Keep in mind Final Fantasy Saga collection is extremely retro, they were fairly impressive for their day on the GB hardware but they are outdated as fuck in the year 2022.

If you love retro gaming like more than anything else, you might still enjoy them but for they are so past their prime it's unreal. I am not just referencing graphics either, game design, level design, etc. They really needed a full remake by Square-Enix to draw in new players in my opinion. The games still are special for me since I grew up with the games but most won't have that.

It was overrated at the time it came out when people were talking about it as if it was the greatest movie ever created by humans, and people were talking about committing suicide because of how depressed they were that Pandora wasn't real and they could never go there. It's also what sparked the boom of everyone assuming 3D was the wave of the future for films. It had a huge impact... in the short-term.

Time since has led a lot of people to reevaluate how they felt about it. Partly because people realized that it was a fairly mediocre movie apart from the visuals, and that sort of thing doesn't tend to hold up over time. Partly because the 3D boom led to a 3D bust. Partly because all the furries moved on and found other characters they wanted to fuck and draw Rule 34 of. And partly because waiting 12 years to produce a sequel left even the most enthusiastic fans somewhat apathetic.

The opinion most people have of it today really isn't the same as it was back when it first came out.

And if we're going to be honest, as much as a lot of us assume the sequels are going to be bombs because no one cares about it any more, the mouth-breathers will probably come out in droves to watch the pretty pictures again, and there's a good chance people will praise it to the moon as being the films that "helped save movie theaters after Covid" or other effusive praise. Because people are stupid, and history repeats itself because we never really learn from our mistakes.

I never heard a single person claim it was the greatest movie ever made, I heard people reference the effects and 3D as some of the best ever done for it's day and that is a far more logical statement.

Maybe some die hard Avatar fanboys were parading the movie around like that. I do remember some dressing up as Na'Vi and saying silly shit like reality was ruined for them. Overall it sure as fuck didn't impact the average American in the grand scheme beyond it being a popular movie for it's day. You can tell when most haven't even seen the movie at all in the past 10 years, the lasting impact was nowhere near any other noteworthy movie of the same decade.

Shit, even when looking at the top 10 grossing films of all time without adjusting for inflation it's probably the least impactful of all of them. Now if the sequel can knock it out of the park and really bring some attention to Avatar in general that might change.

That can be the case, but it isn't always. That October 2020 figure for Genshin is the most profitable month overall. September 2021 and January 2022 are close but the rest are substantially lower. The other thing to consider is downloads. Diablo is estimated at 8.5 million downloads over the same period that it earned 24 million. Genshin Impact had 6 million downloads for the two days of September 2020 it was out and 18 million for October. Again, that second month is the highest by far with every month since then averaging around 5-6 million.

So I think what will be telling is what the next month's numbers look like.

Well Genshin is a unique case I remember people being hyped as fuck when it came out, I heard stuff like Breath of the Wild but with Gacha or the first big time AAA game on Mobile. You have to remember when Candy Crush hit the scene it wasn't some huge game changer it was Bejeweled sorta but with a few unique changes.

Genshin was one of the most hyped Mobile games I have ever seen and to be fair their Waifu factor is off the charts, Genshin has some of the best looking characters in all of gaming. Even if you think Waifu shit is dumb millions around the globe care about it a lot.

The thing is, is $24 million actually a lot? Like if you look a Genshin Impact, it earned $14.24 million for September 2020, despite launching on 9/28. October 2020 it made $175.91 million. Now they don't list out what regions it was available in at that time and we know that Diablo isn't in China yet, but that is still a SUBSTANTIAL difference in earnings between the two.

Figures are from App Magic, which is the same source quoted for Diablo so it should be fairly apples to apples as far as that goes.

I'm not saying it won't end up making them money, but currently we just have one month without a lot of context as to how it compares to other games.

In the world of mobile games they don't always hit peak profitability early on, Candy Crush for instance was making a lot more on their game years down the line then they did in their first year.

Mobile is nothing like normal video games where typically most of the sales will come in the first month or so.

I have a feeling most teachers might use the gun to defend themselves directly, but asking them to be as bad ass as someone like John McClaine or something is a fucking joke. You also have to factor in kids getting their hands on the gun, or other incidents like that which are very possible. The more chaotic a situation gets the harder it is to get a good shot at someone, so the more screaming and movement it takes more and more precise training to get a accurate shot.

As NRA folks are fond of pointing out, if guns are banned, those who want to kill others will use other methods. By and large, guns do a better job than most others, but even without guns, you still see knife attacks (usually with dramatically lower casualty counts), vehicle attacks (which can be comparable), and bombings (which can be comparable). On top of that, banning guns altogether creates other issues, not least of which is the fact that there are a lot of guns in the US and you'd inevitably end up with a whole lot of non-law-abiding people making things very dangerous for those that gave theirs up.

Ultimately, having guns around isn't inherently bad, it's just a matter of keeping them out of the hands of people that would do harm with them and identifying those that are at risk of causing harm with or without guns. Every gun sold should require a criminal background check, safety certification, and recent psych evaluation, as well as a mandatory two-week waiting period (which has been overwhelmingly demonstrated to significantly reduce suicides by firearm). Every gun owned should be effectively secured (with ammo secured separately) at all times when not in use (carrying counting as "use"). Gun owners need to be held legally accountable for ensuring that guns are not used by unlicensed users, including assigning some liability for any crime committed with their gun if it has not been reported stolen (and even then, if it's stolen because it was inadequately secured, there should be penalties for that negligence).

