I grabbed Exdeath's sync and crushed Odin. Rem is still ridiculous. For some reason I thought there were two Achromatic Aegises so I didn't counter the first one and then I realized there was no second one, oh well. On the other hand, doing it the way I did gave me plenty of time to build up Rem's SB bar so she could use her USB at the beginning of the fight and then Sync/Awakening back to back after Achromatic Aegis.

The magic version of the fight is annoying me. Hope's chain and Cait's awakening give the same buff so one of them is wasted. I was trying to get past the first Achromatic Aegis before using Rem's Sync/Awakening but I'm not able to manage his rage enough to survive the first Argent Zantetsuken. Maybe I should just get Exdeath's sync but it seems like I shouldn't need it.

Okay, got the physical one, it felt like it was harder than I expected considering how good my gear was. The team I used was Lightning, Ramza, Elarra, Agrias, and Orlandu. I dropped Orran once I realized Lightning could give fastcast to all my physical attackers, and added Agrias because I really needed the imperiling. Lightning's damage was surprisingly not that great... but it was a lot better than Orran's, so... I don't know how you're supposed to beat this if you don't have a ridiculously stacked team, but I'm probably just bad.

Hopefully my much weaker magic team will be able to do it now that I have the Lord's Seal: Dark on my magicite.

How does this guy's damage reduction seem so high? Lightning can't break cap with her HA even at max chain against savage level 3!

In order of my confidence level:

Holy physical - I think I could probably make two completely different teams capable of beating this one, crystal tower style. I'm planning to use Ramza (Chain, Sync, Awakening), Orlandu (Sync, Awakening), and Lightning (Holy Sync, both awakenings, Holy AOSB). But I also have Ceodore (Chain, Awakening), Beatrix (Sync, Awakening) and Agrias (Sync, Awakening)

Ice physical - Squall (sync and awakening), Ayame (sync and awakening), and Laguna (chain and awakening) should be able to get it done.

Dark physical - I have all of Sephiroth's dark stuff. Choice between Shadow or Seifer for my chain. Not really sure who my other DPS is, probably just Cloud using his wind Sync with his HA, USB1, and darkness glint.

Holy magic - Rem should get this done. I only have a chain for Hope so he doesn't contribute much. I have a couple options with an awakening for my 3rd but no one with two cap breaks besides Rem.

Dark magic - I don't have any dark mages with more than one cap break. Golbez is my chainer and has a sync. Then it's two other characters with just an awakening, I'm not sure which ones yet.

Ice Magic - My main problem is no gen 2 chain. So I'll be trying Laguna, with a stacked Rinoa and Serah with her ATB sync.

Okay, for labyrinth there have been 5 groups but only 4 bosses so far is that right? Earth weak, wind weak, ice weak, and IV. It sounds like there's going to be a ton of grinding to do, ugh.

Yeah, I mean I'm sure she's still usable, but Maria is better.

I did run the numbers. Maria's sphere skills are 9% earth and 9% black magic boost, Rydia's are 18% summon and 6% black magic.

Rydia: 2x cmd1 + chain stoneja = (2 * 18.3 * 1.18 * 1.05) + (15.25 * 1.06) = 59.353 (17 hits)
Maria: 2x HA = 2 * 21.0 * 1.09 * 1.09 * 1.3 = 64.87 (12 hits)

The awakened mode rank bonus ends up making a pretty big difference. Rydia's cmd 1 does give her self fastcast but since I'm using Cait Sith with Allegro I don't think that makes enough difference. They're pretty close. Maria also has an ability double USB which is nice for getting through phase 1s.

I do know about it, but a while ago I saw some analysis showing that type of combo can be worse than just spamming a good HA. Here's the math for Zidane's version of the combo:

I'm not sure how the numbers would compare for Rydia vs Maria but it's not as big of an advantage as I thought. And it requires you to use the sync and awakening at the same time instead of one before the wall and one after.

I took a look at that labyrinth fight. 7 million HP sounds pretty nuts. That does make Maria's sync a lot more tempting. There's also Rydia's, who I like more and would help me with IV dragon king... but she's just not as good of an earth mage as Maria. Sucks that she got so shafted on her HA.

Yeah, it's a possibility. There's no new earth elemental content yet in Japan right? I'm leaning more toward Tidus or Ultimecia for that pick I think. Or maybe Exdeath, I have his awakening and if he's viable for dark and holy that would be pretty nice.

Okay... for II I just have Maria's Awakening, no sync, and Emperor awakening 1 and 2 but no sync.

