We (Magic) should be trash this year and should try tank for picks. So I absolutely expect us to do the best job of fucking that up by making the playoffs as an 8 seed with like 34 wins because loleast

We trade Oladipo + Sabonis for Ibaka
We trade Ibaka for Terrence Ross + 25th Pick
We trade 25th pick for a either a Top 20 protected OKC 2020 pick or OKC's 2022 + 2023 2nd round pick if that doesn't convey


So basically Magic could have had George but instead ended up with Terrence Ross + a Top 20 Protected 1st or 2 2nd rounders 4-5 years down the line.

I mean Paul George doesn't make us anything other than a borderline playoff team but jesus fucking christ it's depressing seeing what we could have had and what we actually ended up with

Well most of those matches we have already seen haven't we? I remember my match against the Patriots being close points wise although I have no idea if it was statistics wise.

Basically though, the rule on parsers really is you can use it as a tool for your own sake, but use it to brag or harass or other shit along those lines and you'll meet a hammering. Meter toxicity like in WoW is something that gets you banned.

Really? The only time I've heard people getting banned due to parsers was because FFlogs very clearly showed them cheating to increase DPS which then got reported to SE.

It's bad that I now look for if my divisional rivals lose before checking if I win.

That being said, no longer in the playoffs, maybe tankathon is on! Me beating the Broncos would have made that playoff picture more interesting but see are fighting over a first round elimination anyway!

Caverns wasn't OP, it was just extremely polarizing like you say (Although That wasn't what you said at the time). That nerf basically makes it unplayable though.

That's also a stealth nerf to aggro decks too as there will now be a lot more decks that check them seeing play

If you're leaving somewhere, why do the sign and trade instead of just opting out and going there for free? Like I'm sure there's a logical reason for it (more money?) but you're weakening the team you're going to by doing that

See this is how I thought the season would go at the end of last season. And then I didn't get many retirements and had a good start and it got my hopes up. That I'm still the most likely AFC North team to make the playoffs is amazing.

I'd say I'm not even sure I want to make the playoffs at this point given my record but I don't have my 1st anyway and I guess anyone can go on a lucky win streak at season end (although very unlikely)

I can't even say I blooded players this year as I didn't start young guys and not like I'll see increases off performance at this rate. Being in the playoff situation makes it difficult to throw youngsters in too...

I still have my account and the game is still installed but I don't play right now. I basically finished up Rhapsodies of Vanadiel and called it a day as I had finished everything in game at that point and it was a fitting end

I could probably be coerced into playing again as I know some friends still play

What has just dawned on me is the fact that when we traded up for Payton a few years back (for Saric plus a future 1st), we effectively gave up the 2017 #5 pick. I'm pretty sure it was the 76'ers 2017 1st in that deal that we gave back to them (which they then exercised their swap rights with the Kings to make it #3 and then traded up to #1)

If I'm remembering right, that seems such a shoddy deal in hindsight (2014 #12 and 2017 #5 for 2014 #10)

What I don't get is why did we trade the 25 and 35 picks when we have needs everywhere? If you're trading them, trade up or trade for a player. Trading for future picks 2-3 years down the line that are likely to be worse than the picks we gave up for them just confuses me. I don't understand what we're trying to accomplish.

Yeah, gil was selling for like $40 a mil at the time and I had 400m+ to sell.

I was one of the leaders for a high end HNMLS and we merced out kills/equipment. The prices people were willing to pay was ridiculous at times, especially after updates. Some members bitched about it but most realized it was far better to sell drops for crazy amounts whilst demand was stupid and then distribute to members once demand died down. Updates were always the best times because you'd get 100m+ for items that would drop down to like 5m within weeks but people are stupid.

Although our best money earner (granted this was long after I cashed out and returned) was Arch Dynamis Lord. ADL always dropped 1-2 marrows. Marrows sold for 30-40m for a solid 6 months because only a handful of people across all servers could kill it and you needed 5 to upgrade your relic. We could generally kill 4-6 ADL's per run and we ran it 2-3 times weekly. The typical LS member who attended every run was walking away with like 40=50m gil a week as we were killing it with like 10 people (the rest of the alliance being account 'mules' who were there solely to either Astral Flow, Soul Voice or use the Corsair 2hr ability to try reset other peoples 2 hour abilities)

Delve was also super fun for a while (again long after I cashed out). We were world firsts on kills for it and had a monopoly on it for a few weeks where people would literally server transfer to us to get the kill. That was because the title from completing Delve enabled you to buy items with points. So not only were we selling the drops for 100m+ per item, we were also charging people 50m+ to literally enter the zone and do nothing in order to get the kill title.

By the time we were farming ADL and Delves, gil was only like $5-10 a mil and I was in a 6 figure job so it was never worth me selling the earnings. Although I know multiple members were unemployed and totally did that.

Hoping we go for some sort of PG next. Maybe Jawun Evans

Ravens and Bengals aren't eliminated in your scenario btw. Purely because of how awful the AFC North is. They are only 3 games back from division lead with 5 games remaining.

EDIT: Lol, I've just realized that AFC North lead is potentially only good enough for 3rd or lower in every single other division pending tiebreakers. And it may even be ranked below the NFC East bottom team right now (Definitely is if Redskins beat Steelers next week)

Well generally you either have the culture to attract big name players or you need to find an all star from somewhere (draft, trade, FA). As it seems to be nowadays you have to already have a star player in order for any other star player / fringe star to even consider coming to you.

It's why so many teams get mired in NBA hell. Not good enough to do anything or attract big players but not bad enough to get the top picks for potential stars. Well that or terrible management / bad picks.

On Mike and Mike this morning they threw out this interesting fact. Ainge has been GM since 2003 and has had 38 Celtics draft picks. He has yet to draft a single all star.

As an fyi it won't kick you if it 'thinks' you're doing something. So if you talk to an npc or marketboard or retainer and never close the textbox/ menu then it thinks you're active

Basically if you know you're going afk, start a conversation with nearest npc and walk away. Never get kicked. I've used it to avoid login queues since 2.0

The problem with the WotL translation is exactly what has already been said. Certain exchanges lose all their snappiness and no longer evoke the emotion they should.

I had a lecturer that once drilled it into us that 'You might be a literary genius but your characters are not'. It makes sense for the upper class to speak as they do in WotL (although it should be toned down), it does not make sense for every single character regardless of background to speak like that.

Also, in the midst of battle you are hardly going to have those type of conversations. It should be short and snappy because they are about to run a sword through a bitch. They are not discussing the intricacies of the social system over a nice meal.
