Its also basically a weapon. You can defend yourself with it or bust out a car window if you get stuck in the car.

The Mini? Fuck no it's not. Now one of the C or D cell models. Yeah, totally a weapon. And they sell things to improve on the fact it's an alluminium tube with a bunch of heavy ass batteries in it.

practically speaking, with the power of LEDs, I'd never want to own a flashlight that took anything but a AA or AAA (maybe).

C and D batteries? fuck that get a baseball bat + mini mag.

C and D cells are still popular even with the LEDs in the security guy market. Plenty of places say the security guy isn't allowed to have a weapon, and in this case, a bat would qualify as such, but they'd be hard pressed to argue they can't have a flashlight.

I imagine if they use the same LEDs, the C and D might last longer too.

I agree that if the company is paying for it, or if you are a security guard, then the large Maglite makes sense.

Can't just carry a baseball bat around, it looks bad for Cyberdyne Systems.

Basically yeah. I imagine most places if you're carrying a bat around at 11PM and nowhere near a baseball field, you're gonna have some questions to answer.
