Using evidence that a killer gave you to get a confession from the killer is an asshole thing to do? Killing his innocent dad would be. Also, I think you misinterpreted it. Not once did L write anything. The person writing was LIGHT in a flashback to how the put the whole Ferris wheel thing to occur. Obviously that's Light, I never said otherwise, or that we see anything get written. But when the movie cuts from L with the pen on the paper, to Light confessing his crimes in the hospital with Ryuk laughing at him, it implies that something did happen. Then when you consider that L now needs to clear his name by catching Kira and not just killing him, and the dad's 180 degree personality shift, I feel there's room for L to have trapped Kira. --- What did the pirate say on his 80th birthday? The way it was edited made it look like those events were happening at the same time, but it could've easily been flashing back to L preparing to control the dad and setting up the trap Light falls into in the final scene. He ~~already confessed to L when they first meet. Light asks L if he thinks L is better than him when both were referring to Kira.~~ ~~He didn't use that confession as evidence against Light, and after that his career and life were ruined. I watched and enjoyed the anime and thought the movie was a fun, if brainless, movie. The Final Destination-like sequences were a nice tough IMO. And L didn't forgive Light, what are you talking about? He doesn't kill light for watari's death because he realizes he had good intentions and that it was Mia who was behind everything. I'm almost positive it was ambiguous as to what L was going to do. Even had some people in the topic I made suggest that L ends up writing Light's father's name in there as "justice" for him killing L's father-figure. I don't see how. There weren't any references to Light's father during that scene. It just looked like he forced himself not to kill him. I mean, if he did do that he would become worse than Light. Light himself was pretty much just a misunderstood individual who was prodded by Ryuk and manipulated by Mia, literally on his way to become the pure "god" the original Light pretended he was. The final scenes keep switching from L with the missing page, presumedly writing something down, after calming himself and thinking it through, to scenes of Light's dad getting a confession from him at the hospital with Ryuk laughing at Light after he confesses to being Kira. Considering that L doesn't know the rules of the book, dislikes both Light and his father, and had just lost Watari and been threatened by the police. It's certainly readable that he simply wrote for the dad to get the confession to clear his own name, and possibly to avenge the loss of his own father figure. --- What did the pirate say on his 80th birthday? "Get me my book, or you die!" runs to get the book, and sees his name written in it tears out the page and burns it The end. Or... ~~He could have written Mia's name in it and controlled her to do whatever he needed, including removing his name from the book. He had till midnight, just write that she fixes it at 11:30 or something.~~ The ending sequence was just put into place to show that when pressured, Light can put together a long term plan that pays off later... If it had played the characters smarter, I would be assuming that ~~L wrote for Light's dad to question him at the hospital and get his confession.~~ The way the scenes were intermingled made it seem like they were happening at the same time, but it'd be interesting if it was just interspersed flashbacks of what lead up to the final scene. --- What did the pirate say on his 80th birthday? They could gather drives and animals that way, or have them be rewards for certain activities/quests. Heck, could even have the daycare/preschool thing offer lessons that boost stats. There was always a shop in the chao gardens, so if anything was a paid service it should be that and not the stat changing items. You could earn rings through the mini games and challenges, but also buy them directly. Same for the items, you can either save rings for them which might take a while, or buy them directly. Maybe have special items only available for real cash, like a fruit that doubles stat gains for a certain amount of time, or an item that makes them mature/reincarnate quicker. --- What did the pirate say on his 80th birthday? It mentioned him specifically by name in the death note itself.~~ Also, after all the time Light spent controlling people, he thought he could ~~talk Mia out of the thing he was controlling her to do. Also, Ryuk says at one point that no one has ~~written more than 2 letters of his name, but there was a warning in the book someone had written saying not to trust Ryuk.~~ It also was strange that was the only time that thought was entertained. Oh well. Light was really dumb too. Only the summoner and guardians are allowed in the Trial. goes in anyway Stay away from the Summoner! immediately breaks all rules and customs just to get to the Summoner He forgets literally everything he's told within seconds of hearing it, willingly goes against what everyone is telling him, is completely ignorant of the world around him and unwilling to change until it becomes personal to him. The on,y real character trait he has is being a loud mouthed braggart, until you're almost to Zanarkand and he finally figures out what's going on, despite it being made very obvious. If Daredevil had just been straight with them once he decided to join, and Danny wasn't a moron, it could've been streamlined into like 3-4 episodes. --- What did the pirate say on his 80th birthday?