IV might be more doable since I do have Edge's sync and awakening. No one else in that realm has more than 1 cap break.

I got Gordon's awakening with a 100 gem pull. I usually don't even do them anymore but I had google play credit. But I'm not sure if I can afford to remove Orran and I definitely don't want to lose a DPS character.

What makes his HA surprisingly good? It's just fast entrust, right?

Not sure what I should take on these selects if anything. For sync, Tidus would help with dragon King, Ultimecia would help with wind Odin, but that's just one fight each and I don't think either it's that powerful of a sync.

They need to drop more Odins so I can see where I need help.

@Lopen if you don't do Squall then I'd probably get Maria's. She has a great HA, you can use her on two teams, and getting the first Odin down will make the others easier.

Here are my best percentages so far:

X 48%

Aside from VII the only one I've put much time into is X. Agree that phase 2 is nasty. The thing I hate most about the fight is Memory Bite, and especially the fact that it can cancel your SBs while you're casting them, sometimes even when the bar is completely full. Adding that on top of a mechanic that forces you to use your soul breaks at that time is just evil.

I beat Kam'lanaut. Finally used my fest coins to grab Curilla's awakening and then unlocked record boards and stuff. Ironically Curilla's awakening barely helped at all... right after I used it she got hit with the blind status and my other characters ended the fight before she had a chance to remove it. But no regrets, none of the options were that great for me which is why I took so long to pick. 13 dreambreakers down, 4 to go.

I liked the idea of using Eiko for Odin so I tried it. I'm lacking her proshellga glint though so Cait needs to use his old USB to give it. And for some reason my party was having trouble breaking cap even though I had Cait and a gen 2 chain.

Yeah, this is great news. Tough that we still have to wait 6 months, but something to look forward to. I think they also confirmed there will be chains but I'm not sure if they said which ones. Someone on reddit said gen 2 elemental and gem 1 realm chains.

I was actually thinking I might spend on the OLD chain select for Serah's chain since I still don't have a gen 2 ice chain. But with this news I'll wait (or see if I can just beat that Odin with Laguna's chain).

Finally got my first Dragonking win! VII of course, I finished him with a massive Omnislash after having to use Orran's BSB at the very end to re-buff the team when my first ones expired. (I was starting with a Zack chain for the 50% attack and crit damage boost, but can't really recast it because it will cancel the realm chain).

Elemental radiant shield is definitely better for element content than realm, but even so Earth Rave will remove two historia souls and give party IC1 which seems pretty useful. And the radiant shield still does some damage. But yeah, Cait Sith's awakening is definitely worth honing if you can afford it. He and Orran are my only fully honed awakenings.

I tried FFVII with my mage team that sub30 Ultima Weapon but those 5 seconds of damage reduction really f*** over RedXIII because he doesn't have a backup USB that helps his offense, and Vincent only has Awakening.

They both have pretty good USBs in the lens shop. I've been refreshing my chain right at the beginning of phase 2 and then using USBs to build the new chain and remove historia souls during the 5 second damage reduction stage.

I decided to start saving my tickets for the next refresh which should be in June.

I tried out the 7 Dragonking fight and got him into phase 3, below 30%. It seems like it should be doable. There are a lot of gimmicks but Cloud and Sephiroth are ideal for dealing with the King's Rage gimmick. I expect that'll be a lot more annoying in some realms where you probably just have to use OSBs.

All three of those syncs are amazing so I'd basically go for the area you need more help in. If one will help you in two different fights (Dreambreaker and Odin) that's a plus. If you're still not sure, I'd probably rank them

1. Rem
2. Lightning
3. Orlandu

Orlandu's at the bottom just because there are tons of holy knights in the game so it's not that hard to fill up that team. But it's still an amazing sync.

I took Cloud's sync from the stamp selection and beat Odin. Selections left to do are G+ and the coin awakening. There's no need for def/res/mnd breaker glints against Bahamut right? It's just an Odin thing? I seem to do alright ignoring Achromatic Aegis for physical (and I already have Cait's counter) so not sure if it's worth using my pick on that for Orran.

Hell yeah, beat Azulmagia! I did use my USB selection on Lenna's USB4 and also leveled my HC to 120 because I realized I had plenty of tails, and on one run Tyro got frozen for a while at the beginning of phase 3 even though I had refreshed grace, so I figured the extra mind would help.

