You can kill so many enemies with a single weapon if you take the time to study the combat system. Yes, the game will be a struggle if you approach combat the same way as in other Zelda games, but you're not supposed to.

Yeah, the more you kill, the stronger they and their weapons become. Almost everything scales.

And the combat in the game is pretty robust in general. There are options to kill everything - including enemies with thousands of HP - with a bare minimum of weapon degradation. I don't think the game punishes you for fighting, but you can argue it punishes you for not experimenting with the combat system.

For example, any electric weapon (or shock arrows) immediately disarm all regular enemies. Disarm them with one electric hit. Pick up their weapon. Now they're fucked. Or, if you already have a full weapon arsenal, drop your crappiest weapon and pick up their superior one. Now they'll be forced to use the crappy weapon you just dropped (assuming you don't kill them before they pick it up).

Also, defense is king imo. A high defense trivializes almost every enemy. You've probably already found one fairy fountain, so maybe you can purchase the Soldier's armor (I think this is also found in Hateno) and upgrade it once. It's inexpensive, has a high defense, and is among the easiest armors to upgrade early on.

Yeah, I think that might help. Upgraded bombs and stasis can be really viable in combat. As red said, upgraded bombs have almost no cooldown, so you can spam between the two. They don't do much damage, but they knock most enemies down and have a chance at disarming them (which would really help with your other challenge of breaking weapons too quickly). Upgraded stasis is almost overpowered.

It's a tough game at the onset, but it isn't SO brutal that Game Overs should become a meme (at least it wasn't for me, and I'm not skilled or anything). Maybe you've not gotten some early-game stuff that can really help...

Have you gone to Hateno Village? IIRC, the main quests direct you there after first visiting Kakariko. There, you can upgrade some of your Sheikah slate abilities (bombs and stasis) which makes things a lot easier.

Write-up warmed my heart. Pretty much everyone not in the Kliq has spoken about the unrivaled king of assholes that was 90s Shawn. Aside from his theme song and his level of passion in the ring, there wasn't much I ever really liked about the guy (never much cared for his work style also, running around like a headless chicken all the time).

This obviously won't mean much, but in the interest of accuracy: I think $1500 for tickets in your case would mean you're getting park hopper tickets (meaning you can hop from Disneyland to CA Adventure in the same day). I really don't think you need something like that on a 5-day vacation, which is more than enough time to see both parks. I'd recommend the regular tickets, which seem to be $1242 on their website.

But yeah, not a big change...

And to your other point, yeah, I don't take it for granted how lucky I am to visit so often. Growing up, my aunt worked for Disney corporate and got us in for free several times. Later on, my parents got us annual passes when they were still affordable (the bargain ones for SoCal residents used to cost $100 in the late 90s - now it costs more to visit for one day). I went so often that I actually got bored of Disneyland and didn't go from like... age 15 to 28. I rediscovered it the last few years, and while it's more expensive to go now (probably $350 for my gf and I, parking and food included), it's still nothing compared to what traveling families have to pay. It's the vacation of a lifetime for so many families.

I know you can get pretty good discounts for multiple days, so $1000 for tickets doesn't sound that unbelievable. I actually just checked Disney's website, and basic (not park hopper) 5-day tickets are $1242 for two adults and two kids. So I'd imagine the $1000 you see is legit, but no way could it cover airfare or hotels.

It's true that "the best way to get a job is to have a job" is sound advice, but sometimes, the misery of a person's current job completely overpowers that logic. My gf left her job a couple weeks ago without anything "in the big" even though she has an opportunity she's close to landing. I'm glad she did, because the stress of that job was practically killing her, and the idea of staying there until she DID land something else depressed her even more. It happens to a lot of people.

Overall, I guess it was just a "good" presentation. Mario Party looks fun and it seems like Nintendo is getting more third parties than they have been in a while, which is encouraging, though the absence of Retro and "other" big Nintendo first party games is disappointing.

THAT SAID, Smash is easily the biggest game of E3 and is damn near big enough that it almost trivializes everything else for me.

Fun topic. I went twice last year and think that's probably my "sweet spot" especially as a southern Nevada resident who has a long commute there. Twice a year is enough to satisfy my Disney jones, and that means I'll probably never have to pay for annuals.

The first visit was with in the spring with a big group of 12 family members. My girlfriend and I knew the park best, so we planned the general ride order and did all the running around for fast passes. We ran into Snow White and Ariel near the castle at like 8:30 in the morning, and there was NO ONE around with them, which was shocking considering the lines one generally sees for character interactions. The pic my girlfriend and I got with Snow White was the first picture I ever took with a character at Disney, and it was... surprisingly fun. We also grabbed a picture with Tiana inside the big steamboat, and she also barely had a line. That was one of the best "time investments" of the day because she's my gf's favorite Disney character, so she was beaming the rest of the day.

The second visit was in early December for my birthday, and this was when I discovered the magic of the new "Max Pass" - essentially Fast Pass on your phone. For $10 extra per ticket, you're able to get Fast Passes on your phone. For anyone with a knack for pre-planning and watching the clock (ie: the average Board 8er), this fee is worth every penny and allows you to fucking break the park. We rode Space Mountain, Indiana Jones, Matterhorn, and Big Thunder twice each and never waited more than 15 minutes. And my feet weren't throbbing at the end of the day.

Oh, and as cheesy as it may sound, Disney is illuminated with extra magic during the holiday season. The decorations are beautiful and the atmosphere is truly jolly - my gf and I agreed that our favorite moment was when they dropped a ton of fake snow on Main Street at the conclusion of the fireworks. For some reason, it just got everyone good (especially kids, who were losing their minds).
