Goff will be surprisingly good fantasy wise. The rams offense has some weapons tbh. Oline should be ok too. I'm in a 2QB league with Brees/Roethlisberger (2QB leagues suck in 12 team leagues, not enough starters for each team to have a bye backup), but I got Goff as my 3rd.

just asking, can you guys rate my 12 team, .5 ppr draft? Ive been in this league for 13 years now and we switched to 2 qbs (in a 12 team which is stupid) this year, so each team cant even have 2 starters and a backup

QB: Brees
WR: Nelson
WR: Martavis Bryant
WR: J. Matthews
RB: Hunt
RB: Powell
TE: Olsen
W/R/T: Gillislee
Q/W/R/T (So QB if you want to win): Roethlisberger
K: Boswell
DEF: Seattle

BN: T. West
BN: Moncrief
BN: Perriman
BN: M. Lee
BN: Fleener
BN: Goff

RB is i think my weakest spot, but overall I like it.

Steelers pick up Joe Haden. Should be a good spot for him. Can play man to man (what they need to compete with NE), and will be their number 2 with Artie Burns being their main guy. William Gay being their slot CB where he is actually really good, just terrible on the ends. Haden isnt quite what he used to be though, the price tag being kinda high

I guess were just going to have to agree to disagree. I think plenty of people lie and/or exaggerate themselves on social media, and its honestly the norm. Maybe your specific friends are some of the good ones fine, but its more than just "clickbait articles". And just because you lie on social media once doesnt mean you are some awful person. I never once said that.

I'd be willing to bet that some of your FB friends/people on B8 have said things that are at least exaggerated to a large degree, yes.

I have anecdotes of people misguiding myself and others (and themselves tbh), should my anecdotes be taken as seriously as yours? I mean people mentioned ulti itt and being facebook friends with him. Was he completely honest with what he presented about his life on a month by month or year by year basis? Maybe getting too individually personal with that question idk.

Do you really think most people are completely honest on social media, even your specific friends? If so ya we probably aren't getting anywhere, even if we seemed to agree on quite a bit itt.

This is a really quick way of saying it, but what I'm saying is we can all say we are for equality and 50/50 (or whatever ratio is equality) ratios everywhere between races/genders/etc. But on the individual level people still want the same stuff everyone in the past has wanted. 2) They arent really waning. You are seeing marriage rates plummet a lot faster than people accepting these new changes

Doesn't that kind of fly in the face of society's biggest fear being "dying alone"?

If marriage rates are declining, maybe more people are realizing that your self worth should not come from an external source

No. Marriage rates are declining because people are angry and bitter at everyone due to their own unhappiness. We keep saying we want change but nobody really steps up and practices the change at their own personal level.

Leftist women and men (which younger people are more likely to be, and 20/30 somethings are the ones most looking for love and not being alone)
Women: "End gender roles, down with the patriarchy!" "The things i want most in a man is to be slightly older, ambitious, has a solid stable job, tall", aka a patriarchy.

Men: "All women are beautiful, stop slut shaming/fat shaming! I want women to be in positions of power". Still wants a relatively thin woman who hasn't slept with 50 men, and (yes, i agree with some others who have said this here) he makes more money than (again i agree this is partially due to insecurity).

I think the right wing is more often wrong than the left ideologically, but i do think the one area the right deserves praise is they seem to be at least more honest about what they want in the opposite sex, which is a very important aspect to society.

Ghostbusters hate, gamergate, Trump himself, etc are all symptoms of the problem. They are the male side of this unhappiness/fear of dying alone/anger showing. Destructive and stupid imo, but when I say my piece it usually gets immediately disregarded. Thanks to everyone itt for having some pretty good discussion honestly.

I think everyone probably wants similar education level. Do men want less educated women?

The rest of your claims, for however much they still apply, are waning, and patriarchal society established the trends in the first place.

Why historically have women wanted well to do men? Possibly because women weren't generally allowed to have successful careers until just a few generations ago maybe?

1) I dont think they care as much. Its not a bad thing, but there is a lot more proof that men CAN find less educated women attractive

2) They arent really waning. You are seeing marriage rates plummet a lot faster than people accepting these new changes

3) This is pretty much the whole "once women have the good jobs" argument that 2nd wavers say and continues to be echoed. Its been more or less untrue, with most people going the single or being in a permanent "eh dating" stage at best rather than actually seeing a woman who makes upper 5 figs/low 100k range marry the man making 35k. Across all socioeconomic levels women still prefer a high earning man, men dont care nearly as much.

No offense, but when somebody says the "once x gets y z will happen!" prediction I just view it as desire and not truth.

"Once the government assumes the wealth it will distribute it evenly"
"Once there are no regulations and low taxes on mega corps they will create jobs!"
"Once women have the good jobs theyll marry the men with bad ones!"

Human behavior hasn't really changed that much over generations. I don't even know if its possible to do so.

I mean even amongst millennials (where 3rd wave feminism is most prominent), you can't deny that women still seem to want the same thing every prior generation of women want. Men to be 1 to like 6 years older, make a similar amount if not more, similar education level or higher, and tall. Thats been the path to a positive life for a man since....a long ass time.

Nothing different really. Its different now that im in my late 20s/early 30s, but thats because men at my age are more established, and women in their early to mid 30s are more open to slightly younger i suppose (still not much younger but maybe a year or two). When you are in your early/mid 20s? Nah the vast majority of women want to date older men.

