at least where i live, chains are no more consistent than anything else. if it's been a busy day, or you happen to get the wrong people working, your chances of getting a complete disaster are through the roof.

Maybe I should consider myself lucky, because I've never really noticed this - at least not at big fast food chains. Their standardization, both in ingredients and training, generally result in a product that's pretty... standardized. I mean yeah, your three pickles might be stacked on top of each other, but at least they'll be in the burger.

It wouldn't solve all my problems - that's pretty unrealistic - but it should really improve my life.

My life is fine as is, but it would be nice not to stress about money and employment anymore. And honestly... I probably wouldn't want too much money. I know it sounds crazy, but I've thought about this, and I think I'd be much happier with $5 million in my bank account tomorrow vs Jeff Bezos wealth.

This was just about the first time I've ever watched hockey, and I respect the hell out of the athleticism and stamina it requires. It has to be the most frenetic sport I've ever seen.

As maybe the only active Board 8er who lives in the Vegas area, I'm happy to tell you guys that absolutely nothing (apart from last year's shooting) has brought this town together the way this team has. For the past several weeks, every time I go out, I see maybe 10-20% of the people rocking Knights gear. At the gym, at the grocery store, lining their cars - it's everywhere. It's a greater sense of community and camaraderie than I've ever seen with any SoCal sports team growing up (probably because it's the first Vegas has ever had), and I hope it lasts beyond Cinderella runs like this one.

My only regret is not seeing a live game during the inaugural season - especially now that I'll have to pay a lot more to do so.

If they win this year do they officially become like a dynasty even if they dont win again?

Absolutely. Four straight finals and winning three of em - that's what the Shaq/Kobe Lakers did, and everyone considers that team a dynasty. I might give the Lakers a smidgen more credit since it takes a lot of hunger to win three in a row, but it's splitting hairs at that point.

And that's why I'd be surprised if this dynasty lasted beyond next season - not because I expect Klay or anyone else to leave, but because they're bound to lose their hunger. It's why I dispute the claim that the Bulls would have won eight straight had Jordan never retired.

EDIT: Sorry, I forgot that the Lakers didn't make four straight finals (Spurs stopped em from that in 03). Maybe the Warriors deserve the smidgen more credit!

I suggest ME2 just so you can experience the series while it's most fresh, but Bioshock is another great choice. Its gameplay is really fun.

It was 50 for the first playthrough.

Weren't there recent rumors that Maggie's actress was also thinking about leaving?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_The_Walking_Dead_episodes#Ratings

Ratings have been slipping for three seasons, with the most significant drop occurring in Season 8 (especially after Carl left). Not sure about the notion that "everyone's replaceable" if the loss of a character like Carl can lead to such an immediate ratings hit. If Carl can do that, what would the loss of Rick do?

Literally no one would surprise me because of the witch hunt mentality of guilty until proven innocent the movement has at this point in time

I'm not saying all the allegations are nonsense, just that it's easy enough for them to gain traction off little enough evidence that I could see anyone that pissed some people off at some point in their careers being targeted.

Eh I dunno, I think a large part of it is that women simply excused this behavior much more years ago. I spoke with two older women about this at the time that Matt Lauer news was breaking (one is a tax client, the other was an admin at my old job). They both said that when they were working back when "they were young," it was common for the boss to pinch the secretaries or receptionists on the bum and was hardly considered a big deal. They criticized the women of today for blowing up what they considered a non-issue.

When a story breaks that includes allegations from multiple independent women (eight in this case), I'm more likely to believe it right away.

Where I may differ from the average bystander - here's everyone's chance to call me a piece of shit - is that I don't think a story like this is THAT huge of a deal. Morgan Freeman is a pervert and is gross toward women; yes, that's disappointing, but it's planets apart from the actual monstrous shit people like Cosby or Spacey pulled.

I understand this mindset. It's expensive, traffic can be an absolute nightmare, and the music... ain't for everybody. Hell, it ain't even for me. I rarely listened to electronic music before this, and I probably won't start now, yet my roommate and I have already discussed the possibility of going to more of these. The vibe of the place - the vibrancy of the colors against a black backdrop, the pulsation of the music (which honestly all bled together to me), the strange but disarming charm of the people - can't really be put into words. You just gotta feel it, and look at me now talking like one of them.

I don't have any singular crazy stories because it was an all-around crazy experience - though I will say that my weekend was GREATLY enhanced by having a friend who knew her way around the scene. This childhood friend has attended many raves over the years, so she took us under her wing with her crew, led us around to some great sets of music, and provided high-quality MDMA that she personally tested beforehand. I wouldn't have had nearly as good a time without a veteran leading the way.

But yeah, as for overall takeaways:

- The venue is huge. Our group walked several miles every night.

- Water is important. There are free water stations, but the lines are generally insane and make the $5 bottled waters somehow look like a decent idea.

- Molly curbs hunger, so I didn't try any of the food there (which actually looked good).

- It's an actual carnival with quite a few cool looking rides. I tried none because no one in my group is a "ride person" and I didn't wanna go solo. =(

- Because of the venue's size, the sheer number of ppl, and bad reception, it's VERY easy to get loss. Tons of groups walked around in a single file line while holding hands.

- They had nightly fireworks - the second best I've ever seen in my life (doubt Disneyland can ever be topped in this regard).

- In general, people were unbelievably kind. Strangers were fanning each other to stave off the heat, weed and water were shared liberally, and it was just a friendly, accepting vibe overall.

- It might be the largest gathering of nearly-naked women in the world. I couldn't believe how many girls were so comfortable showing off their bodies, and I wasn't complaining. Seriously, booty everywhere.

- It's a logistical nightmare with seemingly no workaround. Whether you're driving or shuttling, getting to or from the carnival will take a long time. The ID/security lines were the only times I saw people upset; once inside the venue, it was all smiles and PLUR.
