I said, there are plenty of successful healthy relationships that the first date was at a McDonald's or Taco Bell or fast food joint, or wherever other place you don't approve of.

You are also missing the point. We're not saying it's impossible to have a good relationship start from a date in a fast food restaurant. But some places are better than others.

For your first date, you want the experience to feel memorable and special which is why chain restaurants aren't a great idea. There are also other problems with the three mentioned in the topic title.

Starbucks tends to be crowded and noisy, and you often will have other people sitting very close to you which makes it harder to have a relaxed, intimate conversation.

Fast food places like Shake Shack are also crowded and noisy. On top of that they have limited menus so your date might not want anything they have.

Cheesecake factory isn't great because they give you such obscene amounts of food. Either you're super full or you have to walk around with a doggie bag for the rest of the date.

All these are perfectly fine to take your dates once you're in an established relationship, but for first dates, you want to create a comfortable and romantic atmosphere. So some places are better than others.

I don't understand why this concept is so hard for you.

Do I have a problem taking a first date to McDonald? YES. I have a problem taking them to specifically to McDonalds because of the setting, it is not romantic, it is not conducive of having a nice meaningful conversation, there are usually lots of kids and teenagers running around. And it is not a special or memorable setting.

However would I take a first date for a cup of coffee and/or ice cream and then go for a walk in the park. ABSOLUTELY! That sounds like an awesome First Date. And that would cost half as much as a McDonald's meal.

Asking somebody you don't know to walk through a park for a first date would make you look incredibly creepy.

My point is not everyone is like you. There are literally many successful and happy relationships and marriages that started at a fast food resteraunt or any other place you don't personally approve of.

You telling me you personally think a place isn't good enough irrelevant, amd so is you or anyone pointing at others who happen to agree with you. Again, you missed the point. Your high standards is thankfully not everyone's standards.

There are also lots of places that I personally would love to go on a first date but I wouldn't take someone else unless I knew they shared those interests.

First date should be drinks and maybe an appetizer at the most, no reason at all to take her to dinner on a first date in the current year where women often use men for free meals.

some of these modern women expect $200-300 dinners when she hasnt proven shes worth that much.

if a woman has genuine interest in you it doesnt matter where you go because she invested in your time, not finances.

I see you're doing that weird thing where you assume your preference is most people's preference because you associate with people like you and your standards.

Where you, others like you, or where you would personally take someone is irrelevant to that's not all or some extreme majority of people just because you have this high standard for a first date.

There are literally many many happy relationships and marriages that started at first date locations you don't approve of as a good first date location.

She did him a favor. Now she is free to date a man of her liking and neither has to waste their time.
