My most common way of using him is Ode to Victory in slot 1, his HA in slot 2, use his first three instant actions while the rest of the team is building up and then use his awakening on his 4th turn. If it's an RW chain lots of times I'll use it on his 3rd instant turn, if it's RW wall then I usually use it on his second (HA is usually first). Use sync/glint when needed to counter those debuffs. Reuse awakening when the first one runs out (it's definitely worth honing).

The one big exception I found is for labyrinth fights where they don't have a final phase full break. For those I've been using the sync when the first awakening wears off, and saving the second awakening for the final phase.

5 Bahamut was absolutely terrible, I gave up on trying to beat him even though I had tons of cap breaks for Bartz and a pretty strong Lenna and Exdeath.

This one is rough without Aria's proshellga glint. I have to use Cait's USB for proshellga which prevents me from using his awakening early and I keep having characters die in the first 4-5 turns (different characters since I'm trying different things but so far nothing that works)

@SSJSephirothGokuX123 I have almost exactly the same III team as you except no LBO and Cait Sith instead of Mog, and OK's realm chain instead of Arc's (so no way to counter full break). Also I don't have Aria's g+ which is inconvenient.

You want to do all if you can. There are two main rewards:

- Lord's Gauntlet, an elemental armor that either boosts attack or magic depending which version you beat
- Odin Magicite, which has two versions (magic and physical) and 8 different elemental seals. You can inherit the seals on either version, so if you can only beat one magic Odin you can inherit passives from beating all the other physical versions (but you won't get the gauntlet)

And of course there are motes and lenses for rewards too. Oh and an artifact weapon dagger, but it's weaker than the artifact weapons we can select. Still can be useful occasionally.

Painting mechanic is pretty simple... Any SB from you or any action from the boss takes the top one. You want to get the blue ones and avoid the red, white is mixed (it has both good and bad effects). I usually end up getting the white one too just to clear them faster so I can use SBs freely again. The actual effect is different for each boss.

Got my FF1 dreambreaker clear. It was easier than expected, got a 28.91 so I don't have to revisit that one. That's 17/18 DBs, just Shadowsmith is left. 7/18 sub-30.

You basically need to have some kind of party esuna effect for Diabolos, if you do he's not that bad. Tyro's glint is a good one for this fight. I think you basically just need to use it twice at the right times to end fever dream and the rest of the time just keep attacking. Also I think you want your DPS in the bottom 3 slots so they don't get immediately fever dreamed in phase 1 but I could be misremembering.

I made the rest of my dream picks so I can stop thinking about it and not worry about accidentally forgetting. I took Thief AASB because it helps my worst realm and my worst element, and it's a +bio armor which actually matters (it's the first one I have). For my syncs I took Vincent's and Garnet's, since I will definitely be using them as chainers in upcoming labyrinth fights.

You might think that, but actually the main issue is that her damage is terrible, lol. Like I heard people say it was bad and I was still unprepared for how weak she really was. It's disappointing, they should have buffed her to make those SBs actually useable but it looks like they just moved her back to healing instead (she'll get a new healing sync in the New Years fest)

I did this without getting a new relic for Zack so I don't need to consider him for my dream selection anymore. I had a moment of panic when Omnislash left the Sandworm at 0.2% less than one turn before Labyrinth Maze End, but Zidane got his turn in time and was able to finish him with a final use of his sync ability.

I realized I was using Rydia's begin with enwater LM even though I was using her earth SBs. I fixed that and managed to beat Bahamut... then after I beat him I realized she STILL had a +water armor equipped, lol. Anyway, one more Bahamut down. (8 down, 10 to go)

Also tried to sub 30 Kalavinka, got 30.87 on my first try but then I messed up on my second try and somehow got Rydia paralyzed in phase 4. It's definitely doable, not sure how much effort I'm going to put in right now though.

Well, I'm definitely planning to draw on Winter Fest b1 which has her awakening dyad, arcane dyad, and new awakening (healing focused). So I don't know if I want to use both picks on her now.

Man I hate Bahamut. Haven't managed to beat IV yet, his damage reduction in phase 3 is insane. Golbez is the only one on the team who has a good way to break 20k (his sync command 2, I think I need to use Rydia's AOSB early just so I can remove the 5 layers of king's rage in time.

Which do you think is better between Garnet's awakening and her sync? I might grab the awakening later since I don't need it for a while... ironically there's more competition for the awakening pick now.

Bit late on the Rydia earth sync since I've beaten Kalavinka Striker, but it makes my FF IV magic team a lot better. Golbez awakening was the one pick I already was 100% decided on and now I'll have 2 cap breaks each for Golbez, Rydia, and Edge. That should make Bahamut doable and help a lot for next season's labyrinth.

Haven't decided on my other picks yet... leaning toward Garnet's sync since I have her chain and no cap breaks. Lightning lab is a ways away but it seems guaranteed to stay relevant. Shantotto's sync's a possibility because of ATB and my XI team isn't that good, although for lightning DPS I think I'm already pretty good. Second awakening is probably between Zack, Lenna, and Thief. Any others I should consider?

