Oh, it's just 'cuz I was reminded of it recently and thought about it...

I don't expect it to have years and years of appeal, I just thought it was weird that it just instantly disappeared

Lotsa video game gems tend to do that. It's kinda sad. Usually indie games, because all their budget goes into MAKING the game....and not advertising it.

Some of the best games I've ever played in my life....I would rarely see much coverage of. This includes the days/weeks/months immediately after the game launches. I can only ever find people talking about them if I really do some digging on YouTube, and it's usually tossed in with some kind of "indie game montage."

Hyper Light Drifter
Aegis Defenders
Iconoclasts
Owlboy
Children of Morta
Crossing Souls
Vane
Hard Corps Uprising

(just to name a few).

All amazing games.....and I wouldn't have known they even existed unless I paid very close attention to E3 coverage in the past and wrote these names down before they vanished into the void. And after they released you still barely heard anyone talk about them.

I mean...didn't it come out years ago? It was a great game and I played the hell out of it....but why would people still be talking about it now?

If they would work on a sequel....that might ignite people's interest in the first game more. That's usually how it goes.

Kinda like Hollow Knight. That was one of the best Metroidvanias I've ever played....and they ARE working on a sequel............but you still don't hear many people talk about it.

That's just how gamers are. And marketing departments only focus on the latest games. And politics.

Buying groceries.

It's just annoying. Having to deal with all these people. Idiots standing around in lines. Parking their carts to socialize with people they recognize from church or work. Taking up space. You can't walk around them. You feel rude telling them to move. Not wanting to bump into someone you know. Having them do that creepy little glance into your cart to judge everything you are buying. People asking you for money in the parking lot. Running the risk of some monster shooting up the place or some aggravated assault you become a part of, or awkwardly have to witness. Increased chances of getting into a car accident there or back.

It's just annoying.

Interesting timing.

After seeing the reveal for Darksiders Genesis, I decided to replay the entire series. Just started Darksiders 2 last night. I love the game!!! The big map, areas, all the little secrets....extremely satisfying.

And I LOVED Darksiders 3. It felt like Metroid Prime has a baby with The Legend of Zelda. The only thing mildly annoying was how you couldn't rush through the areas too fast, because it would have to buffer the maps. You know?

But when you took your time, explored every nook and cranny, the game ran fine. And Fury is super fun to play as. Everything had really solid design behind it. Especially the bosses and weapons.

I also never got around to playing all the DLC for Darksiders 3, so I'm really looking forward to it.

People don't change. Their situations change.....and that sometimes forces certain aspects of their personality to go into hibernation. Or awaken.

Take sluts, for example. (holds back a laugh)

When you have a man or a woman who absolutely struggles with monogamy, and just wants to bang anything that moves.....constantly wanting more, never satisfied, gets bored easily...........these people eventually have to grow up. Once they reach their 40's or 50's....or get into a car accident and are physically disfigured....their sluttiness will probably diminish.

Did this person "change"?

No.

Some people might think they grew up and finally realized the value of commitment and giving all their attention to one good partner at a time.....

....but the slut is still there. It's who they are as a person.

The only reason they aren't a slut anymore is because they realize they are older now and have less value on the dating market, so they can't afford to BE a slut anymore (although they still might be tempted to try from time to time).

But if they were to suddenly get an expensive make-over, start working out a lot, get some kind of stomach bug and lose a ton of weight.....or discover a strange object in a cave that summons some strange tentacled entity that can give them eternal youth and attractiveness..................the slut will come back. Because it is who they are.

Ugh.

I don't fly very often, so this was definitely a first. And not until I did some Google research....did I realize how common this shit was.

The worst part was that I purchased all these art books, graphic novels, and animation tidbits......and they were all sealed in plastic in my luggage. I didn't even plan on opening them until I got home.

Well, TSA kindly broke my luggage lock and unwrapped every single book. Just left all the plastic in one big ball on top of all my clothes with the books just sitting there.

What the fuck was the point of that? Why did they NEED to look through my books? They could see the cover of the books through the plastic. Did they search it to make sure I wasn't hiding drugs in the pages or some shit? Wouldn't the x-ray machine have revealed that to them?

If they were interested in the CONTENT of the books, what were they expecting to find? Manuals on how to make portable nuclear bombs? Pedophilia stuff? I don't get it.

