I can barely recall hearing about that sort of thing back when I was a kid. But I'll remind you that you have to convince society that you don't mean "dam up the rivers and ruin your sportsmans areas and destroy nature, and grandma is gonna lose her home in part of the flooded area". I would argue that Hydroelectric on the sort of scale we'd need isn't good for the environment. You can't just dam up a bunch of rivers and expect that not to have negative local consequences.

C and D batteries? fuck that get a baseball bat + mini mag.

C and D cells are still popular even with the LEDs in the security guy market. Plenty of places say the security guy isn't allowed to have a weapon, and in this case, a bat would qualify as such, but they'd be hard pressed to argue they can't have a flashlight.

I imagine if they use the same LEDs, the C and D might last longer too.

Actually, the biggest mistake of the Russo-Japanese War was Tsar Nicholas ending it. The Japanese weren't exactly in great straits there, but the battle looked bad enough to convince the Tsar to take advice to sue for peace. It was really the point of no return for the fall of the Russian Empire.

Especially if they were the only two on the road. The only time it becomes seriously dangerous is if you turn on to an Interstate with people going 60 or 80mph and decide you're gonna do 40. And even then, if the guy who is coming up is paying attention, he could probably avoid an accident. While blowing his horn and flipping the bird at you for driving like a granny.

Unless you have a dash cam it's more likely you'd have taken the bigger hit for following too closely to avoid an accident. They'd all get insurance payouts and your rates would skyrocket, and you'd be out a car.

I forget the name of it, but the current theory is that we become so used to being around people in our youth that we have no sexual reaction to them, as some evolutionary safeguard against doing anything Sigmund Freud thought we wanted to. And being they were raised as basically siblings, she shouldn't have any attraction to him whatsoever.
