They were lied to.

Taking your top off for a movie or video is not the same as taking your top off for a video game.

Technically, only one girl was, not multiple. They did their best by checking IDs and having the participants sign a legal waiver, but they couldn't predict a fake ID. I don't think they had those scanners back then and even if they did, some fakes are made with properly encoded data so that's not a fool proof way of checking a fake. She knowingly got a fake ID to drink underage and knowingly signed a form releasing rights to the footage they took of her, even though she claimed later she didn't know what the footage would be used for which is a flimsy defense if you ask me. You can logically infer it'd be used for some kind of media, like a DVD or game or magazine or pay per view or SOMETHING. She made a stupid mistake and learned from it, which is fine. But I don't think the production team did anything inherently wrong during filming. How they handled it afterward is another story, although.

I'd have greater sympathy for the game's producers had they not gotten women and girls to take their tops off under false pretenses. They said they were filming a game show, not a video game.

Happened to South Africa.

That happened because the invading nations were more developed than the nations being exploited. It doesn't compare to the prospect of 30% of America dominated the rest of the nation. We don't lack for technology, education, or any of the resources they have. In fact, I'd say the progressives probably have the advantage in the education department.

And before anyone gets on my case, saying that South Africa was less developed is not a racial statement. People are people and always have been. But the roads they've had to walk have not always been equal.

Europeans lived in an environment with fewer natural hazards, comparatively moderate temperatures, less dangerous wildlife, and more wildlife that could be domesticated. A horse will try and throw a rider, but will eventually give in and be ridden. A zebra has the power to successfully throw a rider and will trample said antagonist until they are dead. (To date, they have not been domesticated.) If you go back thousands of years, you're talking about the advancement of nations pulled by chariots against the advancement of nations restricted primarily to travel on foot. That set the curve for several centuries.

So, no. It isn't a case of something that has happened before and could happen again. We're not talking about nations that have enjoyed centuries of life on easy mode subjugating or exploiting those who faced far greater restrictions. We're talking about 30% of a nation trying to rule 100% of a nation. We're talking about the less educated ruling the more educated and more numerous. And that can only happen if we roll over and let it happen.

I once had a bizarre dream in which theyd decided that they were going to remake the Lord of the Rings films and for some reason the casting director was decided by a lottery. It being my dream, I got the job, but I was visited by some shady dudes who made it very clear that if I didnt ensure the failure of the film then I would be in grave danger.

So I go to this meeting where Im supposed to be pitching my ideas, and in order to make it flop, Im saying crazy shit like we should get Danny Devito to play Aragorn and Samuel L Jackson to be Gandalf and Melissa McCarthy to play Legolas. But everybody that I suggested the studio bigwigs acted like it was a fucking fantastic idea and I was some sort of visionary genius. Ended up with Clint Eastwood as Frodo and David Mitchell from Peep Show as Saruman.

I awoke kind of wishing that the film existed because it would be a massive car crash.

Clint Eastwood as Frodo?

Is it too late to make this happen?

I dreamt last night about an Italian-Japanese coproduction from the 1970s in which a man in a biker jacket used martial arts and limited super powers to fight Nazi aliens and their mutant henchmen.

Hordes of emboldened Neo Nazis sided with the space aliens against humanity. They marched through the streets wearing World War II helmets as their leader beat a marching drum with a swastika emblazoned on it. But when a multicultural group of human heroes drove semi-trucks through their encampment, demolishing everything in sight, the Neo Nazis scattered and fled without putting up any fight whatsoever.

As for the protagonist, he fought a mystical human antagonist right out of an anime, a fish man who looked like a budget knockoff of the Creature from the Black Lagoon, and a three-headed monster which spat lightning. (It was the same costume as the Godzilla monster Ghidorah, but reused to portray a human-sized monster.) I gotta say, I would have really enjoyed this movie in real life.

I have many questions about Bruce Lee had he lived. I think he undoubtedly would have become more vocal in his activism as time went on. And that makes me wonder if he would have become a subject of controversy. How would he have adapted to the growing action genre of the 1980s or would he have singlehandedly redirected the course of action in Hollywood?

If you look at his film persona, I imagine Hollywood would have liked for him to have been the sidekick for a White lead -- like a Burt Reynolds or a Charles Bronson. Would he have agreed to that or would he have stuck with films in which he was the lead whether they were A films or B films? How long would it have taken for one of his characters to have a White love interest?

What would have happened to Bruce Lee the action star as he grew older? Bruce Lee understood that, by the end of the movie, people would want a competitive fight. He'd take on an opponent with a complimentary style, someone who was bigger than him, or someone who would cheat. Would he have remained true to that when he was 40? Or would a midlife crisis have gotten the better of him? If you look at Chuck Norris, he reached a point in his career where the bad guy in the final showdown would only get offense one time no matter how long the fight lasted. (The Hitman, Missing in Action 2, Walker: Texas Ranger, Sidekicks, etc.)

Would Bruce Lee have branched out into multiple genres or stayed making films like The Big Boss and Enter the Dragon?

That makes no sense lol, Star Fox 64 didn't come out until 1997

They knew they were going to make a Star Fox 64 though. They wanted a pronounced improvement over the original and enough temporal distance to justify it being a reboot instead of a sequel.

But if you go back a generation earlier, there were tons of NES sequels that had SNES sequels or reboots within a year or two of their release. Mega Man, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, CastleVania, etc. It'd be like cancelling Super Mario Bros. 3 so that people could see what a vast improvement Super Mario World was over the first game.

They really left money on the table with that decision.
