Bernie bros thinking Bernie would have done better is hilarious.

all the people who voted trump arent voting Bernie. Trump won Florida due to socialism fear.
Couldn't disagree more. Bernie's campaign would have been completely different in every way and much more economically focused - could have made a huge difference in swing states, especially during a time like this. Obviously Bernie is not winning Trumpers and he's not winning Flordia, but I personally know quite a few people who stayed home that would have otherwise voted Bernie, my conservative mother included. That's anecdotal, so you can dismiss it if you want, but I still think it's worth pointing out.

We'll never know so there's not really any point in pontificating about it. It would have been such a different race.

Bleed

I think I only knew of this game from a top games list transience did a couple years ago (I know he has since done at least one more updated list). Picked it and the sequel up on the cheap a while back for Switch and randomly decided to play it.Great game. In a world where Metroidvanias are everywhere (rightfully so), we still need more quality sidescrolling shooters like this.

Beat all the levels on hard now and will probably attempt very hard soon. Then on to Bleed 2.

so if I do what I almost did today but was too stubborn to do, then I might have a 10k day tomorrow. but things have to go right for me

Basically if XELA runs again tomorrow -- and the news was too big and the current dip price too good that it's hard to imagine it not happening -- and I go ahead and bite the bullet and secure profits, then throw those at AVCT on a dip and it runs again like it did today (literally a daily occurrence of 50 - 75 cent runs here but then it closes like 10 cents above open EVERY fucking time)...then get out of that run. Boom, 10+ grand in a day again. I'm just giving up long positions so I have to hope that they both go back to a good buy price, because I will not ever chase again.

This may seem like a lot but AVCT will 100% run or it will be the first day in over...a week and a half that it hasn't? And if it does it'll likely come crashing back for my buy opportunity with new funds, because again, I'm not joking when I say it's happened every day there for like a week -- check the chart. But XELA doesn't ever do what it should so who knows. We'll see what the post-news world is like for that stock.

E: Oh and people were talking about Big Five on the Dumb Money discord the last few days. Shame I didn't have the time to research that one! ER being good was SO duh though, wish I'd even spent the couple minutes to find out ER was coming! I'll be watching closely and researching the company tomorrow on my day off to figure out where I think it might be headed. If I'm comfortable getting in and holding for a while I might throw some money there for another Covid play.

Should've seen that coming I guess. I'm still holding. Wasn't planning on securing profits for a while but regretting that now. Ah well, still long here. People are going to do what they do and I'll just try to ignore the noise from the market.

Think I want to start playing less stocks at once and keep more money free. GAN being down (though recovering) is hurting me and I can't sell for a loss or I have to wait for trade settlement. Could be throwing so much money at AVCT right now and would be breaking even at like 4.25 instead of 5.

AVCT dipping a bit today while XELA runs is perfect. Stay quiet AVCT don't suddenly spike 50 cents like you do every day please and thanks

Just have to pay attention if AVCT gets near 3.70 it's probably going to pop. But the run might be losing steam so getting more shares at that price may not even matter too much. Still, I'm thinking $5 PT pre-ER (mid August) and it's either going to below 3 or potentially past 10 the following week depending on forward guidance. All the insiders scooping up shares last week tells me they have big announcements planned, but I'll be reading that ER the minute they drop it.

Hope y'all didn't sell! Wasn't joking when I said accept nothing less than 100% gains here. Let's add another figure.

This could be a multi-day run. I've averaged up because fuck it and now I'm holding.

Glad I found my niche in the market: research your ass off and find what the market is not appreciating. A few big trades can go way farther than a ton of modest ones. You'll never have to chase this way and you just have to play the waiting game.

The only thing I need to figure out now is exit strategies on trades like this, but when it's a company you're comfortable going long on and you're way in the green, you're a winner either way.

I got back in GAN at 22.20 this morning. Buy the fear. That early morning dip had me scared we were headed back to 18 or something but I figured no way such a good stock would lose support from the last month.

Just 400 shares though. Leaving lots of free margin so as to not get called.

Online gambling is clearly the future of that sector, at least in the next year to two year period. Still think going long on GAN or LCA is the way to go there. GAN most prominently; the Dumb Money guys don't trust LCA as much so I'll take their expertise here. The recent pullback on GAN hit the support level from a month ago so I'd love to see it get cheaper for me to get back in. Or I'll just buy it at 23 something if it builds up tomorrow, but the last time I bought GAN on a Friday I had to average down to make it a winning trade!

All that said I haven't researched the casino industry at all and have no idea how much Fed money is being pumped into them. But from my limited knowledge they sound the most likely to fail short term? Huge unemployment isn't exactly a winning recipe for gambling.

I'm pretty sure as long as I'm selling ahead of where I bought those additional shares I'd immediately be granted the margin back to add. (At least, I really hope this is the case, because I'm still down in this stock overall, but I think if your sell share count matches your buy share count, it will grant you the margin back immediately since for those specific shares it's a winning trade.)