Fwiw, anecdotally, my mother was plenty open to dating a man who made less than her. Many guys she went on dates with were, in her words, "visibly bothered" when she told them she had an mba. Very few men want to be with a woman who is more educated than they are. And @HanOfTheNekos can confirm that it's not because my mom is fugly.

Misogynist men who are intimated by independent and educated women are likely to be just as much a reason why women don't procreate with men who earn less than they do as women tending to not be attracted to unmotivated losers with no ambition.

Not saying its a factor, but a lot of it is also fear. Men at all age ranges throughout their lives USUALLY have been rejected by women of higher status. When I asked out women just 1 to 2 years older than me in my early 20s, i was rejected. 1-2 years younger? Still rejected often but much less so. Similarly for money this applies. Some of it is on men. I do think the conversation needs to be about women's expectations of men in this equality driven world though

But why put the honus more on women to change that? Society as a whole can change that.

Because people want relationships, love and sex, and every culture that has dating "for love" is man approaches woman, woman decides if hes datable.

I don't deny we still live in a patriarchy in a sense. Not the way feminists define it, but men are at the top of the totem pole in just about every society the world has ever seen, still today (there are also a LOT of men who are at the absolute bottom of the totem pole too though). However we never discuss how women's behavior contributes to it, or if we do its precursored with a war and peace length novel about how men are more evil.

Somebody has to step up to the plate and actually break down the gender roles, not just say "i want to break down gender roles". This includes women, and is rarely (if ever discussed). You can't say "end the patriarchy!, but i want a man whose older than me, makes similar if not more amount of money as me, and is tall and ambitious!". Thats.....the patriarchy.

It similar to what i call the "senator effect". Everyone hates congress, but thinks their senators are the only "good ones", because people are fucking stupid.

The only way we can get rid of a patriarchy is if women approach men 50% of the time, date men younger than them 50% of the time, less educated, lesser earning, pay for them, etc. Quotas go both ways. I'm only for women in stem, women in the senate, women in college quotas if there are equivalent quotas for men in where they lack. And then we go down the route of serious societal engineering.

That's a bad argument

Why? I hear "thats a bad argument" with NO substance every time.

Its not anyway, unemployed men is the number 1 cause of divorce. Its also significantly harder to get dates/romance/casual sex/healthy non sexual relationships as a unemployed man than woman.

Yes, some men work 80 hours a week for that 1% extra chance to getting the 200k upper tier management job or better. Those are also a small amount of positions.

The real problem is in the 5 figure salary range, where like 95% of salaried jobs are located. Men really want those 80 to 100k a year jobs (which stem grads have easily, i started at 70k after college in a really cheap place to live) due to the level of status it brings in the eyes of women.

However they (ill admit, im guilty here too tbh) see a lot of more positive responses from women here, across every socioeconomic status of women. Women who are doctors (nearly 50% of med school grads have been women since like the mid 90s) aren't marrying men who make 30 to 40k a year. At least not enough. Most are choosing to remain single if they don't find a man who makes a comparable salary. When you combine that with the fact that dying alone is the number one fear our generation has (and probably the onest before it), people get angry and pissed.

I hate to say it like this, but there is added incentive for men to be more powerful than women in our society, in world history for that matter. This drives a lot of men's actions. A lot of society is fueled by sex

We had this discussion with one of our clients recently, a guy who was thinking about being a stay at home dad. People said that it's harder for a man to re-enter the professional workforce than a woman. They said it's harder for men to justify a large gap in their employment history.

I don't like the idea of judging your self-worth by your career either. But a lot of people do it.

Right, I'm not denying that it's reality for many men.

But we can work to change that.

At this point that involves women changing way more than men. Telling a woman to change is like misogyny 101 in the eyes of feminists. The whole "once women have the good jobs" argument has been proven false at this point as well.

Do you really think that option is available to as many men as it is women? I mean to be a stay at home dad it kinda requires a mother since they are the ones who you know....give birth. Women tend to want an employed man doing fairly well because the biological consequences of sex is pretty much 100% on the woman.

Theres a lot of money in tech in the USA, and men chase money more than women do, and for a longer period of time. Fun fact, Iran graduates more women in stem than men now. India graduates plenty of people (including women!) in stem. Those places also pay their programmers significantly less for work than the USA does, even with respect to cost of living differences.

Its shown that women in the USA who go into tech now tend to be from lower income backgrounds. Women coming from higher socio economic backgrounds tend to go into liberal arts type stuff. Men of all socioeconomic backgrounds are willing (at least more willing, there is a shortage of stem in the USA period, not just women honestly) to go into tech.

Its not really so much that "women's brains can't do the work", the work isn't that complex that the differences between mens and womens brains is the factor (there are some differences between most mens and womens brains fwiw, not necessarily one being better than the other). Its moreso that coding in western countries (where it pays a lot) is a bigger path to a positive male identity. Fun fact, most women like men who earn good money. And it has nothing to do with "once women have the good jobs theyll marry gas station employees!" crap that 2nd wave feminists argue. Most women who have MBAs making 70 to 100k want to marry men of at least similar status. Also, childless millennial women outearn childless millennial men fwiw, and the same thing happened when Gen X were in their 20s/30s. The 77 cents stat is extremely misguided.

I just think people need to realize that men pretty much its either work or prison. Women get work, prison, or stay at home wife/mother in the current economic climate of sitting in offices. It doesn't mean they shouldnt be allowed in tech, or president, or whatever. But people just need to realize that a career is more important to a man's mental health than it is to a woman's, as we get fewer options.
