I mean I get it. There was a HUGE influx of idiots recently who thought the whole GME thing was "cool." And it was, but that doesn't mean it's a good idea.

It's kind of like what I said above about the Dunning Kreuger effect. People are too dumb to see what they don't know and that's super dangerous. I am well aware this mindset out there exists and I try my hardest not to fall in to it. I see most of the moving parts but am still trying to figure out how it all goes together if that makes sense.

This is 100 percent how I look at it myself.

Even with just stocks I assume I will never see that money again. I ONLY invest part of what I would normally throw in to my savings account.

the learning process for investing is something like this:

1) "I can't invest in stocks, I don't know anything!"

Oh absolutely. It's a big part Dunning-Kruger effect too I think. Just because people know how to go in and click buy and sell doesn't meant hey know wtf they are doing. That's why I always try to research as much as possible too. Although I do think there's a path split after 3 (or more likely 4) where you find out what you did wrong and try again.

I'm not YET. But as I've said I am trying to learn as much as I can (that's just how I am) before jumping in to decisions. My fear or non-confidence is typically how I feel before I start doing something. A job, a hobby etc. I mean I absolutely SHOULD be worried about playing with money but my biggest problem will always be the fight between "I don't feel informed enough" and "will you ever feel informed enough".

As of now though I KNOW i'm not.

Honestly Stadia seemed to me just kind of an idea or a bridge to the much bigger companies figuring out streaming. I don't expect it to be around for years and years but it seems to be well done.

Long term option plays are one of the safer ways to do it. Like 6+ months until expiration date.

Yeah that's what I have been seeing or at least figuring out. Honestly the thing that caught me off guard was that people don't buy these contracts to own the stock but to sell the contract itself. It showed me how much I didn't know about all of this yet and led to me trying to learn even more.

For me it's not RIGHT NOW but it's like I would love to do a few trades where I can turn 1500 bucks into 3000 or 4500 or something within a few months. I'm not trying for "retire" money but more "pay off my car" money and then see what happens from there.

My options trading is like 3 or 4 big winners, 15% ok gains, the rest losses of some to all of my investment.

I think my biggest thing is I just need to pull the trigger once I feel more comfortable and knowledgeable. It just always seems like something that's for the big guys only and I'm not a big guy.

options trading is a losing game for 99% of participants and most of the 1% who make money on it are high frequency trading algorithms hardwired to the trading floor, trading on one second charts because they can respond to news the instant it breaks and then close positions when the actual reaction to that news kicks in

you're interested because you think you spotted a get rich quick scheme and your lizard brain wants to believe it is legitimate

but most retail investors who bought GME bought above the current price and lost money, and most of them do "care about their money", unlike the WSB originator who made millions by "not caring about his money" (read: selling the penny stock after retail piled in behind him)

Not disagreeing with anything you said. I mean I'm not a COMPLETE moron. I didn't buy GME or AMC but I did buy a few BB. I 100 percent knew that most people on WSB were going to lose huge.

And that's partially why i'm interested but I don't expect it to "be quick." I'm well aware of what I could lose but I have the money to gamble a little bit. No kids, not married, car paid off, low mortgage etc.

I've also thrown in 20 bucks more on most of the penny stocks that I was originally given just in case. A lot of them have been moving the past few days and a 20 spot on four or five stocks is a small gamble to take.

Regarding the buying options it's not something I will start tomorrow. I still have a lot of learning to do. Like I understand what all the "greeks" mean but it can still be a little hard to wrap my head around. I think I just need time to digest all the info that I threw at myself over the weekend.

I've had a small stock account for maybe 3 years that was a gift with a lot of pot stocks in them that have gone to almost worthless since I got them. This whole GME thing though got me in to paying attention to my account and I've bought and sold some small stuff.

But options trading seems interesting. I'm still a noob when it comes to this stuff but I spent a lot of time over the weekend reading and watching tutorial videos and things like that. It's just kind of scary! I know buying calls I am limited to a loss of my premium but still, I get worried.

Anyways, who else got into stocks lately? Or bonds? OR whatever.

Edit: One of the options I was looking at was to buy some calls for blackberry due next week and maybe for a month out.

Write about how it implies that the US is "occupying" or "claiming" space and the moral implications of it or something. Whether or not the additional security the US may gain from this is worth that, or if any country has the right to have a military force in space.

That's how I would have went after it but more "question if" and maybe not "implies". I thought we had treaties about this stuff? Granted it doesn't mean the US is sending a ship load of soldiers out in space or anything but it's possibly the start.

I finally got around to watching Kong this weekend and I enjoyed it.

Until I watched this trailer I didn't understand how it would even be a fair fight. So I either didn't realize how big Kong was compared to Godzilla or they just increased his size for the movie. Now that I've seen the trailer I'm hyped.

Will the other monsters be in it?

I'm registered Republican and have been since I was 18. If I could vote in the primary as an independent in PA I would switch parties.

I'm for small government and agree with "states rights" to an extent. But I love gay people and think universal healthcare is the only healthcare we should have in this country. (I've oversimplified these last few sentences but you get the point)

I never liked Trump. He was a bully and a bully shouldn't be the most powerful man in the world. He says shit you shouldn't say. He tweets things he shouldn't tweet. He calls people rapists while talking about sexually assaulting women. He preaches family values but has how many kids to how many women and it is KNOWN he cheats on his wives. A LARGE percentage of my party turned to man over country and it's gross. I debate every day about leaving but haven't yet. I see some of my friends coming to their senses but not all of them and that kind of scares me.

Queue times will be higher for DPS characters. Less so for tank and healer.

But they all feel a little different and all play a little different. The beauty of this game is you can play any class on the same character. So pick one out and try it out.... if you don't like it, switch.

Hoobastank's The Reason is exactly the kind of thing I might have listened to in my early high school days, and while I did make it through out of a sense of weird nostalgia, it's not really my thing anymore.