Bartz's earth awakening is a powerhouse, especially in realm because you get better effects with more FF5 characters. And when he has the realm artifact sword and dragonlord's armlet (and HA) he can switch damage types seemlessly. So now I'm free to take Cloud's sync, although I may try Odin and Bahamut before I make my pick.

My last draw ticket got me Onion USB3 which I was thinking about getting with lenses a few days ago so I'm glad I waited. Now that the tickets are done I grabbed Ayame's awakening/AOSB/LMR gift set and spent some time trying Dreambreaker Kam'lanaut. I got it down to 18% but with only 2 DPS characters I couldn't get it done (I have Ayame's sync and awakening, Shantotto is just with awakening and USB, and Lilisette is contributing a little damage but not much). I'm thinking maybe I should grab Curilla's awakening with coins but I'm not sure how much that would help since I'd have to remove Lilisette or Orran.

Also I still need to decide on Bartz vs Cloud sync. And are there any good G+ selections I should consider or should I just grab Orran's? (I have his sync and honed awakening, and I already have Cait Sith's G+)

There are supposed to be 6 copies of Dr. Mog's AOSB in the exchange, right? I traded for 3 and then it disappeared from the exchange so I couldn't pick up the rest and hone the AOSB the rest of the way.

I decided to spend my last pull of fest on b3... 1/11 Zack sync! That was one I was pulling for so that's nice.

Now I just need to figure out all my selection picks.

Gift set: Fighter, Locke, Tifa, and Ayame are the ones where the awakening isn't a dupe. Pretty sure this is Ayame because I have her sync and she'll help for both DB and Odin teams.

Coin awakening: Lots of options, lots of dupes. I think I'm going with Balthier since he's my best fire chainer and it might also help with DB.

Coin USB: These are all junk, Rosa 1 and Penelo 2 are the only non-dupes.

Stamp USB: I think it comes down to Aria 2 vs Lenna 4 unless I'm overlooking something great. It's kinda crazy to consider Lenna when I already have her sync, 2nd awakening, and all 3 USBs, but it would still be an upgrade. For Aria I only have her USB1 so that probably makes more sense.

Stamp G+: No idea really... maybe Orran?

Stamp Sync: It's either Cloud or Bartz as the only non-dupes. I like Cloud more, but Bartz would help with the V Dreambreaker.

So now that I actually have some dyads, what's the best way to use them? Do you overlap them with your Sync or Awakening to maximize the damage on the finisher? Or do you use it separately to have more time under cap break? Since Cloud's USB1 is still a better cap break, do you just use it to get started quicker, or are you still trying to maximize the finisher?

Finally a good item there too. Quantity is low but at least the quality was high. I have one pull left this fest, I'm not sure where it should go. B2 the main items that would still help me are Emperor's Sync, Strago Sync/Awakening, and Ysayle Sync. The biggest draw is really Emperor, although Ysayle and Strago are both good since I have other stuff for them. B3 Ashe would help with DB and Odin, Hope would be my holy magic chainer, and Zack would help for both Odin and DB. On B4 I mostly just need the Arc and Luneth stuff for the DB... I like Beatrix and already have her Sync/AASB and I've already beaten that DB.

I haven't beaten any new Dreambreakers or Odins with my crappy banner 2 pulls, but I did beat Gilgamesh I, II, and IV, which is all the ones I hadn't done. I have 5 more fest pulls left, which if I get anything good on banner 3 I may spend what's left on banner 2.

Sigh. Sometimes this game is so frustrating. Zero syncs, and the Ysayle stuff is useless if I don't have her sync or awakening. Got my first TA and I do have his magic awakening, so maybe that makes OK worth using.

Sadly Yuna's Elarra clone USB isn't available with coins, basically none of the good ones are. Although her poor man's Elarra knock off without regenga is there. I'm pretty disappointed with the coin options for USBs.

Impressive, I still haven't beaten him. I was dealing with berserk just by casting Ultra Cure. Dreambreaker stop you need to boost Tyro's mind, but for Orran I didn't think it was a problem as long as you have the realm mind artifact.

I did the half price draw, 1/11 Fujin Glint+. Great glint (500 SB type) but it would be a lot more useful if I had gotten other SBs of hers to use.

I'm pretty tempted by the half price Wind banner, mostly because of Fujin. I had her first awakening and I have no dupes here and I still need to beat wind magic weak Argent Odin. The down side is the Angeal stuff, I can't see any way he makes my team for one of the most stacked elements in the game. But half price for a character I could really use is tempting.

I think that's my only pull on the first banner since I don't need fire that much, I've already done both versions of Argent Odin with fire.
