Doesn't look like anyone's pointed it out yet, but Steam Gardens (Super Mario Odyssey) and Torvus Bog Subterranean Theme (Metroid Prime 2) -- two tracks which I fucking love, more than most of these -- are sadly both level themes in the exact same vein as Dire, Dire Docks. Just noticed that was a huge inconsistency.

Oh dear. Thanks for the catch. pj kinda has a point though. My understanding of Odyssey and the MP games is that they sorta have open regions, not direct linear levels?

3-D Mario games are odd situations because they're usually pretty big areas (and Odyssey's are bigger than normal) where there's a lot to do and it's the same music throughout for the most part
However, they usually have a hub (Odyssey doesn't though), so I don't know if you'd rather count the hub instead. --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

For MP it's more like... a region consists of many connected (via door/disguised loading zones) "rooms" that are otherwise open. Rooms can have multiple doors in them and cover a whole lot of area. Region-to-region transport is done at... let's call them elevators that are in various parts of the region. These elevators are point-to-point, that is, they don't let you go anywhere, they connect specific areas at specific points.
