I haven't taken it (took the GREs, though). It looks like it's an adaptive test, which is kind of a pain in the ass. So it basically works like a binary search, where the questions get harder as you answer questions right or easier if you answer them incorrectly. This means that the earlier questions are disproportionately weighted, and you can't come back to check earlier questions. Make sure you're prepared for that kind of test.

There's really no reason for it to be called the "god particle." The name just kind of stuck. The reason it's important is because it's what gives elementary particles mass, and because it's the last elementary particle in the standard model that needed to be shown to exist.

Seems likely that there's a third variable here that partially explains it (if a state's more likely to go for a particular party in an election, they're also probably more likely to generate more successful candidates from that party). That said, it's still not a good thing for Romney.
