Gongaga could be annoying because of needing to use mushrooms to reach certain areas, but it felt a little easier to figure out how to get where I needed to go than it does here.

Trying to get to places in the Cosmo Region is annoying sometimes because of all the hills and valleys. The map is often unhelpful in finding stuff here!

This is worse than the Giants drafting Jones at 6 by a lot.

Let's not get carried away. Jones at 6 was absurd. Nobody else wanted him in the first round. Penix would've been drafted by somebody else in the first round if Atlanta didn't take him.

I'm fine with not playing a QB right away, but they only expected Mahomes to sit for one year, and he was 21.

Penix is sitting at least two years unless something goes very wrong, and he's an older QB, to boot. Like it worked out for Rodgers and Love to sit for three years, I guess, but they were also late first round picks.

Like if you wanted a guy who could sit and develop behind Cousins, draft McCarthy.

I actually really like Penix and think he could start Week 1 somewhere...which makes it all the more baffling that Atlanta took him to bury him behind Cousins.

Like why do you spend a top ten pick after signing Cousins to a big 4 year deal unless you don't think his health will hold up? In which case, why'd you sign him? Nothing about this makes any sense.

No matter how bad it gets for the Titans or Cowboys, I can always remind myself that at least I'm not a Falcons fan.

I pretty much agree with what others have said. Barnham is a really solid opponent, and it's kind of a shame you only face him twice. This is a case I've appreciated more on replay. Phoenix and Layton together works pretty well. Kira is a decent culprit, and the ending where she gets "executed" has pretty high shock value on a first playthrough.

Well, I think Washington is taking Daniels, so it'll be May (or please somehow let it be McCarthy) for the Patriots.

Bowers is one of those guys I could see dropping to the end of the first round because he's not a "need" for most teams. He'd just be really nice to have.

Just don't let the Chiefs get him.

My main concern about Daniels is that the dude took a lot of BIG hits in college. He seems to invite contact, and that won't work in the NFL.

I can't wait to see who mortgages their future to trade up to draft a QB that Jim Harbaugh didn't think was good enough to be the featured part of his offense

Honestly, a good argument for the N64 is that it probably has the highest concentration of good games of any major console with their entire libraries taken into account

It's nothing special, but it's serviceable. Flynch is a decent stand-in for Payne. Olivia is a pretty good starter villain. I appreciate that this is the only case in the series with no death in it anywhere (including the fictional deaths in L-2).

Yeah, I don't understand having the Wii instead of the Switch. The Switch has done everything the Wii did, only better. I think you can only put the Wii on here if you're just giving it credit for doing it first.

Phoenix is actually the one who sets both Apollo and Athena on their character arcs in DD with advice from Mia.

He tells Apollo to always believe in his client, and he tells Athena that a lawyer is someone who smiles no matter how bad it gets, and they carry those things with them through the game, so I wouldn't say Phoenix doesn't play much of a mentor role in DD, even if he isn't co-counsel in any of the cases.

I also think Sasha is kind of the weak link of the case, but the rest of the cast is good enough that it doesn't bother me much.

Gotta say, backstory of the Gi feels like a "nobody asked for this" moment in Rebirth, but we'll see how it goes!

5-6 is my 4th favorite case from this game, which says how stacked DD is and why it's my 2nd favorite game in the series.

Edgeworth doesn't work in the courtroom most of the time now that he's chief prosecutor, and DD does also imply that Phoenix has been helping him behind the scenes while he was disbarred too.

Makes me wonder if Layton/PW actually takes place after he was disbarred and Edgeworth just covers his tracks for him as a favor.

It's fun but also feels kinda hollow. Like, they're making statues of a guy who was a lawyer for three years then disbarred for eight. DD really wants us to pretend that AA4 was just a footnote in Phoenix's illustrious career.

The way PW1 paints the legal system, the fact that Phoenix lost one case in three years should make him a legend!

Like, I realize he didn't specifically return to law to defend an orca, but like, I'm just kinda surprised he came back to law without any particular reason? He got INTO the law profession for very specific reasons which he's already long paid off, but his return to the law profession is like, well, I guess it's my job now, time to defend an orca

The conversation with Edgeworth in the intro seems to suggest that the primary reason Phoenix came back was to help end the Dark Age of the Law by proving Blackquill's innocence.

I'm in a weird position where I think 5-6 is generally overrated but still really good! I love Shipshape Aquarium as a location. Blackquill pulling a Godot at the end of Day 1 was a great homage. I think Crab is a really good witness. Phoenix refusing to accept a guilty verdict for Rimes and continuing the trial just to find the real truth is the most "classic" Phoenix moment in either of the new games.

I do think it's got some weird pacing and structural issues near the end. Rimes has his big villain transformation, and then he...steps aside for a while so we can cross-examine the orca. That's always stood out to me as an odd decision because the transformation usually signals that they've become the sole focus of the trial now, but that wasn't the case with Rimes.

I feel like if aliens think Cars is the peak of our civilization, they'll leave us alone and deem us non-threatening due to low intelligence

There's a reason why DD has the only M rating in the series!

The only mistake the games make in terms of case division is separating the last two cases of GAA2. Those are blatantly the same case and provide an arbitrary distinction between the two. It also gives the player false hope that there's another case coming.

I'm fine with the rest.

I totally forgot to mention how outstanding the Ponco testimony is. It's so unique, and it's fun trying to figure out what it saw.

I think this case is the only time in the series where the twist actually ruined the case for me, as opposed to the twist being one of the coolest parts. It turns a cool new character into a total waste of time.

Huh, I think this is my first time encountering someone who was a fan of Fulbright pre-Phantom.

I think he's such a nothing character without that.

I'll be the 5-5 stan. It's got its problems, but I feel like it gives me the fanservice moments I wanted from an epic case. Phoenix vs. Edgeworth in the ruins of the courtroom is such a great setting. It has some emotional moments, too.

Apollo's role is fairly minimal, but I really love his testimony. Blackquill's cross-examination might be the best court moment in this game. He's a super tough opponent, and the moment he finally breaks with, "Curse you, Phoenix Wright!" is a satisfying moment. It feels like he and the Phantom justified the Mood Matrix's existence.

Speaking of the Phantom, I like him. I think they didn't use him as well as they could have, but the final evidence used to take him down is really good and it's a worthwhile showdown for me.

They dropped a surprise bonus Bluey episode!

I still need to watch season 3!
