He's most likely wrong about it being some big conspiracy or something, but I dont think you realize how much money is in boosters of college football, and I'm sure those are almost all republican types. I'd think their power would be stripped somewhat if there was no football. To say the only people hurt by the lockdown would be the athletes that are mostly black is kinda near sighted. There is a LOT of money in college football, and the main recepiants of it are far from the players. The players obviously lose their chance to showcase their talents for a chance for a big payday by being a first round pick, but thats far from the only people who lose by this.

For the record, we shouldnt be playing sports at all right now tbh (especially team sports and high contact sports like MMA), and i doubt it gets better by early Sept.

Muffin is honestly correct when he says college football is the most "republican" or "conservative" or whatever of the 6 major sports leagues people watch (NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, NCAAF, NCAAB. If you include MLS for 7 its still obviously the most conservative). Also Notre Dame and Ohio State are pretty shitty examples against his point, as Notre Dame is a Christian school and people dont realize how redneck and backwoods Ohio is. Especially the southern part of the state and western parts.

I mean since social media revolutionized recruiting in 2007 as well, the most powerful schools have pretty much been entirely in the SEC (Bama, LSU, Florida, UGA, Auburn), Clemson (south carolina), Ohio State, and like the occasional Oregon or something, and Oregon had Nike bankrolling it.

http://www.thepostgame.com/blog/dish/201303/how-politics-correlate-sports-interests

Pretty interesting breakdown.

Online classes are mostly bullshit. But they are cheaper in theory, so it should lower tuition. But it doesnt. If the class is some absurdly easy course online is fine. But any class with some decent complexity having people to interact with in a room is much more efficient and in general better for learning

But ya college is also about actually meeting people to build connections with. Then again when you walk around a campus these days (well pre covid) the amount of people who walk from class to class with their headphones in and no communication with anyone is just pathetic. It was pretty bad in my day, im sure its even worse now

To be fair, from what i understand Hawley was saying they should be allowed to put those messages on their jerseys (doubt any player would though), but the NBA and NBAPA agreed on a set of messages to be allowed to be on their jersey.

I support BLM, but I lost a bit of respect for the NBA when they didn't allow Hong Kong messages earlier this year, mostly because the NBA is kinda being bought by mainland China more and more.

the superbosses pain for me was just luck sphere farming, because the monsters to fight in the arena all had long counterattacks.

You need a large chunk of the sphere grid for sure for the super bosses. What i did was completed the whole grid in terms of movement, but didnt fill each node. Had to move everyone around twice lol.

But i think most people hate the butterflies and lightning dodging because it was part of the FFX PS2 version

Self-driving cars wouldn't entirely cut out transportation jobs. Like, even if self-driving cars were fully available, I'd still prefer to use public transport because then I don't have the hassle and expense of car ownership. (Also I expect the train is faster than getting stuck in rush hour traffic jams and whatnot)

Its not the point of "not all will go away" its the point that the premise of it drastically shrinks the human participation in the workforce. Ok so maybe not all 10% of the workforce that transportation represents goes away. Even if its only half of the total transportation jobs, its still going to increase human purposelessness which leads to loneliness and bitterness.

This modern era of AI and automation began due to you know what of you know when

Really? I have always found pullups to be the most meaningful exercise back wise (im a leg day disciple when it comes to deadlifts) so ive always wanted to get the most out of them. I find myself doing 50% weight or reps on pullups if i put them in the middle at the end after my lats and stuff are used up. I may give it a shot though and see what it looks like these days

I do deads on back day so i lead off with that. I'd argue deads do more for your back than pullups as well, not that pullups arent great though. To me pullups are the do it last because they will usually take a lot out of you, making the rest of the workout less effective. Sure you wont do as many pullups as you could if you lead off, but meh youll live.

The most impressive thing to me is the pull ups in the middle right after some super draining lifts. I have to put pullups as my first on those days or else they fall the fuck off

I recommend saving pull ups for the near end. They are one of the tougher exercises and drain a lot from you, so the rest of the workout can get really sloppy if you do the first thing. At least thats what my experiejce has been.

Of course certain days it doesnt matter as much. Ill occasionally do a few sets of pull ups even on leg days just for some blood flow to the upper body, it probably doesnt matter then

had a great workout today, getting almost back to where i was tbh, probably need another month but im happy where im at.

Barbell deadlift: 135x10, 225x10, 315x8, 405x8, 495x4, 535x2, 405x5x3
Pullover machine: 225x10x5
Isolateral plate row: 315x10x5
Pull ups: 20/16/12/10/10
One arm dumbbell row: 110x12x5
Bicep curls: 25x10x2, 35x10x2, 45x8x1

Took a bit longer between sets than normal, still not quite at my deadlift max, but im really happy with things given the fact that I stopped going to the gym from about early march through late may if I recall.

Legs tomorrow unless my hamstrings are a bit more sore from deadlifts.

Netflix streaming begins, Modern era AI starts around this time with IBM Watson, Twitters semi famous 07 SXSW conference which started their boom in popularity, etc.

Wanglicious posted... while social media has shown a variety of problems in us as people - and revealed some seriously critical failures like our attention span - it's not really the problem. forums are social media before we had an all encompassing term for it too, it's literally just people talking, spreading information. any limitation on that is realistically the maximization of all the virtues and vices that people inherently have. if social media is the problem it's because humanity's got serious issues.

Yes yes, the printing press contributed to 'social media'. Everyone knows wtf i mean when I say it. The centralized internet. The 'everything you buy is connected to the internet' culture. 3G/4G/5G in our pockets giving us infinite timesinks as long as the battery is charged, etc.

trump acting like an idiot isn't social media's fault

it sure is, when everyone else using it acts like an idiot too, especially since acting like an idiot on the platform is what builds your brand most of the time.

Social media is the number 1 cause of all the worlds problems today. The amount of jealousy, rage, fear it generates is insane. And im not even talking about fake news. I'm talking about people who basically lie or stretch the truth of their personal lives which causes the anger. Or people who get jealous that a person has more likes/followers/subscribers than them. Its becoming the new way we describe our 'net worth' even.

The general psychological effects of social media is easily the number one cause of all these alt right movements cropping up. Trump, Bolsonero, Boris Johnson/Brexit, Swedish Democrats being the fastest growing party in Sweden these days, etc.

This executive order is what happens when the potus has the same issues with the psychological damage that social media use causes.

its definitely better to be at a gym to workout than at home. Getting into a routine at home requires way more discipline like you said, but its doable. Avoid having lots of distractions while working out at home. Turn off any tv in the room/other rooms. I still have an MP3 player for the gym, both home and in normal times to avoid texting and what not. But i understand everyone's phone is their music player now so you prob dont have that option.

I read a few years ago that people feel more distracted at their home than anywhere else, which was a radical shift from how people viewed the home in other eras of time. So honestly working out at home is harder to do for sure, even if you had access to the same equipment.
