Sonic Mania beated

Finally got around to buying and playing this! It's excellent, but not quite S3&K level greatness. I've beaten (and gotten all emeralds for) a Sonic and Tails duo run, a Knuckles & Knuckles no save run (right when I unlocked that), and now a solo Tails run. Still have a solo Sonic run left to finish and a saved Knuckles solo run to do from the beginning. Then I can have all four character files completed!

May take a break though because I've already played this about to death. Yeah...it's not quite as endlessly replayable as S3&K!

I think everyone knows how I feel about Tropical Freeze here it's one of my favorite games of all time and my favorite platformer bar none but Funky looks to just be a glorified easy mode...which is incredibly disappointing. Part of my love for Tropical Freeze is the ridiculous difficulty. Really wish they could've just added Funky and made easy mode a separate addition. Think I'm going to have to pass on rebuying this unless there are new levels or something.

Hyrule Warriors is hype though. It was one of the few big games I never got for the Wii U, and now I'm stoked I waited.

Hey I made this topic on New Year's Eve! Yep, dude had one hell of a year. I'll have to rewatch his older two specials, but I remember loving the Age of Spin and not caring much for Live in the Heart of Texas. That was definitely the weakest of the four to me, because the others are all pretty fantastic.

Doesn't look like anyone's pointed it out yet, but Steam Gardens (Super Mario Odyssey) and Torvus Bog Subterranean Theme (Metroid Prime 2) -- two tracks which I fucking love, more than most of these -- are sadly both level themes in the exact same vein as Dire, Dire Docks. Just noticed that was a huge inconsistency.

Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove for both.

Played this wonderful game when it first came out back in the day and just now getting around to all the free DLC. At the endgame with Plague Knight and excited to see what the Specter Knight mode has to offer. I think it will actually feature totally new levels?

He basically makes a point about where he's coming from and I think it's awfully clear cut that he's not being transphobic, but I would be interested in hearing an opposing opinion, or especially a trans person's opinion. The "trans racial" bit was especially hilarious, and the specific person he talks about is really the only person he shits on.

They just dropped today, I think, and I just finished the second one a little while ago. They're by no means the funniest comedy specials you'll watch, but Chappelle still has a way of tackling racial and political topics like no one else. Equanimity is the funnier of the two, but The Bird Revelation is the more fascinating one, as it basically becomes a TED Talk by the end of it.

Man, the "Pimp" analogy in that second special had me baffled for forever, but I finally got it. I was thinking of Dave as Iceberg Slim in the analogy, but he's not.

That Cuphead game looks pretty neat. Well, here's hoping for Super Mario Odyssey > Breath of the Wild. Even though my BotW play time more than triples the hours I put into Odyssey, the latter had so much goddamn heart and is my personal game of the year.

You're right here. I do remember once I got to two wheels and would try climbing mountains I would almost always find a crevice or two to stand on and could eventually make it to the top. But that's just the thing...the speed. In a world this massive, speed is everything. There's a reason that, now having over 100,000 rupees, my most stocked meal types are the ones that enhance your speed. Stamina may be less essential than hearts, but it's also way more useful. And once you get to a certain amount of hearts and a certain skill level (the latter which especially doesn't take long), stamina is definitely the way to go, I'd say.

Oh, I thought I saw an article that said you could redo the dungeons with limited items then fight the bosses over and over for new dialogue with the Champions?

Not quite.

You do refight the bosses after you beat the three shrines respective to that Champion, but only the boss -- no dungeon. The idea is that you're fighting the boss with the same items and equipment the Champions had when they met their demise to each Blight. It makes for a more challenging boss battle, but I still found them easy with 28 hearts and all. They might also actually be harder in general and have some new attacks but I'm honestly not sure.

Also now my biggest gripe with this DLC is that it let you add one more additional heart, but that still leaves the total at 28 if you max out your stamina bar, not 30. What a tease. My OCD will not stop obsessing over those two missing hearts on my life bar.

It's great. The beginning and ending segments are the best parts, but all 16 new shrines are some of the most well-crafted and challenging the game has to offer. The whole thing feels very endgame-y and the new dungeon had me considerably confused. Good stuff. Just finished getting all the costumes yesterday and I've officially done everything there is to do in both DLC packs, sans Master Mode.

It's arguably my all-time favorite show, a title that has long been held by Arrested Development.

Season wise I'm thinking: 2 > 3 > 4 = 1

But that's pretty hard to say. I honestly find season 1 fucking fantastic and wholly underrated. Even in the early episodes in the season, it builds the foundation to explore serious recurring issues for its characters, as well as lightheartedly pull out some brilliant social commentary as in "Bojack Hates the Troops."

Speaking of tearing up, season 2 made that happen way too much to me. Never quite experienced a show before that had me rolling on the floor in a fit of laughter and 30 seconds later deep in a ball of despair. It's definitely this point in the show where Bojack elevates itself to something truly special.

If season 3 lived up to the highs and lows of 2, I wouldn't really have a problem calling it my favorite show ever, but it never quite did. Definitely overrated, but there are still plenty of moments of painful truths as it explores the consequences of the events that took place in season 2.

I suppose it's time for me to give season 4 another go now, but I also found it a tiny bit underwhelming on the emotional front compared to season 2. It's more lighthearted overall, with a few hyper-focused serious episodes interspersed instead, like the already lauded "Time's Arrow." It is probably one of the funniest seasons, however, and just thinking about some of the moments here has me giggling to myself.

Once you've watched the whole thing, do yourself a favor and rewatch the early episodes because I think you'll appreciate them far more on later viewings. It really is the type of show that benefits so much from viewers already understanding its characters and world.

...I can't believe I just typed this all up on my phone. Goddammit, I really love this show.

Blur, just get the trilogy on 3DS. that'll be just as good and probably a lot cheaper.

But I need an excuse to play my Switch more post-Odyssey! And pre...whatever big first-party Nintendo title is next.

On the other hand, I think PW uses the touch screen extensively? Yeah, that seems like it would be more natural on the 3DS and with a stylus.
