For an intense boss-type theme, this feels sort of weirdly lacking in energy? I really like when the synthy strings come in at 0:45, thats a nice moment. This feelsnot like Shimomuras usual style, though I struggle to pinpoint why that is. Could it be the instruments?Well part of it is because this isn't a boss theme, merely the regular battle theme for Deep Space. Kingdom Hearts tends to change its style in sci-fi themed areas, you can see this a lot with the themes for the various Tron worlds. Most people couldn't have named more than 5 superheroes before the MCU. Outside of Supes/Batman/Spiderman, nothing is (relatively) guaranteed.here's a fun question: what about superheroes who don't originate from Marvel or DC. I'm thinking, ignoring whether or not various Power Rangers or Kamen Riders or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or whatever count or not, the Incredibles all probably rank pretty highly --- :) |

This is a game where the premise is that Mario needs to travel all around the world, so they should've leaned into the different countries element. We have a Mexico-inspired kingdom, a NYC-inspired one, and a Japan-inspired one. Just throw caution to the wind and dump the Lake Kingdom and Snow Kingdom and whatever, and make every level a real world country stand-in.They DID do that though. Lake Kingdom is Greece, Snow Kingdom is Russia, Wooded is Germany, Seaside is France, Cap is England, and Luncheon is Italy. It's just the smaller levels that aren't based on anywhere. --- :) |
