I've met some people who treat it like a whole self-care luxuriation time, so they like the hot water, whatever lotion massage they moisturize with and all that. Others just treat it like a reluctant chore and go through it quickly, but they're still hot.

I think towards the end of working out and in the time while getting dressed before going out to a function are the sexiest times to look hot (or to look at someone being hot).

Just stop sending messages and be nervous on your own time. Your overthinking, maladaptive as it is, can't hurt you if you don't act on it. Once you get into the groove of talking normally, you'll have corroborative data points that show your regular, first message was fine and you didn't need to worry so much. I usually recommend practice, but in cases like this, putting less effort into it gives you more.

But the lyric 'what's in this drink?' Makes me understand why people thought otherwise
This was a stock joke of the time that meant someone was going to use their drinking [of a weak alcoholic drink] as license to do something they wouldn't, or that they were accusing the person of pouring weak drinks. In this case, it's the former.

The whole song could not possibly be more about these people wanting to do it. Every single excuse of hers is about the way society will treat them, not her own trepidation of will. It is f'ing ridiculous that people act like no teenager or young person has ever had to leave somewhere, not wanted to, and needed to play the better angel of themselves against friends trying to talk them out of it. It was one of my most related-to Christmas songs as a teen who had to drive home in the snow and ice or sleep on the floor of my parents' office instead of at a friend's house scores of times because my parents would have rather had a dead virgin than a sexual deviant for a child.

I haven't heard the new version, but I heard some BS last year that changed all the lyrics to things like "I understand 'no' means 'no'" and "You're free to go." That shit and preemptive consent waivers are HUGE red flags; no one wants to be around someone who says shit like "I proooooomise not to rape you! :3" because they definitely will. The only lines that would need to be changed would be:

"I really can't stay" > "I wish I could stay."
Sets the stage even clearer.

"Say, what's in this drink?" > "Who cares what they think?"
Updates a stock joke that was hackneyed before Bugs Bunny was cool, as well as still provide the same spirit of near-concession from her perspective. That line also has his line rhyme 'there' with 'there,' so it's not very much weaker lyrically with the repeated 'think.'

I used to really want one where you could play as someone a little older who worked for Rocket.

And adult Pokmon world would just be people holding down regular careers; training is predominantly for kids (you need child soldiers in a world where everything is a magical monster). Think Power Plant from Gen 1.

"Whoa, you're an Eelektrik trainer?!"

Perfect Waffles

Incredibly light and crispy waffles, good enough to use as a dating technique. I have no reason to believe the recipe would be any different if you used a keto pancake mix. This recipe is as easy as owning a waffle iron. This can also be a newbie's first recipe with a "secret ingredient," the club soda.

1 egg
1 and 1/3 cup club soda
1/3 cup oil
2 cups of favorite pancake mix

Grease your waffle iron once it's preheated and every three or four waffles thereafter.

There seems to be a lot of interest on CE in weightloss, cooking, adulting and foodieism generally. Each of these interests motivate a board recipe topic.

Share your hacks, tips and favorites. I started on CE posting recipes and I'll die on CE posting recipes.

Carrot Soup
This recipe scales up or down perfectly. It freezes well and forgives a lot of creativity, so it's perfect for beginners of both cooking and meal prep. It's fairly low calorie, especially relative to purchased soups; if you're watching your sodium, adjust the broth type accordingly. It's also easily altered to be vegan or dairy free.

1 tablespoon butter
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive or avocado oil
1 medium onion, chopped
2 stalks celery, chopped
2+ cloves garlic, chopped
1 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme or parsley
5 cups chopped carrots
2 cups water
4 cups broth or stock
1.25+ cup Greek yogurt

To taste:
Salt
Pepper
Ginger
Turmeric
Sage
Optional: basil, coriander, cinnamon (trace), nutmeg, MSG, dill

Any of the following vegetables in quantities not to overpower the carrots or add more than two total cups of extra vegetation without extra liquid are perfectly suitable to supplement in:
Squash
Radishes
Peppers
Tomatoes

Heat butter and oil in a large pot over medium heat until the butter melts.

Rough cut vegetables. Add onion and celery; cook, stirring occasionally, until softened, 4 to 6 minutes.

Add garlic and thyme (or parsley); cook, stirring, until fragrant, about 10 seconds.

Stir in carrots. Add water, broth and spices; bring to a lively simmer over high heat.

Reduce heat to maintain a lively simmer and cook until very tender, about 25 minutes.

Puree the soup in batches with yogurt in a blender until smooth. Mix all the batches together at the end before serving/freezing, to ensure that the spices and yogurt are evenly distributed.

Serves: This is a pretty big recipe, so halve it the first time you make it if you're not serving multiple people across a few meals' worth of leftovers or freezing it.

Toffee
Definitely not for a fitness regimen. You need a candy thermometer and patience, but it's not really very difficult if you can stir for twenty minutes at a time. Great holiday gift ranging from Halloween through Valentine's Day.

1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
4 to 5 tbsp water (just over 1/4 cup)
1 to 2 tbsp vanilla
1 to 2 tbsp malt

1/4 tsp salt if butter unsalted

1/4 cup extra water (see warning below)

Partially melt butter over medium-low heat. Combine other ingredients and mix everything together except the extra water, stirring continuously, until exactly 290 (about 18 minutes). Scrape the sides of the pot frequently to prevent burning.

