I gave to the Myst Series Remaster Kickstarter and still have the physical copies of all those games for PC, including the funky case that's pretty much a Linking Book and haven't touched them yet. Should get on that. >_>

I think it's difficult to deliver a Star Wars movie, or at least one within the Skywalker Saga as people have come to expect, and present an examination into the Force that goes beyond treating it as a superpower (or collection of superpowers).

I mean, the closest any movie comes to that is ESB during Yoda's training as he goes on about the nature of the Force. Of course, he then follows that up by hauling Luke's X-Wing out of the swamp as a display of power.

Books are better at it, far and away. Comics and TV shows and video games can kinda get into the philosophical nature of the Force, but tend to push that aside when "action needs to happen".

We had cheers and such at my showing throughout. I'd be lying if I said there wasn't some laughter at some of the third act dramatic moments.

It did some interesting stuff and had some ideas but ultimately didn't follow through on a lot of what it could have.

Oh well. Still interested to see what Rian Johnson can do with his own thing.

Impeachment seems necessary (from a non-partisan point of view) but I can only see it hurting dems in the long run. The talking point in 2020 elections will be "remember when the dems got it all wrong and I was the most innocent man in american history? See, the senate agreed!"

May I point out that you made a topic just yesterday about how the Politics board didn't agree with you on this subject and you came here and whined, calling them "an echo chamber for the left"?

With that out of the way, we don't impeach presidents as a move for political gain. We impeach presidents because we believe and would like the opportunity to establish that they are unfit for office.

So, we have a moral and legal imperative to impeach. Not impeaching shows that the entire government truly is completely useless at the job it has set out to do. Impeachment in this case will more than likely show that one very specific aspect of our government, the Republican bloc of the Senate, is the real issue of uselessness.

Who among voters will look at the situation of a president being impeached and being acquitted by a clearly biased Republican bloc of Senate and say "well, I didn't vote for Trump before, but I guess I gotta vote for him now"?