I still have gems left from the last dream select so I'm going to do at least one pull this time.

Grabbing Zack's awakening would be the most immediate help since I think it would probably let me beat Sandworm. My biggest concern there is his chain is weaker than most. I could pick up Luneth's or Faris's in a couple months but I have no cap breaks for them so I'd have to accumulate those too, whereas at least I already have Zack's chain and his sync right now.

Ultimecia's sync or Alisae's awakening (already have her sync) would help with the magic version but I think I wouldn't quite be able to beat it even with those. Eiko's sync could be an option too (I have both awakenings).

I could also go for Golbez's awakening (I have his sync) since the IV labyrinth is coming up. Or Lenna's awakening 1 to just improve all my elemental teams since she's my #1 healer now... not sure how much I need it but it couldn't hurt.

Dream selects coming up right before fest, hmm. There are definitely some relics that would help me but I'm not sure if I want to spend money on them. I think the only new ATB syncs are for Valvalis and Shantotto. Shantotto's seems like the worst kind of ATB sync since you can't control it, while I have nothing else for Valvalis and no real interest in using her. The awakenings would probably benefit me more like Lenna's and Zack's.

Also if the boss is using moves that do multiple hits to certain slots, make sure your chainer isn't in that slot.

Yeah, the rechaining thing is annoying. One thing I've done for anyone using DMT or a 500 SB glint is give them a 5* ability instead of 6* so they build gauge slower.

There haven't been any banners I was that enthusiastic about since last fest, but there are a bunch coming up now. I like fest banners 1 & 3 a lot, but there's the bio banner at the same time, and I need to draw there if I want to be able to do Bio Odin any time soon. 3 weeks after that is the XII banner focused on Balthier with stuff for Vaan, Larsa, and Basch. That would be one of the best ways to improve my physical fire team and also help one of my weakest realms. Then there's the VII banner with Cloud's new hybrid sync and awakening, and sync/awakening for Vincent, which is the best help for my fire magic team. There are a couple others (I really need wind magic help and there's a FBC event) but I don't know how I'm going to allocate my mythril for all that when I definitely want 10 pulls for winter fest!

I think Shadowsmith is supposed to be the toughest dreambreaker. When I tried him he had crazy damage, he's one of two I haven't beaten yet (the other is FF1).

Ovelia used to be my go to healer for a while! Back when her USB1 was enough to make her good.

Anyway, I got the clear, took me 44.61. I had to use OSBs to end King's Rage, which really slowed down Agrias and Orlandu's damage (Agrias didn't even get to user her awakening until around 38 seconds). I think there must be a better way to do this with what I have, but this is good enough for now. I'll wait until Ovelia's G+ is added to the lens shop and then I'll try a full party team.

Seems like I once again underestimated the difficulty of endgame content. The no healer option isn't really possible because of dispel, and my realm healers don't have enough to do the job. (Their proshellga glints aren't in the shop yet and they're kinda necessary because of that dispel). With Lenna I got him down to 2.5% but got dead ended. My damage completely collapsed in late phase 3 so I think I need to refresh Orran's BSB, since I can't think of any other reason for it, although I'm surprised how much difference it made. Also I think I'm going to try to work in Delita's party crit fix unique, that should help.

Hmm, yeah, I have 7+ depending on how you count and what team I use. But the biggest weakness is Zack having only 1, and a weaker chain.

Cloud: dyad, sync, awakening, and USB1
Zidane: dyad, sync, awakening

(Bartz was my alternate: dyad, sync, 3 different awakenings but I never used more than 2 of them)

BiOdin was confirmed for 10/2 in the MVP letter. It does seem like I'm going to have to forget about doing 10 pulls in the fest because they just don't give enough mythril to do that and other pulls. Excited to see bio finally get its day!

Alright, I took down both versions too, yay. Although there were stages of the fight when characters weren't breaking level 3 rage because of my crappy gen 1 chain, we broke through and got there in the end. Vivi was a beast, it seemed like he was doing better damage than either Rinoa or Serah. But once I get Serah's chain she'll be pulling her weight.

This fight is much more annoying than I expected. I forgot Odin's gimmicks... and I can't use Lenna because I don't have her first awakening and I need a raise for the doom.

For me Leviathan is the easiest 6* magicite. It's just a race, if you have enough DPS you can ignore the gimmick, unlike Ifrit, Valefor, Titan, Alexander, or Diabolos.

The dreambreaker missions are fun. I used my overdrive on VII and it was easy, after struggling and not being able to clear it at all before. Even when I finally did beat it I had Orran (or at least he was in my saved team) but it took my 41 seconds, with overdrive I cut it to 26.91. Then I did XIV and that one was even more surprising because I was using exactly the same team but I cut my time from 36.x to 24.29, my fastest dreambreaker yet. I think most of the difference is from just using Papa's sync second and being able to rattle off a bunch of 29k hits really fast. I think for my third one I'll try to get Nimbus under 30, my first try was 30.74 and now I have more HAs.