I'm very upset and feel very violated. They left a pamphlet thing in my luggage saying it 'might' have been searched.

Um. It was DEFINITELY searched. They unwrapped all my damn books and broke my luggage lock.

And I can't even contact them to demand a replacement lock for the one they broke.

Apparently they are "entitled" to break luggage locks to search the contents for any reason, including no reason.

How is this even a thing?

It seems illegal.

You know it's coming.

Ohhhhh yes.

It's gunna be crazy.

Every year gets more obnoxious....and 2019 (in particular) seems to have reached its peak.

We are currently living in the most professionally offended outrage culture ever.

With all the transphobia, Islamophobia, Nazis, misogynists, cultural appropriating incel MAGA monsters........2019 Halloween is gunna be a doozy. People are gunna be triggered into oblivion.

Do you have any thoughts of what they might be specifically?

I'm already anticipating:

1.) Transgender-themed costumes that mock the identity.
2.) "MAGA hat teens" with a "Native American Vietnam vet" drumming in the group.
3.) AOC costumes worn by white girls who "darken their complexion" which sends CNN into meltdown mode.
4.) White children dressing up as anything traditionally non-white.
5.) Maybe some kind of clever "Jeffrey Epstein" costume where he's got a noose around his neck and a knife in his back.
6.) Jussie Smollett costumes. Just dudes wearing blackface holding a subway sandwich with a noose around their neck.
7.) People dressing up as Native Americans and just saying they are "Elizabeth Warren".
8.) Skeleton costumes and they say they are "Bernie Sanders, bruh."

Etc.

I can't wait.

I was excited to try it, but it's very very very easy and just didn't seem to have much depth to it compared to things like Odyssey, who I got bored. A small child would probably dig it though.

The latest Zelda game literally looks like all the characters and objects are plastic toys.

Let's not forget about the strange "yarn" phase they went through with those Yoshi and Kirby games.

I don't mind there being family-friendly games for kids and adults who love bright colors and childlike aesthetics........but I really wish Nintendo would make some darker experiences for other gamers.

Astral Chain and stuff like that is a step in the right direction, but as of right now....all the good mature games on Nintendo....are ports from the other consoles.

And seriously. Where. The. Fuck. Is Metroid Prime 4?

I mean, they made Twilight Princess. That was dark. Some of the Zelda lore is dark. And now that they own Bayonetta, they have that. The only Bayo thats a port is one. And Nintendo will fully own 2 and 3. And Astral Chain, like you said. Maybe some others, as well...

But I dont mind Nintendo being less dark. I get dark from the other systems. Might as well use them for lighter games. Fun and family friendly. Stuff like that...

I absolutely ADORED Twilight Princess.

Probably the last Nintendo game that made me genuinely excited. I played the shit out of it. 100% completion. Got all the bugs and ghosts around the world.

No offense to Zelda fans....but everything after Twilight Princess was a step back in the design department. Just my opinion, but I stand by it.

Samus Returns for the 3DS was pretty awesome as well. (That ending suggested a Metroid Fusion remake/sequel as well!)

One that I'm REALLY curious about is Shin Megami Tensei V. That will certainly be mature....and seems to be a Switch exclusive. But maybe it's only a timed exclusive.

So few genuinely dark, difficult, and mature games that are Nintendo exclusives. Kinda makes me sad.

But that's not what the console is all about, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

Mario Party 27. Kirby's Epic Cooking Adventure. Zelda's Music Machine. Yoshi's Dance Studio. Luigi's Bubble Bath Baby Bear (Where you play as Luigi's pet bear that loves bubble baths).

Just seems to be Nintendo's forte.

I didn't drink alcohol until I was 21, and the only reason I did it then was because a really hot girl I was dating at the time liked to drink. The things you'll do for V.

Never tried weed or cigarettes.

Cigarettes have always been disgusting. Absolutely no desire to ever try them. My mom and exstepdad were chain-smokers. My brother had asthma and they still insisted on smoking all the fucking time. Long rides in the car? Cold winter day? We'd use the sleeves of our winter coats as hoses around our nose and mouth to try and filter the smog a bit.

