A lot of the double damage enemies in hollow knight at least made sense imo. They werent super common but when you got hit by them its like okay that thing was massive I guess that makes sense

silksong just throws double damage at you constantly and very early on and it doesnt make the game more fun its just kind of annoying
I think Silksong is pretty logical when it comes to what gives double damage. Like it's pretty safe to assume if the enemy or boss is large, it's going to deal double damage. And most small enemies that deal it have multi-hit blade attacks. Honestly, I think people would have much less of a problem if contact damage didn't deal double damage. Not saying they should have changed that, but I think that's probably the aspect of it that makes it so much harder to deal with.

Holy hell I finally beat that high halls enemy encounter. Those 2 big guys are so terrible, 2mask damage and you can't get close often because of all the attack spamming. Definitely the hardest thing in the game for me so far
Yeah just beat this myself and I can see why it'd be one of the toughest encounters in the game for most people. I went in with a second needle upgrade, so I think that helped a ton. At the end I was just spamming all my tools, and they made good work of the big guys for sure. Key to that is getting them to mostly stay on the same side of the room with each other. Being in between them is suicide.

I'd say no, but with how popular Silksong's launch was, it's inevitable that there are going to be a ton of people that simply won't be able to beat the game. So they're kinda screwed unfortunately. I guess the same could be said of Hollow Knight, but Silksong is definitely way harder.

They're not retconned, more like ignored. At least so far.

I think the major lore conflict so far is that the ship in Alien: Earth launched before the Prometheus did yet it is still pretty clearly a Weyland-Yutani ship. The companies had not merged until after Prometheus. It was definitely a Yutani venture, but still weird to see all the stuff labeled WY on board.

There's a couple different builds you can go down, and stealth is one of them. The most popular build is focused on Intelligence and Quickhacking. Quickhacks are your equivalent of powers or magic in other games. But even there you can choose to be stealthy or loud.

Also, you are restricted to a small portion of the map for Act 1. There are some sidequests you can do during that, but you may want to wait till Act 2 to do them too for story-related reasons. Not really a big deal either way though.

I think the franchise creator, Ridley Scott worked on it so that's probably why it's so good.

Resurrection is just a bit too weird for me. I don't think it's bad, it still managed to be an entertaining movie. I really like the scene where the xenomorphs escape by killing one of their own. I thought that was pretty clever. But it's my least favorite of the classic 4 films.

Predator isn't canon.

At least not to Alien.

Alien is canon to Predator though.
I guess it's kind of dubious, since the xenomorph skull in Predator 2 is just an easter egg really. Like how Tyrell Corporation is mentioned in some of the Alien movies.

It's more like there are three separate canons, Alien, Predator, and Alien vs. Predator. I agree that Alien is totally separate from the other two. But it does look like Predator's canon is definitely merging with Alien vs. Predator's canon at this point.

Agreed. This one was clearly a table setting episode, but table setting done well. Just setting everyone up to spiral to destruction in traditional Alien fashion.
I fully expect most of the characters to die mainly because the whole xenomorph thing has to be kept on the down-low for it to make sense in the timeline. Also because it's the Alien series obviously. Weyland-Yutani is not getting those specimens back at least. I just wonder what role the eye monster is going to play because they're giving it equal importance to the xenomorph so far.

Also, looks like Kirsh is going down the David route.

I'm guessing next episode is going to explain what exactly happened on the Maginot.