Happy to report this is exactly the case. As long as your buy and sell orders match share amount, it doesn't matter where your gain/loss is in a stock overall. Stop limit hit this morning on 1,000 shares, which still made me profit, and gave me a bunch of margin to spend again.

So naturally I'm trying to buy AVCT warrants! They CAN be sold just like common stock. But my broker is having some serious trouble filling the order. So far only 200 filled. Hmmm, I guess they're just not available... fair enough. The amount of money that can be made off these warrants is insane. Seems there's way more potential gains in buying and selling the warrants themselves and not exercising them, even if exercising them became extremely profitable.

E: Actually, even when the stock was trading over $10 pre-Covid the warrants remained well under a dollar. So never mind. Would still take the guaranteed profits if the warrants double in price and hit their peak again, but potentially more upside holding them super long term.

Of course I'll probably just regret not buying Tesla again when it somehow hits 3,000 for no reason.

Saw an ad for a margin interest rate below 1% from IBKR and am considering opening a margin account. The appealing thing about it is you can pyramid (when your stocks go up, you can borrow more and use the funds to buy more shares). In a rising market with this strategy you can make a lot more than 2x what you make without margin.

Oh yeah, this is exactly what I've been doing with AVCT. Well, not quite to the extremes of your Tesla example, but I have used the gains to buy a modest amount of additional shares along the way.

The key for me in minimizing risk is just to set stop losses for the amount of shares I buy. I bought another 2300 AVCT shares at 3.80, and I set a stop loss slightly above it to even account for margin interest (though I haven't actually calculated my exact margin interest, but the interest is never much). Of course doing this can wipe away shares if there's a dip and sudden surge, but I'm pretty sure as long as I'm selling ahead of where I bought those additional shares I'd immediately be granted the margin back to add. (At least, I really hope this is the case, because I'm still down in this stock overall, but I think if your sell share count matches your buy share count, it will grant you the margin back immediately since for those specific shares it's a winning trade.) So yeah, I'm hoping that if there is a dip, the dip would continue and I could just get even cheaper shares for a stock I'm long on.

I've been really lucky to be buying right before breakouts and the support has always stayed decently ahead of where I bought more shares. Soon as the breakout happens, boom stop limit set and don't have to worry much about it prematurely triggering.

Hopefully it won't hit tomorrow since it's nearing closer to it. Honestly I wish I had sold those additional shares today when it hit 4.75 and bought back in now, but I didn't want to chance losing them. I may very well do that tomorrow though. I think the stock has attracted too many day traders and not enough investors now and it might remain flat with daily breakouts and dips back for a bit before it hopefully reaches the next inevitable leg up closer to ER. That would be perfectly fine with me; just flip my extra shares for gains and keep my baseline 5000 shares intact! Then if the stock loses steam before August ER hype kicks fully in I'll already have made enough money to not worry about holding bags like last time.

AVCT shot up to 4.70 this morning and is back down to just over 4 now. She'll be back!

Does anyone else here borrow on margin? If you sell for a loss on Ameritrade, even if it's a tiny one, they make you wait for funds to settle. But if you sell a winning trade, again, even a tiny win, you can immediately use those funds on something else. Not waiting for the settlement period is why I like margin trading as long as you carefully calculate risk. I just wonder if every broker has these rules or if it's only a TDAmeritrade thing.

Basically I should just make multiple accounts.

They're catching on.

God I want to go long long here so bad but I have to be responsible and secure profits if this thing pops 7 soon like the last run. That'll bring my account to like 40k (I've put a bunch more in it though so I'll only be like 4k above post GNUS and LK runs). Either release huge forward guidance now or hold off and allow for another dip plz dear corporate cloud overlords.

Also LK could make some serious moves in the near future, if you're still paying attention, Lopen! Thought about diversifying and throwing some money in them this morning, but I no longer make big trades without serious conviction anymore. But I'd bet anything it'll hit 4 again soon, where it was briefly trading at earlier this month.

Bezos is projected to be the world's first trillionaire in a decade or so, no? I assumed you got out of Amazon to get in something else that had a limited time opportunity, which I approve of because I've made these plays before! But if you thought you were going to net lose money from Amazon in the future...

Yeah that's not a thing. I still think it's a bubble that will pull back again, and same with Tesla, but if you put all your money in both stocks right now even in these bubbles, you'd be totally fine in the end. Maybe one of these days I can get in Tesla around a thousand and more Amazon shares at, I dunno, 2500ish?

Also if y'all are watching AVCT, this thing is finally ripping. Loading up under 3.5 and tripling down on this bad boy. Sorry redsox - I do agree with your assessment on overinvestments, but not with this stock! I'll let y'all know my profits when we hit 7 by the end of the week baby.