I hates those years of my life. The subtle child abuse. Stepdad saw in the rear view mirror that we were miserable. Choking. He didn't care. Just grunted. Mildly amused. Sadistic look in his eye. He'd light up another as soon as the last was finished.

I hated that man so much. So much.

Weed was for a similar reason. Smoky. Gross. Unfiltered. My lungs were abused enough in my youth.

Plus....there was the 'culture' around pot smoking.

The people that did it......relied heavily upon it in order to have fun or just relax.

The dependence on the substance was kinda unnerving.

I also hated that potheads only liked hanging around other potheads.

If you didn't smoke weed with them...you were a non-entity in their eyes. Really condescending and annoying.

Fucking humans.

Also:

ABC has a really good team that does this work, she wrote via email. But I assume that on a Sunday, when they were probably stretched for staff, they failed to do the necessary verification checks, and under the pressure that comes with breaking news, this got through.

The pressure that comes with breaking news, eh???

(spoilers)

So, I remember seeing an El Camino topic on here recently, so thought I'd make one myself. I'm assuming a few of you have seen it?

Well.

Good lord. My mind is insane, and I'm kinda hoping I wasn't alone in this.

The slow, creepy, build-up flashback to Todd bringing Jesse back to his apartment. Did anyone else get the vibe that he was going to rape Jesse? Please tell me I'm not alone in this assumption.

Oh, but it gets worse.

Then there's the scene where Todd and Jesse go into his kitchen/dining room area.....and I thought for a SPLIT SECOND (before you see the dead body) that Todd had a little creepy weird pedophile kinda set-up where he was going to make Jesse have a tea party with him or some shit.

Jesse sees the weird colorful table and stuff.....and immediately gags, like he put two-and-two together and knows he's about to enter a world of shit.

But he was actually gagging because of the body that was conveniently off-camera this entire time.

Did the director want everyone's minds to wander like this? I didn't realize the dark places I'd go to.

I saw Jesse getting raped, having a tea party with Todd, doing all this creepy role play shit......

Ugh.

I'm fucked up.

Anyone else?

TopicHow many car accidents have you ever gotten into?
GreenKnight127

2 accidents.

The first one was because a guy driving towards me on a two-way road....suddenly decided to pull out in front of me to make a left hand turn. I had to slam my breaks on, turn to the side, and he hit the left front part of my car. I wasn't hurt at all. I was pissed. His airbag deployed because he hit my car head-on. His airbag scratched his forehead when it deployed and made him bleed (which made me happy).

He was apparently a really shitty driver and had a huge record. Insurance paid for everything. He admitted to the police that he pulled out in front of me. Said he couldn't see me because the "sun was in my eyes".

The second accident I was actually on foot. I got hit by a truck.

I was walking on the side of the road in a residential neighborhood, and it was the kind of area with no sidewalks. But there was a dirty/gravel shoulder of the road, and I was walking in that. I had a bright red hoodie on.

I was walking, just minding my own business...and then I heard a car behind me honk its horn. I assumed it was just someone waving to someone in one of the nearby houses. And then I was in the air.

Like, time just fucking stopped. It was the trippiest thing. I've seen it portrayed in movies, but I didn't know it happened for real.

I was in the air, and then I landed on the shoulder of the road. I put my hand and forearm out. EMT's had to use tweezers to pull rocks out of my palm, forearm, and elbow.

As soon as I landed I rolled to the right because I had plenty of time (during slow-motion) to know I was hit by a vehicle, and if I didn't roll as soon as I could, there was a good chance the vehicle would drive over me, which would be bad.

Good thing I rolled to the right.

A 2015 Chevy Silverado hauling Christmas trees just kept on driving. Woulda ran right over me.

He was going about 25 mph, which isn't fast......but it also is. Especially when you are hit by that shit from behind.

I felt zero pain at this point.

I learned so much about the human body that day. We have the ability to slow down time, and we can also make ourselves temporarily immune to ALL pain thanks to adrenaline.

I stood up, kinda looked myself over, was amazed nothing was broken. Saw the gravel and stuff in my arm, saw blood, felt nothing. My left shoe had come off somehow, but I saw that the foot itself was still attached.

I stood up and got a good look at the fucker who just hit me. Easily identifiable. Big truck hauling Christmas trees. I saw him slowdown, and saw the silohuette of his head look up at his rearview mirror, verify I had stood up, and then he sped off.

