Maybe board owners should understand that content creators (aka posters) decide what gets posted, and they shouldnt go surprised_pikachu themselves if limitations lead to people leaving or a shutdown.
Fandom is a poster child for a greedy corp that only cares about ad revenue. They don't see us as "content creators", and for the record, if you aren't actively making guides, you aren't one. They see us as the product, not the people consuming the product. What they're selling is us viewing ads. We're the product and ad agencies are the buyers.

And if you want to discuss politics, find a Reddit sub. Well, most of CE's more prolific political trolls are probably banned because even Reddit has tighter standards than GameFAQs.

It's mostly CE because CE is full of people who insist on pushing limits.

To wit: Fandom has all the political boards shut down. To a reasonable person, this would appear that Fandom does not want political debate. CE promptly complained about it for a week then proceeded to ignore the obvious, and frankly got worse about it. And now Fandom has said "Since CE won't get the message, CE is now private."

CE is naturally full of people who went "Surprised_Pikachu.jpg"

The really impressive part to me is there are people who were around when LUE got shuttered for being a magnet for toxicity and bad publicity, or at least know about it happening, and are still surprised it happened to CE. And that happened well before Fandom.

Maybe this will boost support for trains.
Not really. There are a lot of issues with Amtrak in the US that prevent it from being a reasonable alternative to regional airlines. Similar costs to flying is one. If you pay for a roomette you'll at least get slightly more space, but it's not significantly cheaper. If you account for travel time you could argue it costs more in fact. Second, Amtrak leases trackage rights for most of the rails they run on. This is an issue because UP, CSX, NS, and BNSF (I think that's all of the Class 1s in the US anyway), aren't exactly keen to let Amtrak go ahead of them. Which shouldn't be an issue because they're required to give Amtrak priority by either law or regulation, except not only does no one follow this regulation (with impunity), the length of freight trains in many instances actually exceeds the length of passing sidings, so if they stopped, the next train couldn't get through in either direction. So they physically cannot follow the regulation. Which leaves two solutions, neither of which are really feasible. First, we can build Amtrak owned trackage to avoid the issue entirely. Which won't happen because it would be tax payer funded, and it's incredibly unlikely you could sell that to the American taxpayer that tends to favor airplanes overall anyway, and that's before the airline lobby gets involved. Option two, actually enforce regulations that say Amtrak always has priority and freight must wait for it to pass, which would require making a regulation that says trains can't be longer than the shortest passing siding on their route. Alternatively you could make the Class 1 railroads make them longer, but I'd assume that regulation would naturally cause that. This won't happen because of the railroad lobby. A lot of bulk material we depend on moves by rail, so they've got more power than most people would give credit for.

So, I actually looked it up. As far as companies that make a wide-body jet airliner, I found 4.
Boeing and Airbus, and if you life in the US that's all you'll likely see.
Ilyushin, which is Russian and the Il-96 is only in low rate production, and is only operated by one company not owned by the Russian Government. Cubana, of... Oh fucking guess.
And Comac. Which is the brand name for a Chinese state corporation. They're trying to get certified by European agencies.

It doesn't really improve if you go to narrow body, it just adds Tupolev. Also Russian.

There aren't really a lot of airplane manufacturers.

I mean, looking at the circumstances, it's reasonable to be suspicious. Especially when Boeing is not only the only US manufacturer of airplanes in that class (and in the West generally they're part of a duopoly with Airbus), but they're a huge American defense contractor. I almost wonder if they did have him assassinated, if the assassin was late though. Given "former Boeing safety inspector takes own life amid Boeing safety flaws debacle" is a lot more innocuous of a headline than "Boeing Whistleblower found dead in car in apparent suicide after testifying", especially when your subheading is going to say "he was due to testify a second time"

BlueKat posted...
- Drivers say they're routinely getting blinded by surrounding cars' headlights.
- This isn't because headlight regulations have changed regulations on brightness haven't been altered in decades.
- In reality, it's due to misaligned headlights, taller vehicles, and the changing hue of the lights.

Interesting...according to this, headlights aren't brighter, they're just misaligned, higher up on vehicles, and of different hues? I mean, I feel all of those are true but I swear some are definitely brighter--maybe some car companies are just skirting the regulations
The hue is the biggest reason they feel brighter, I think. Red at 500 lumens feels dimmer than blue at 500 lumens. It's something to do with how each wavelength interacts with the rods and cones in your eyes. LED headlights are by and large "cool" white, versus the warmer white you got with halogens. So I suppose the real solution would be to use warmer LEDs for headlights.

I'm not sure what his role there is, if at all, and don't feel like looking it up, but Nash has always had a reputation for backstage politics. I honestly wouldn't be shocked if he's hedging his bets on this, just in case Vince somehow manages to worm out of this and make it back into WWE. I don't think that will happen, but it's also not my job on the line if I call Vince McMahon a piece of shit and he gets back into WWE. Figure that Nash is probably thinking about the steroid scandal and working under a "he beat that somehow, so he could beat this too" logic.

There's also this. Kurt was released so he could go rehab his neck in the way it SERIOUSLY needed. I'm fairly sure it never really healed after he broke it winning a gold medal (yes, that really did happen). Instead he went and started wrestling in TNA. It's honestly amazing he's not more fucked up than he is physically. Especially because he's absolutely on steroids, he wasn't in the Olympics, but after years of tearing himself apart wrestling he absolutely is. Take a look at Angle in his WWE debut through the early 00s, then at the end of his first WWE run and TNA run, and beyond. Angle got absolutely jacked. And a lot of it is around his neck, like instead of rehabing it, he's tried to build a bunch of muscle up to make up for the fact at least one vertebrae is sort of fucked.