Glad GAN surged today though and I averaged down at just the right time. Yeah, averaging down on companies you've researched is definitely a good strategy. But only like the three stocks you all know I love would I ever do that for.

Stop having that mentality that you have to recoup losses to make money. It's how I lost so much of my GNUS and LK wins. Sit back, hold tight, and only buy into something you feel very strongly about. I could still be at 25k with a mere 5k drop in my account value instead of 21k. Nonetheless, I'm sincerely glad all this has happened to me because now I'm following the Dumb Money formula of information leverage on the market. GAN > WYNN in terms of upside potential

I still think GAN has a ton of room to run, especially since it's finally pulled back. The market isn't anywhere close to fully appreciating the value of that company, and that's what you want to trade on. I'd play just regular online gambling stocks over casinos every day right now, forget about a company like GAN that actually makes the software for them.

I still need more GAN shares.

Yeah, I stayed up for hours last night looking at that DD and I get why naive people thought it checked out, but they clearly don't understand that a letter of intent doesn't mean much....aaaaand all you had to do was go through their other disclosures to see that they had sent multiple notices to shareholders about extending their merger and hyping it up. It became quite obvious that it was fake.

https://www.reddit.com/r/pennystocks/comments/hrn132/paso_merger_delayed/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share

I even saved a few poor souls. Was the first person to post this on that reddit and someone else posted a thread like 5 minutes after me. I was monitoring in hopes of potentially shorting it but I have no idea how likely it would be that an OTC stock would even have had any shares to short. Would've been too late to make the big bucks shorting on open anyway.

You're overinvested in AVCT. You shouldn't be putting most of your portfolio in one stock unless it's something extremely stable like Berkshire Hathaway or Apple or something. Like you don't need a lot of diversification but having like 3-5 stocks is a world of difference from 1.

And I say 1 even though you have more than that because your exposure in AVCT is around 100% of your portfolio equity. That's effectively the same thing as putting all your money in it.

No doubt about this. When I chased it during its sudden surge I was putting most of my money on it, GNUS style. When it went down I really should have cut my losses, even as badly as a 4k loss would have hurt. I stuck with it because I believe in it and absolutely still do, but I realize that the whole "you only lose money when you sell" mentality is asinine for speculative stocks like this.

I mean, I fully expected it might drop to the levels I originally bought it at (2.12) when the end of June ER didn't have the Computex numbers or forward guidance. And now I could now be putting my capital back into it at these levels. I guess the reason I didn't is because as likely as I thought it might be that it would keep bleeding out, stocks are still unpredictable and I would've been mad if I sold and it suddenly surged again if there was PR. I didn't 100% know I would be given the opportunity to buy again this cheap, I just thought it likely.

It's pretty tricky, and I'm not sure there's even any takeaway I can have from it. Cut losses quickly even at a significant chunk of your portfolio, and even when it's a company you've researched for hours and fully believe in? Hard to swallow.

Actually, one good takeaway is that if I ever double down on a surging stock I need to get out just as fast. There was a point that my account value was at 36k and I could have closed my position. Now it's half that.

Think I'm planning to just ride GAN and LCA this week and see where they take me.

Who here has dabbled in warrants? They seem to basically just be calls with super long expiration dates? I'm thinking of getting some warrants for AVCT (AVCTW). But from what I understand, they can be sold back just like common stock, correct? The warrants for AVCT have a strike price of 11.50 (another sign for me to go long on AVCT common shares), and while I may be tempted to hold some for years, I'll probably just want to flip most of them if I can. They're incredibly cheap right now.

Came in to vote Rogue Leader but forgot Super Monkey Ball and THPS 3 existed! Went with Monkey Ball.

Run on the pre-ER hype ("it won't be that bad!") and get out right before it drops. Works every time.

nowadays they sell order flow instead of charging a commission directly

You know, I've been subconsciously wondering how brokers make money since everything is commission-free (besides the tiny fees of options trading), so googling this was pretty enlightening.

It would be cool to own some Ameritrade shares while using Ameritrade.

holy shit Tesla is at almost 1550 now. wasn't paying attention to my watch list and just saw it

Goddamn am I salty my limit order for 10 shares didn't go through. It was on the day it crossed $1,000 (like what, barely a week ago?) and I was trying to get in as low as possible. When it didn't go through, I put more money in GAN which still made me money, but not Tesla money.

Really regret caring about that. Again, I only care so much about timing because I was borrowing on margin, and I was a little nervous the Tesla run was over (whereas GAN is just beginning). But I literally had the open order up for like an hour and everything :*(

I was somewhat tempted to do some puts for SOLO but why bother with it when GAN, LCA, PTON, XELA, AVCT, etc. are all things!

Speaking of which, every time I get worried about those 11k bags the CLOUD gods hold over me, I read stuff like this:

https://www.crn.com/news/channel-programs/computex-looks-to-grow-acquire-during-covid-19-crisis

I'm so long on this stock it's making me hard.