Two cars that were behind him, and one car that was coming the other way pulled over and ran out to see if I was okay.

I shouted to this poor lady who was running up to me, "TELL ME YOU SAW THAT SHIT!!!!!"

And she was like, "Yes, that guy just hit you! Are you okay! Oh my god oh my god!"

One other person was calling 911.

Dude, the EMT got there in literally 3 minutes. I couldn't believe how fast they got there.

I kept looking my body over, thinking something was broken and didn't know it yet. But I was fine. Cut on my ankle (that lost the shoe somehow), and arm damage.

Cops came, I gave a statement. They caught the guy 3 miles down the road trying to get onto the highway. They identified his truck by the HUGE DENT IN THE FRONT OF IT and he was hauling Christmas trees.

He ended up being a 75 year old dude. Said he "didn't see me". Which was bullshit, because he honked at me, but hit me anyway. He was being a dick.

I got $5000 from his insurance.

I was lucky as hell. The next morning I couldn't move. I hurt all over. Had a bruised elbow, but nothing broken. I'm pretty sure I'm the terminator.

I can't help but notice a trend in my attempts at love

Give yourself more credit than that. It's never one person's fault. We live in very superficial and greedy times.

Some people go on a date and sit back and think, "So what is this person going to do to satisfy ME?"

But they don't realize that they need to satisfy the other person as well.

Just a big ol' generation of ME! ME! ME!

Good luck out there.

Why would you worry about 'you' fucking it up? Relationships are a two-way street. There's a good chance they could be the one who fucks it up, not you. So rejoice in that fact and just relaaaaxxxxx. And don't get clingy. People hate clingy. Good luck.

In porn.

Think about it, many porn videos categories etc are organized by racial criteria.

And porn is basically there to cater to your spank or stir bank.

So by categorizing a lesbian video for example as black and white chick then you are in effect applying racism but in that unique area it is a good thing

Is someone racist if they only want to watch porn with white/black/hispanic/asian/etc people in it?

I thought those were simply preferences, not racism?

I've had interesting conversations with people in the past about this sort of thing.

10 years ago......if a black woman ONLY wanted to date other black guys....people were just like, "Well, that's your preference"....but now people are like, "That's a little racist."

Is it?

Racism is always bad.

Stereotyping, on the other hand, can definitely protect you in many situations.

Just get a read on people. Look at how they're dressed. How they carry themselves. How they talk. Body language. Face tattoos. Stature.

It's not rocket science to admit that there are certain types of people who exude an aura of "Yeah, I should probably avoid that person."

Has nothing to do with racism. Has everything to do with situational awareness and acknowledging that you can tell a lot about a person by the way they look and act, even if you are just passing them on the street.

Waiting periods.

I havent been to all 50 states, but I know that a lot of them can vary on this.

Some places you can literally walk in...buy a gun....and leave with it that day.

Crimes of passion just waiting to happen.

Some kids have stolen their parents guns. In which case: You need to better protect your guns. Lock them up. Keep the bullets separate.

To be completely honest....I think it's all about prevention. Most (dare I say 'every'?) mass shooter has multiple red flags leading up to the shooting. Parents, friends, employers....it's everyone's job to track the mental well-being of the people around you. If someone seems like they are angry, depressed, making a "plan"....yeah.........you need to address that shit. Pronto.

I am so sick of the parents and teachers who knew something was significantly wrong with a certain kid...but just chalked it up to, "Oh, he's an angry teen. Aren't they all?"

Don't ignore the warning signs.

Saturday night would be prudent, but it's not like Friday night has value too.

After work on Friday, I usually just chill at home, crack a beer, watch a movie, invite one or two friends over,...keep it calm and chill.

Saturday? you slept in, you're well rested, stress of work out of your system. You're kind of tuned into the late night already, get to the club, gack up a line, party to dawn.

Sleep it off Sunday

Back to work Monday.

AMEN!!!!!

i wish my friends saw it this way.

So this is something that has always kinda bothered me.

Depending on your group of friends....the results can vary.

My friends have ALWAYS wanted to party on Friday nights. And ONLY on Friday nights.

It's almost become a conspiracy at this point. It's like Saturday isn't even an option for them.

