Yeah, it's wild. My perception as a kid was always that they were just sculptures of faces. I looked closer as I got older and really saw how much further they wanted to go. Think how cool it would be to pick the project back up and finish it as intended.

Wow, Mount Rushmore is cooler than I thought. I always knew they intended to carve out the chests of Washington and Lincoln at least, and I knew you could see the basic shape of Washington's chest set out...

But if you look closely at Lincoln you can see the top two digits of his hand grabbing at his collar. They got further than I realized.

You haven't played much games then.

I've played plenty. Keep in mind I didn't say that it's the worst game, just the most disappointing. I had high expectations for MGSV, especially after Ground Zeroes.

Phantom Pain was a shell of what it should have been. With such an incredible gameplay engine to play with, it's really disappointing how few interior environments we got. And how every location was just some minor variation on rocky/sandy/grassy plains/hills. No snow region, no proper jungle region, no urban areas...it was lacking a lot of polish and had very little meat. It's a lot of flash and great controls with subpar utilization.

I see there's a mission 43 which isn't a repeat. I haven't done mission 39 40 or 42. But they don't show up as required.

Do them all. The second 'half' of mgsv is mostly repeated missions and little epilogue tidbits here and there.

The biggest problem I have with a textbook is that it confines a lot of what students are learning to a single voice--whoever wrote/edited/published that book chose everything that's included (and everything excluded).

I once heard something interesting, but I forget where: "When you read a book, you're reading it in your own voice. You're repeating another person's words back to yourself in your own voice." That can be a little dangerous if there's not a variety of sources and conflicting accounts to dilute the message. I don't like the idea of letting a kid get too complacent with one tone and one school of thought.

Like TC alluded to, the most important thing a school can teach to a kid is how to think critically and understand the validity and tone of information they read/hear. Learning about world history is great, and all, but if you know everything about the Warsaw Pact and nothing about critical thinking, you might end up believing that the Earth is flat.

Funko Pop is good for characters that aren't just humans in generic outfits. If they've got a unique body shape, or unique hair, or a unique uniform (like Captain Phasma or Boba Fett for example) they're cool.

If it's just a dude in a trench coat with a mask and some weapons, it could be from a hundred different sources.

Up until then the violence had been pretty low-key and PG-13. Then it graduates into impalements, crushing, dismemberment, and all that brutal shit.

Not even getting started on the story revelation, either.

Sonic Adventure (1) has always been my favorite Sonic game. I was never all that invested in the 2D games.

The MMX series has several of my favorite games. X, X2, and X3 are fantastic. X4 is also pretty good, but that's the first mark of a minor decline in quality imo. They got a little too cute with level design in a couple of places.

I've probably beaten the first three games at least ten times each, and I know I've passed twenty with X3.