I'm definitely looking forward to Tactics Bahamut, my team is stacked. I think I'm going to try Orran solo healing at first because I have Sync+Awakening for all 5 characters with Orlandu, Agrias, Delita, Ramza, and Orran. Plus Ramza can chain so I can bring Fabula heal. And Orlandu's OSB is great for Dragonking rage (although I don't know how many layers he has).

Finally finished IX Bahamut. My ticket just got me a dupe Laguna G+ and dupe Seifer LMR. :(

The current banner actually seems pretty good. I need to decide if I want to save to do 10 in fest though. This fest isn't that great for me (part of the problem is I have almost everything on b5 which otherwise would be quite good). But there is some good stuff there and the free selections are a BIG bonus.

I had the same problem with IX Bahamut, had to restart early a couple times while I remembered what to do, and then I just lost by failing to break King's Rage soon enough.

Campaign confirmed for tonight I guess. Which dreambreaker are you going to use your free overdrive on? There are still two I haven't beaten (I and Core) but I'm afraid I still wouldn't beat them with overdrive and lose my 5 mythril. I think I'm going to go for VII because Cloud and Seph are super greedy for SB meter and my clear was embarrassingly slow (over 40 seconds).

Nice, I beat T0 Bahamut too and my team was not what I would call good, aside from Rem. 36.78. I did invest in HAs for Ace and Queen, since I have plenty of sapphires and crystals.

Hmm, I have Rem Sync/AASB and Ace Sync but nothing else for magic. I guess I need to try a mixed team, or just put it off.

I've been trying to do magic Abductor, but it seems like staying alive is tougher as well as my chain being weaker. Cait Sith doesn't heal as much as Orran does (and lower HP might be a factor too).

I don't think there was much doublecast luck, since I did almost the same thing 3 times in a row. First time I got him to 5.8% but Fran didn't get her limit off. Second time was exactly the same but she got her limit off because I had Orran give her IC1 on the last turn. Third time was slightly different, I got to phase 4 about a second earlier which probably was due to doublecasting. Probably it's just because Delita is powerful. The self crit on his awakening is super useful in phase 1, and the chases from USB and Sync do a lot in phase 3/4.

Alright, was able to replicate my clear. I messed up my timing a bit and got maze gated before using Fran's limit... I thought it was over, but before I restarted, Odin came along and took off the last 1.1% for me while my whole team was paralyzed!

Delita's definitely strong, he seems to do more damage than Squall did the one time I tried him. Also I brought Fabula Priestess but I'm not sure if it made a difference. I don't THINK I used it a second time but I can't remember for sure.

Orran's 4th turn should come right when the first slow hits. I have him wait though and use abilities for Fran and Delita, Lenna USB4, and then Celes chain (if she's in slot 5 she has enough to use it now). Then I used Orran's AASB and instant cast Fran's sync and Delita's awakening and have them keep using sync ability and HA. Celes used an ability, then Magicite (maybe it should have been the other order), then en-ice+IC1 glint, then doublecast USB and doublecast her HA for a while. Lenna instant casts Curada off of Orran's awakening, then uses Brave ability, then RW heal, then USB4 again (you're taking lots of damage here if you don't have wall), ability, brave ability. Orran has to use an ability after his awakening, then can use his BSB off of the second fast turn from Lenna's first USB usage. Then just use abilities until you reach phase 2.

Phase 2, Orran counters the def/res/mnd buff with his G+ as the first action, Fran and Delita are still attacking, Celes needs to refresh the chain as soon as the red painting disappears (hold her instant action from the first painting to do it). I think I collected the white painting with Orran's sync. At this point Fran goes imperil USB, awakening 1, awakening 2, and then just attack with abilities while Delita goes critfix USB, Sync, sync ability, and Celes uses her awakening and then attacks with her HA. This carries me through the end of phase 2 and phase 3 before Labyrinth Twister and Dehaste.

Phase 4, Celes needs to refresh her chain as soon as she can, Orran waits and uses awakening to counter slow, and when he can refreshes his Burst for the attack buff. Delita used sync ability 2 during the dead zone to boost his damage. As soon as the 5 seconds ends go to town and try to kill him, while Lenna and Orran try to keep the team alive. I used my second Odin summon here somewhere but I don't remember exactly where it was (might have been p3 actually). At the very end Celes's awakened mode ended so I used her AOSB, and I used Orran's BSB ability to give Fran IC1 so she could finish the fight with her limit break.

Welp... once again the game locked up my whole phone after the kill and before it communicated with the server. It seems like taking a screenshot might increase the odds of that happening so no more screenshots from now on. At least now I know I can do it so hopefully it won't be too much of a pain to replicate this.