Don't they realize that Friday was part of the work week? Don't they realize that I had to wake up super early this morning and worked a really long and stressful day....and kinda feel like I'd only be running at 50% power if I went out tonight?

Why can't we do it tomorrow night, after I've slept in until noon....had a completely stress-free afternoon, and had time to get all my errands done WITHOUT a hangover???

Saturday night is literally the perfect day (in my opinion).

You got to sleep in that morning....so you can afford to stay up alllllll night and not feel tired. We can close all the bars and clubs down, and STILL have energy to get into all kinds of trouble even after all the businesses have closed. The night is our personal plaything, and we'll have all day Sunday to sober up.

It's literally perfect.

And yes, I realize that some of you might not want to "party" at all. Or some of you crazy kids might want to party Friday night AND Saturday night. Some of you might not even have a job. But for the sake of this poll...let's assume you DO work, and it's a Monday through Friday job....with real traditional hours like 8am to 4pm or so.

As long as it isn't always greasy meatlovers.....pizza really isn't that unhealthy for you.

All in moderation.

And try to exercise every once in a while.

You'll be just fine.

Condiments and sugar are where most Americans absolutely FAIL in their diets.

So much god damn soda and energy drinks. Just pure poison.

And ranch dressing, mayonnaise, mustard, ketchup, etc.....all need to be thrown into a fire.

You are literally just adding pure fat and sodium to otherwise reasonably healthy foods.

Abstinence doesn't work.

Not even with religion.

In fact, it could be argued that religion just makes people into powder kegs of suppressed sexual rage that ends up exploding with magnified force later on.

Have you ever met a preacher's daughter?

Jeeeeeeeeeeeeeezuz!

It works for a very small few. I mean there was a time when people actually said they waited until they were married.

The best aspect of abortion....is that it prevent future criminals from being born.

Young, dumb, unfit, unstable parents? Yeah. Probably best if they don't have ki---*suddenly interrupted by an army of Pro-Life soldiers who descend from the sky on metal cables with guns aimed* "WHY NOT JUST PUT IT UP FOR ADOPTION THEN!?!"

Whoa whoa....holy shit.....um. Force her to carry a child to term that she didn't want?

Besides, many studies have been done that indicate that children in foster care/adoption agencies are often riddled with all kinds of psychological and behavioral issues.

Being abandoned by your biological parents isn't exactly something that's pleasant to live with. These kids often grow up to have serious issues. More inclinations towards criminality and drug use. Had they never been born at all, it would be one less life of depression and turmoil.

However, these "benefits of abortion" only work if BOTH parents agree they don't want the baby.

Things get tricky when you have couples that have been together for years, love one another, and BOTH genuinely WANTED a kid.....but during pregnancy she has some kind of psychological breakdown and wants to abort.

As it stands right now....she could abort that baby in many states....without even needing to provide a REASON. And she doesn't need to inform the father.

Put yourself in the father's shoes (uh oh, I'm asking you to imagine being a guy! The horror!)

You have loved this woman for years. You have both agreed you want children. But during the pregnancy she gets depression, anxiety, doesn't feel a "connection" with the life growing inside her. Feels sick. Isn't attracted to you anymore. Just becomes this emotional, hormonal, unstable woman you don't even recognize. And she decides to kill your baby while you are at work one day. Doesn't even tell you.

That's fucking HARSH.

Yeah....

1.) Regardless of karma or pending moderations....mandatory one week suspensions will be dished out to any user that shares Conservative opinions (or what could even be possibly viewed as Conservative opinions).

2.) The ignore feature will be removed entirely.

3.) Trolls will be given moderation privileges.

4.) Random users will be targeted on a daily basis and have posts moderated/deleted even though other users engaging in conversations with them do/say the exact same stuff but are not also moderated/deleted. This will ensure the toxic community we strive to provide.

5.) All video game content will be removed.

Absolutely not.

I also skipped out on Beauty and the Beast. I will be skipping out on the Lion King as well. I also refused to watch all of those live-action Jungle Book and Mowgli movies that came out within the past couple years (seriously, what the hell is going on with that? Weren't there like 3 remake/reboots within the past decade or so?)

They really need to go back to hand-drawn 2D animation, with even bigger budgets and love.

Hand-drawn animation is timeless.

CGI is outdated within years of it being made.
