She'd still be in the spirit realm where a bunch of monsters would love to eat her, so not a huge upgrade. The real reason she refused was probably because there wouldn't be a plot otherwise.

Oh I thought you meant she was given the option to go back to the human realm or something and I'd completely forgetten about it. I think she just had a sense that the debt was her responsibility so she shouldn't take the easy route. I didn't like the old tengu guy though, so I didn't blame her for not wanting to go with him.

The ogre god does grow as the show goes on but it won't become radically different right away or anything. I thought the early part of Kakuriyo was a nice counter to Ancient Magus Bride. Both had girls forced into weird marriage arrangements, but while AMB's Chise just blandly went along with it because she was poorly written, Kakuriyo's Aoi goes 'lolno' and seeks another way. You aren't really supposed to like the ogre in the beginning, he's a force Aoi needs to overcome.

Still, I did say I wasn't sure you'd enjoy it back when you asked!

I got bored at work and checked this contest's results against the actual bracket (like, Cuphead going out earlier means Dante wins the match and moves forward). Totally pointless but still kinda neat.

KOS-MOS is currently furthest in the bracket, waiting for either Sephiroth or Amaterasu. So far there have only been three instances of someone skipping two matches forward because their next opponent had already been eliminated, though quite a few will happen as more first round matches are decided.