Will these measures fix the entire problem? Obviously not. But that last point in particular would go a long way toward stopping teenagers from taking their parents' guns and shooting up schools with them, which accounts for many school shootings, and mental health assessments and waiting periods are critical for keeping crises from driving people to commit gun violence. On top of that, there need to be better mental health supports all around, including anti-bullying efforts (in both schools and workplaces), for the sake of preventing those crises from happening in the first place.

I would much rather have a guy going crazy with a knife trying to kill people than an assault rifle. It's far easier to get distance from that guy and he has to usually spend more time killing each person, firing 50 rounds into a crowd usually does a lot more damage faster then even the most expert knife wielder on Earth.

The NRA is fucking stupid, they act like well it would just happen with other things when those things are far less efficient at killing people. No one has a problem with the Government restricting people owning a fully operational tank but once we start talking about banning assault rifles or making them harder to get watch out.

And the vast majority of mass shootings happen in gun-free zones.

Or, you know, put the gameboy in your pocket. But considering the GBA-SP was disco'd 15 years ago or so, it doesn't feel like something you need to worry about.

200+ years ago they knew there'd always be people who abused rights, but didn't see that as an excuse to take them away. And you should be happy about that, considering some of the protections.

Mexico has far stricter gun control than the US yet more mass shootings. And the gun violence has only increased as the gun control has.

Otherwise, the US is the third-most populous nation in the world. And the nations more populated than us have similar problems with random mass violence,

Mexico also has a huge problem with drug cartel's shit the violence there is so bad as you drive down highways you see groups of police with military weaponry like mounted machine guns. Whatever drug problem we have here is magnified 100 times in that place.

Even in the more touristy areas you can still run into this stuff, so it's not just in the shithole cities like Tijuana.

The idea that these shooters fall under the typical scope of mental illness is largely bunk. Shooters often aren't diagnosed with any mental illnesses, and when they are, these illnesses aren't usually typified by mass violence.

Well the ones truly facing mental issues are the ones more likely to become a serial killer that will prey on one type of person. Ted Bundy is psychotic and insane and if he was released before he was killed would 100% do what he did in the past, but he likely would never do a mass shooting.

So yeah slapping that label on every shooter is a bit odd.

The more adult ones seem to keep them together mostly, kids for instance will make a lot of random things with pieces. It's basically why they love Minecraft so much they can build whatever they want, with a reasonable sized Lego collection this is also true.

Pro builders that spend in some cases 100's of hours can also make some incredible things, at a convention back in like 2016 I saw a giant aircraft carrier that had to be like 12 or so feet long custom Lego build it was impressive.

One thing that really impacts the price of the Lego is how many unique pieces it has. They actually used to have more sets back in the day with unique pieces that were only used in that set, so that would make their cost to create far higher.

These days they typically don't have as many unique pieces, maybe that Lego track one does. I wouldn't be surprised to see it use more than a few pieces you can't find in other Lego sets. It doesn't really matter whether or not the coins are stolen. You still need to find a buyer who actually appreciates the appraised value of the coins and is willing to pay that amount. The average person can't just walk into their local cash-for-gold dealer or pawn shop and have the person behind the counter pull out a copy of Numismatics Monthly and offer you $30k for them. You need to go through specialist dealers.

High-end collector value items in general are hard as fuck to sell. Because you generally have to go through tons of channels that the average person doesn't really have access to and won't necessarily know how to get in touch with. Which is why appraised value for "collectors' items" can be misleading as hell - you may never be able to get that much for them if you can't find a buyer.

I can own a pristine mint condition copy of Action Comics #1, but unless I can find someone who is actually aware of what it tends to go for and is willing to pay that much, it's not much more than pretty toilet paper. The more expensive the item, the harder it becomes to sell.

So yes, for a criminal looking for a quick buck, it's still generally more efficient to just sell off for a minimal amount than to try and full collector value. Because you're at least getting some money out of it, which is more than you had when you started. Rather than going to the trouble of trying to get in touch with specialist dealers, which can actually increase the odds that you'll eventually be pegged for the initial theft.

Even if you have a proper fence you will be lucky to get 50% the value of the coins in general. I assume the 30k estimate is the retail price like if you walked into a coin shop and wanted to buy those coins.

Yes you do slowly build that up but it stops eventually each character has a set # of cards and it's not a huge a list, and even then you can't guarantee those cards will be offered. Games like MTG are where deck construction before you even play a game is a huge aspect of the game, StS is more a deck building game where as you play you build a deck up.

The downside of the StS formula is if you really like card X you could do like 4 runs with that character and not see it once. Meanwhile with MTG if you really love card X you can put it in all the decks that have access to that color of mana.

definitely Slay the Spire

You don't really collect cards in this on a long term basis, you build a deck for that run and once you die or win it's gone. I love Slay the Spire but it's nothing like say MTG or Hearthstone which allow you to adjust and build decks using your collection.

TC, most games that have a card collection and let you build decks will have mtx it's the nature of the thing. Now you can play many of them for free and slowly build up a collection, but paying is way easier and faster.

6 months prep and $1 million for a game where you could theoretically be in the jungle of Jumani for decades?

Umm no thanks, the game relies heavily on everyone finishing the game no matter what, if anyone nopes out before that someone could get screwed. In fact you could claim that the main reason why they beat the game in the first Jumanji is Robin Williams vast experience with the dangers of Jumanji.

Only 6 more years to go!

Seriously though this is likely a placeholder date in the Steam system. You can find the same thing on Amazon sometimes if they don't know the release date of a game it will just say December 31st of that year.

You can't experience the true peak Final Fantasy until you play Tactics and FF VI.
