People don't seem to realize how ISPs do business. I'm a design engineer. I design fiber and coax networks. So I work with them from pre-construction walkouts all the way to the point they run a drop to your house. Here's the flat out truth.

ISPs are crooked assholes.

In the 4 years I've been dealing with them government regulations only came up once. It was when the FCC made a term of the Charter/Time Warner merger that they had to run overbuild. That was a good regulation. It meant that if there was only one ISP in your area, they had to share the pole lines or conduit with them, the competition. Guess what The current administration just lifted that rule. So don't blame the government for the problems with ISPs. They pretty much make their own rules, that's why they suck.
I can give you a laundry list of the shady shit they do on a regular basis, if you feel like hating them even more. You don't even want to know why your bill is so high, and the degree to which the completely waste money. It's staggering.

I used to love playing Magic. I'm probably sitting on about $30,000 worth of cards going back to Alpha/Beta. Sadly, it's just not worth playing any more. Like so many other things, the younger generation ruined it. I used to get together with people back in the day, and everyone would have unique decks to play. You never knew how the games were going to play out, and they frequently went on for hours.
Not too long ago I went down to a bookstore near me where people get together and play casual. It was terrible. There was probably about 20 people there, most in their late teens, early twenties. Almost every single one of them was playing a modern copy/paste tournament deck they found online. If their deck didn't pop on the third or fourth turn, they got pissy and conceded. I don't think I had a game last more than 5 minutes.

The action max was awesome, and it's still awesome. It was basically VHS blaster games. People are still making mods for it. They set it up so you can set target indicators over any video, so now when everyone gets shitfaced together, you can compete to see can shoot Justin Bieber in his stupid face the most. Did you tell them it was mandatory overtime? If not, you can't right them up. Everywhere I've worked with voluntary overtime, it was exactly that. You can come and go as you please.
