Ok. I honestly dont believe that. Unless you just have a bad cashier. When you have a cashier (and especially if they have a bagger), youre getting multiple things done at once. Which is faster than one person doing everything. At least, when you have a lot of stuff, like a careful. If you only have a handful, then its probably not much different, unless you save a minute or something

If you have a cashier, while youre taking stuff out of the cart, they are scanning and bagging, or just scanner if they have a bagger bagging. Meaning that by the time youre done taking shit out, they may be close to finishing up scanning, and the bagging is probably close to done (or possibly done) by the time you get your receipt Thats just common sense. Instead of one person doing everything, you split the work, and it gets done faster

I just dont like it or support it, so I dont use it. I dont see it as a scam, though

I use to volunteer a lot when I was younger. And even more during my early years in the Air Force. I also remember getting a certain number of volunteer hours was needed to graduate school, and I need hours for the Air Force, as well Though, I still do like to volunteer when I can

I think it depends on what the rule is for. The way its worded makes sense if his interference actually interfered with another swimmer. That swimmer was already done, however (Most were by the time he finished). And finished second place, no less. So, the rule doesnt even make sense in this context since he didnt actually interfere with any other swimmers, which is what the rule it used for

Its a dumb rule. The teammate was finished, and finished second. He didnt really interfere with anyone They need to change the ruling But people are stubborn sometimes, so they may not want to change it

The Panera near me did the AI for ordering thing when they don't have enough staff. It actually works suprisingly well as long as you don't treat it like an actual human and more like a robot with voice recognition.

I have trouble with them due to my accent Like, its not really something most people would hear. But I have had some words sound weird or whatever due to it, I guess That and, depending on the restaurant, it can be hard to get what I want if I want something a little different than normal

The automated voice thing seems like it might suck

IF, and I do mean if she did tell the truth, and constantly told the truth for the past 2 years, and everyone else ignored her, then you are right and I take back all of the negative things I said about her.

However if she told this lie, and let the lie go on for 2 years, regardless who went to the police, I don't retract the things I said about this girl.

Like I said, I have no idea. She could have been lying for 2 years. But its also possible she told the truth, and no one believed her. Maybe they thought she was trying to protect him. I have no idea. I was wondering if there was any information on this, or if she said anything at all. But Im guessing not

It's moot if she personally talked to the police or not. She knowingly let the lie go on as if it's true for 2 years. So someone believing her serious accusation and going to the police, doesn't absolve the 16 year old who should very much know better, not speaking up that the accusation never actually happened. Embarrassing or not.

Also only bad people intentionally and knowingly let someone's life get ruined due to a serious lie they started in the first place. Regardless whoever forwarded the lie she started, to the police. She knowingly said nothing as people believed her serious accusation.

Apologist for this girl want to act like this is exclusive behaviour to teenagers or children who would just let a serious lie accusing someone of a crime ruin another person's life. That type of behavior is perpetuated in bad people of all ages and genders.

Its not necessarily a moot point depending on what she said if she talked to them We only assume she let the lie go on for 2 years. Its always possible she told the truth, but everyone just didnt believe her. That said, its also possible she did let the lie go on. The problem is we have no idea either way, it seems

I think you can. There have been certain cases, IIRC, where the victim isnt pressing charges, but the prosecutor will. And in those cases, I think they can build a case without talking to the the alleged victim. That said, these guys seemed pretty shitty at their job, so I wouldnt put it past them

I haven't looked deeply into this story so I won't comment on her interactions with the police. But "officer presence" is level 1 on the force continuum for a reason. Teenagers try to bullshit their parents. When uniformed cops are talking to them, it's a different story. It's scary to have cops interrogating you regardless of what you've read about beforehand ("don't say anything without a lawyer" etc.), and believe me, I know that from experience.

I havent looked much into it myself. I was just wondering if someone actually talked to her. And if they did, if she actually said something

ah man... that upsets me more, i hope my pets don't think i hate them. i don't i'm just suffering a lot. the cat that likes me...(the other one is close to my mom.) but yeah back to the cat, he seems happy to greet me, lay with me, get pet, on his terms of course lol. while me, i'm in pain from the depression and barely ever any joy anymore. it sucks to feel like that around such a lovely friend.

No. Your pets most likely know you love them. They can sense youre sad, though. And want to help. Cats can also help really well, as they can just make people happier and stuff

They like percentage because it means more money for no extra work. In terms of actual work the kitchen staff are doing more anyway, yet some of the people here think they don't deserve any portion of the tips. If tipping was based on having to interact with customers then plenty of other professions would deserve tips too.

I agree with this Thats the only reason its percentage based. And the people cooking have all the work on their shoulders with no tip (unless they are at a company that doesnt split tips). Though, that said, they usually get paid more. But again, they are doing a ton of work cooking multiple meals at a time, and cooking them well (hopefully) And there are plenty of other customer facing jobs that dont get tips

That said, I dont mind tipping for exceptional work (or even just being a good waiter) I just dont like its basically frowned upon to not tip (even when they were basically non-existent) And I wish they got paid a normal amount so people dont feel nearly forced to leave something extra

Id definitely disagree with this statement The people against tips seem to be the sensible ones on the topic. Many have even mentioned ways that would be better for everyone involved is stead of just insulting others

Depends on your job. Im at work right now. And Im on Gamefaqs, playing Switch, reading a book, and watching YouTube all at the same time. Its basically like being at home until I have more work. Why would I want to work here less and get less money, only to get another job where I wont get this kind of free time to make extra money?

Not to mention no overtime. And working overtime gives me great benefits Like extra days off and shit This works for many. But ot just all downsides for me

Quick question because I honestly don't know the answer: how has tipping in the USA changed with contactless card/phone payments? In the UK we only had a very small tipping culture to start with, but in the last 2 years, as people have stopped using cash, tipping has been virtually eliminated.

Not much. You either add the tip on the card when paying, or write it on the receipt afterward depending on the place

I doubt people working in a restaurant can remember thousands of customers and whether they tip or not, lol. Plus staff turnover at these places is immense. Also, I've never been in a restaurant where somebody didn't get served because nobody wanted to be their waiter, lol.

And like, if you're going to the same restaurant every night there's a problem...

You dont need to remember everyone. But servers will usually remember regulars, good tippers, bad tippers, and problem causers While I havent been a waiter, I have (and still sort of) worked customer service. You remember certain people very well And I never said they wouldnt get served. But they probably wont get the best service And no one said every night. Even once a week, people remember you

In the UK, after COVID, a lot of bars, cafes and restaurants were struggling to re-hire staff. There were literally adverts for staff up everywhere. Basically, bar staff were able to take their pick, so they went to the ones with better paym as a result, the places paying less found it harder to recruit. In the end, a lot of places went under. I guess it drove up both wages and quality.
