Target didn't really exist for me as a kid then one day I visited one in a bigger city (dallas) and a year or so later it came to our town and we all did a little dance then soon forgot about it as was the tradition when a new store opened up in a small town. I never really shopped there much but I did get my 3ds there.

I see neat technological advancements all the time.

This was a different feeling that I can't really articulate correctly.

SNES to n64 to GameCube all felt significant. There was this natural optimistic exciting progression of things that grew as you grew. Ps4 to ps5 isn't significant at all. It's like getting a job promotion and still hating your life vs transferring to a completely different job and being happy.

There's neat scientific advancements but I don't really see those advancements providing practical use like improving our wellbeing or even offering exciting new media. Best I can think of is VR but I'm personally not a fan . In fact to add to that despite things being more advanced somehow it feels like things are more cumbersome. Again can't really properly articulate exactly what I mean but sometimes old junk is better than new crop.

Pizza hut used to be legit. Then they got corporatized and started using the cheapest ingredients for "consistency"

Zoomers might not understand but imagine a world that seemingly existed just for you, that seemingly grew up with you, where constant significant advancements were constantly being made. Things just get better, that was the 90s standard. That's the world we grew up in. Now the world we live in is a stagnating shit stain circling the toilet bowl.

On topic, my gf sends me silly tik toks all the time. I watch every one of them, make some kind of comment, and she sends me another after a bit. It's just a way of sharing your experiences with somebody. It doesn't have to have a purpose, or a deeper meaning, other than "hey look at this thing I saw and want you to see, too"

effort. imo odyssey is the only game nintendo has released on switch with effort. everything else was from wii u. they mustve blew their load hard on wii u era since they are recycling all of stuff on switch. wouldnt be suprised if odyssey started out as a wii u title.

sleeping beauty didnt have nearly the type of musical stage direction encanto did imo. it feels like the characters are real and on a stage, thats how expressive they are

im kind of iffy on the direction its taking mainstream animation with trying to make a "let it go" hit to sell the movie, but damn is the animation solid and this is going to be a landmarj movie in terms of trends for awhile

also can we just reflect for a second they had real human references for the shadow rat back up dancers that were in frame for like less then 5 seconds? holy shit the attention to detail

id totally watch a stage rendition of encanto

best examples are the bits of what else can i do and we dont talk about bruno, but just how expressive characters are the entire movie, their facial mannerisms CONSTANTLY changing, its subtle, but animation wise it just feels like on a whole other level. It's cg but everything about it is so fluid and organic. It really is breathtaking. I think the concept of the movie being so hardcore musical , they really take it the extra mile by how detailed these characters move and express themselves. I mean i've seen song and dance numbers in cg movies before, but in encanto it feels different.