Pour into foil-lined baking dish over any additives (nuts, chocolate, etc.). It will start to firm up immediately, but wait an hour or more to eat it to get the full crispness.

If it changes color to dark brown, its burnt; put the end product on vanilla ice cream, bourbon whipped cream, coffee, pumpkin pie, etc. to save face. This dish is to be called "smoky toffee."

To test a candy thermometer, boil water and stick it in. It should read 212F or 100C.

WARNING: Sometimes, the mixture becomes too dehydrated and all at once it falls apart, separating into an oil and a sand. This will ruin the toffee. BUT! If you keep an extra 1/4 cup of water nearby and throw it in when this happens, there will be a massive, exciting, alchemical fizzing as you stir. The mixture will expand in size and then shrink back down like nothing ever happened, back into its toffee mix form. It can usually be saved at this point without too much smoky flavor.

TopicAiming to shed 110lbs next year. What are some good weight loss tips?
VanananaHeyHey
12/08/19 8:35:28 AM
#17
A year is a long time and a hundred pounds is a lot to lose. If you're being gradual and consistent, your belly skin will slowly adjust as your weightloss continues. With that much to lose, you probably will end up with excess skin, but that's manageable and its severity is unknown. The younger you are, the more elastic it will be.

Eat vegetables, drink water, sleep at least seven hours a day. These are the good habits we all learn and then sometimes have trouble integrating into our adult lives. Doing those three things will make all of your systems run better and you'll feel more motivated to keep going to the gym/whatever. When I worked an office job, I used to get up at least once every hour and move around for a minute or two. It's a habit I've gotten out of, but it definitely helped me feel like my blood was alive and I lost some weight from point A to point B of it.

At the beginning, especially when you have a lot to lose, it'll come off very fast and then taper off. This is normal, don't be discouraged. I'd recommend going to a gym, doctor or nutritionist if you can afford it for a body fat analysis. It shows your muscle and fat breakdown, which can help you specify and define the fitness you want to improve. If you exercise regularly for a whole year (and more), you will definitely gain a few tens of muscle as you lose your fat, so your net loss won't look like exactly weight minus one hundred ten. A periodic analysis of your body composition will help keep you motivated. Musclemass burns more calories passively, so you'll have cyclical boons from gaining muscle in the gym.

Laser tag and escape rooms sound like a lot of fun. When it gets warmer, there are lots of nice areas all over the region for hiking and maybe tubing.

It's a little costly, but the Spy Museum is fun if we're looking for D.C. things. It's more interactive than typical, free, socially-heralded museums, so that could be a good speed for us all if we still wanted to talk and goof about a little.

Heck, no! Easy as chucking a ball. If everything we do is practice, it can only be good for us and we can only get better.

Make sure to get the right weight ball, though, because if you wrench your wrist the wrong direction, it can put a detriment on the whole rest of the game. It's unlikely to hurt you long-term unless you really jack it up, but it's no fun playing with a minor strain. Don't fear the granny throw.

VanananaHeyHey
12/04/19 10:38:32 AM
#8
For liberal feminists and gender activists, 'pansexuality' presupposes that there are multitudinous genders and that the sexes number at least three: female, intersex condition (sometimes split into the categories) and male. They define 'bisexuality' as both a legacy term from before the proliferation of self-identity of gender was popular in society, and a term for people who do only like two genders, but not necessarily tied to biological sex; a bisexual could like, for instance, only the two genders of transmasculine female people and gender-conforming female people in this view, whereas a pansexual would have attraction to all the people and all the genders and sexes.

The demi-sexualities and sapiosexual, etc. stuff is all just trying to belong and be different at the same time. It's a zodiac created by nervous children who were never allowed privacy by their parents, sex ed in their schooling or independent freeplay with their peers.

Disclosure: I don't believe in innate gender and don't subscribe to these definitions, but that's as best as I can cipher from my obsessive placement in the thick of it for the past ten years, as well as a lifetime of dysphoria and dysmorphia.

It's a great series and has a good tone. Its gun episode is spectacular. It was overshadowed by Batman and then the Japan explosion, but definitely was popular in my elementary school.

As a lulsy thing, I enjoy seeing how children's media portrays seduction and/or partying. This has one of the best instances I've seen. In the episode where Elisa does a honeypot operation against the gang leader, his mode of seduction is having a full Thanksgiving dinner and, like, some grapes and things catered for her in his apartment and the two of them are eating jalapeos out of a jar with their fingers. "A girl could get used to this." "Keep the jar. >;)"

(And then they use 'jalapeo', pronounced ha-la-PAIN-yuh, as a mild oath for several other episodes after this.)

I've had a Model 3 for just over a year now and it's pretty worth it. All of the cars I'd ever had before this were used and more than ten years old, so maybe some of my approval is the mystification of a rube.

Pros:
It has excellent pick-up, almost dreamlike in its responsiveness. The seats are mad comfortable. Because we got an early run, it had a mandatory buy-in of some luxury features like heated seats, but even without that, the plushing and fit are great.

You can actually plug it into a regular wall outlet but it takes a long-ass time to charge.

It handles so, so well. I'm not really a car guy per se, but it's great fun and highly safety rated.

Cons:
They beam updates right to the car, which is mostly a pro, but that also includes minigames and Musk's stupid ideas about safety features. I should get a rebate for my car having a Fart Mode.

The digital screen is a little distracting.

The key is a key card and doesnt have a hole punched in it, so it can be mislaid easily.

The best suspension I've ever had was in a 1999 Oldsmobile.
