My experience is tamer than mnk's. Maybe it's just luck, but I've hardly ever seen a spider in seven years of suburban Las Vegas living. I've seen ONE black widow when walking at night, and that's honesty the lone spider sighting I can think of (ignoring the harmless tiny ones, and even those have been quite rare). I also know scorpions can be a problem here, but I haven't seen one of those either.

It's as much of a surprise to me as anyone, but I've found Las Vegas to be much better in terms of bug-squeamishness than our old family house in SoCal.

For what it's worth, I did see my first rattlesnake a couple months ago. Pretty epic.

I'm glad you're enjoying it. I loved this series back in 05-06 but am a little worried as to how they've aged (especially the first). I do remember it being pretty challenging though, especially if you're not as leveled as you should be.

I do some looking up, and it looks like the Final Mix version (which I assume you're playing) gives you what I considered the game-breaking ability at Level 43. The original game gave it at 30, which IIRC almost trivialized everything else.

EDIT: And it also seems that the ability was nerfed in Final Mix. Bastards making things HARDER.

This is a Bloodborne board, baby!

I've played Demon's and Dark Souls, and while both are good, Bloodborne took it to another level. The combat system is just so tight, the areas are well designed (and much more varied after the DLC was released), and the bosses might be the best in gaming history. One of the early criticisms was against the streamlining of RPG elements (it's harder to be a mage or long-range character in this game), but that's never concerned me because the melee weapons are all so unique that individual weapon-based runs are viable.

I root for ARG because I love Messi, but I'm also a pretty casual soccer fan so I'm not sure if there are any well publicized reasons to dislike the guy. For what it's worth, I also really enjoy Ronaldo, but I've always preferred Messi.

I've rooted for Argentina since the 90s since I clung to anyone who could defeat Brazil, but I've supported them more since Messi came along.

And I don't wanna derail this topic too much, but those last two posts are that very "recency bias" personified. When Jordan started winning (essentially when Pip matured into an all star), he never had to beat the best team in the league, because he always was on the best team in the league. MJ never lost when his Bulls had the top seed in the East.

Perhaaaaps it's a bit telling that the iconic moment that rivals The Block is one of an old timer bailing LeBron out of another finals loss.
