Think of anything you liked as a kid that was infeasible to pick as a career (third grade dinosaurs unit? PBS special on cuttlefish? favorite high school field trip to a cannery?) and get a little bit into that. Music can be something funky to pick up --- it's especially useful for social situations that need a talent. Anything you're anxious about adulting over? Learn more political leaders' names, to a bit of extra reading on how mortgages (etc.) work, sign up for a plumbing 101 class at a community college, learn how to sew more than a button. --- CE's Official linguist, War-tor-le and Charizard |

| VanananaHeyHey 11/05/18 7:04:34 AM #5 | What is your living situation like? The Husky and Shepherd will need to have the most space to run, not just do a lot of walking. Huskies are very vocal do you have close neighbors? Retrievers and Huskies will require the most grooming of the three. If this is your first dog, that will be another consideration to figure out if you have the time and attention for. Some apartment buildings have breed restrictions; a Shepherd would be the most likely of those three to be banned somewhere. Huskies can overheat in hot climates. I completely understand breed loyalty; I'm in a Doberman-and-Rottweiler family, myself. I would go with a Husky if it were just a matter of daydreams, but the Retriever is probably the most feasible for most living situations because of its doofiness and familiarity. --- CE's Official linguist, War-tor-le and Charizard |
