you a serious disease but I wonder if it's to keep an eye on people and help them get help.

I mean this makes sense. Real Estate has been hot since the pandemic started (or close to it) and car prices (at least used) we already know are higher than normal by a lot.

One thing I don't understand is why so many people use it? Remember a few years ago when Trump was banned it because of fears of Chinese spying because it's a Chinese company? The amount of Trump fans who use TikTok is crazy to me.

For me though I've seen one TikTok video and I don't even remember why. I don't want another social media app. I already have Facebook and Reddit that take up time. It's why I don't have Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, TikTok, etc.

Every time they raise the price I think about cancelling it. I don't because I've been a customer of them since probably 2006ish when it was only DVDs. It's still my go-to streaming service so I won't get rid of it yet but man i'm getting tired of the price hikes.

It is about a kid but it's one of my favorite books from when I was younger.

I'm only a couple hours in. I've had a few bugs pop up like screen flickering, issues with the survivor sense, some audio glitches, but nothing that has required a restart of my console.

It's fine so far and the moment I had the chance to run around and explore shit I did. I really feel like not having the glider and hook yet is making it slightly less fun so I'll probably beeline for those. I want to give it some more time before I start saying if it's good or not.

After the abomination that was 2K20 and them having to take a year off of making the games because it was so bad I wouldn't pay that on a gamble for this year. With that said, I've seen nothing but good things about 2K22.

I had it on and off for a while. It turns out I was getting it because I was forgetting to take my Effexor every morning. Quitting Effexor, even tapering, had with with vertigo then for 2 weeks or so. It sucked real bad.

Not sure how well non-Steam games will work on the default OS (probably a matter of "it'll try, most stuff will work, but nothing's guaranteed"), but it's literally a portable PC with a built in gamepad; you could install Windows on it instead (and run anything that runs on Windows) if you want.

Basically this. We aren't 100 percent sure yet. Valve says it won't be locking other companies out or anything but it sounds like you'll probably have some work to do on the Steam Deck itself with loading a new OS possibly. I'm sure we will know more once they start shipping out.

I got the Steam Link for that reason and barely used it after the first week. I'm hoping the Steam Deck is basically a switch for PC games and if that's the case I'll be buying one.

I'll admit I've been slightly worried about the Steam Deck since Valve doesn't have the greatest track record with their products they make. (Steam Link, etc.)

And I've seen posts on here about people saying it will flop because there's no way all the games will work on it. Or pointing out the list of confirmed working games was small.

The list of Steam Deck verified games is starting to populate. Popular games like Sekiro work fine, but Subnautica and The Witcher 3 are only marked as playable (with some limitations) because of issues with text readability and lack of cross-platform saves. According to the developers we talked to, these are the sorts of small issues that should be worked out very soon.

A few developers we talked to explained that they had to make minor adjustments to their games, like detecting the right screen resolution and smoothing out controller support. But every issue was either the fault of the game or something easily fixable with some tweaks.

To me it sounds like some developers may need to go in and tweak a couple things so that their game makes it to the "Verified Games list."

This article overall has me more optimistic. My brother has one reserved/preordered so I will fiddle with his when he gets it.

In a country with only two political parties that actually stand a chance of being the President I think "he's not the other guy" is an acceptable reason. If we had 4 or 5 legit people to choose from (Not the Libertarians, Green, etc.) I wouldn't accept that excuse anymore.

I know we have more than 2 people who actually run for president but the way the political parties are set up in the US they never have a chance.

I only know of him because of "down the rabbit hole" type videos that cover his career so far. He seems like a piece of shit. That led to discovering the whole "IP2" crowd who each of them is probably in the running for "biggest piece of shit." Is everything related to this guy shit?

The company I work for pays me decently and I get yearly raises that aren't just small cost of living increases and a good bonus each yeah.

If I have to come in late because of a doctors appointment they don't make me use vacation/sick time because "I've probably worked late some nights to make up for it" which I have.

They don't give you shit if you need to leave early and you can just put in some time and leave. Not feeling work today but you're ahead of your workload and current stuff is done? Go ahead and take off. Workload is kind of low? No shame in taking a day off.

I liked Inquisition, but probably because I disliked 2 so much.

I mean all jobs have parts that suck. There's a tradeoff with it in that you can kind of make your own schedule. Car emergency in the morning when you go to drive in to the office? No one cares. Take the day off if you don't have to drive clients around. Don't want to work any Wednesday, ever? No problem.

I did it for a while.

I had to take some classes. After the classes I had to take a test done by the state (Pennsylvania.) The test itself was pretty easy as long as you pay attention to the classes and study a little bit.

After that I had to meet with real estate brokers to decide which one I wanted to work for. I interviewed a few and selected who I wanted to work for. Started work for them and it included a little more training and doing open houses for other agents to get the hang of things. One thing they will hammer in to you probably is using your circle of friends. It can be tough getting new business. you have to be selected out of hundreds or thousands of other agents in your area to list a home. Or you have to fight all of those people to represent a buyer. They want you coming in knowing a bunch of people to make your start a little easier.

If you're into real estate, and you're okay with a sales job it isn't a bad gig. It's a large time commitment though.

I finally quit because I wasn't a fan of the hours. I don't mind putting in long hours but at the end of the day when I get home I am at home for the night. It happened all the time that I would get a call from a client who suddenly have some free time and want to go look at a few places quick. Except it's 7 PM at night and you're in your sweats. Nothing to do except change again and go show those houses. I got tired of that.

I've been struggling with this myself. I live in an area that Trump got like 70 percent of the votes. Why don't I cut out my toxic friends? There wouldn't be anybody else to talk to.

My friends aren't all "GET OUR GUNS AND LET"S GO FIND BIDEN" type of crazy but a couple steps below that. Some of them still think the election was stolen (but aren't crazy militant), some still refuse to get a vaccine etc.

99 percent of the time when we talk it's fine. We just don't get into too many conversations about politics. I'm sure they see me as their "token liberal" friend but I'm not really that liberal and anything to the left of Trump for a lot of people is socialist.

Season 2 at least has Heather Graham to enjoy.

What's touch typing? And what's the opposite of touch typing? I've never heard that term before. It's always been just "typing"
