I can agree with darkx's rankings. Just move Chelsea above Jack, put Tommy in his own tier (but keep his position the same) since he's not a bad person at all like those other three, and move Dean above Tommy because even though he's a complete dumbass who has 0% chance to win, Dean is at least entertaining, while Tommy is not. I don't hate Tommy; I simply have no strong feelings toward him. That is pretty unforgivable for the winner of the season, and that in turn makes me have strong feelings toward his editorial deprivation. (If Tommy somehow doesn't win, then maybe things will be different, but I don't expect that...)

This was a bad season and Survivor is going to struggle to wash themselves of this blight. 2019 is the worst year for Survivor ever - yes, it's somehow worse than 2011, which had my least favorite season ever (South Pacific) and Redemption Island. Simply put, EOE and IOI showcase two separate things that Survivor should NOT be. One was completely ruined by a twist that overshadowed the game and its contestants. The other was completely ruined by a predator and a toxic fandom that would find fault with the show's handling of that situation regardless.

All of this is making me want to become a casual. I've already decided to forgo being an RHAP patron any longer, as I am getting no value out of that money (especially since Rob refuses to do a Live KIA in the Midwest). Perhaps I will treat S40 as the coda like many are and then figure out what the hell I'm going to do next.

Ah well, at least we have Survivor AU All-Stars and Survivor SA8 to look forward to in 2020.

People would've complained about how Survivor handled this regardless of what they did. If they removed Dan, "they should've done it on day one!!!" (when that makes no sense) or "that's not fair, let the players decide like always!" They did a fine job of navigating something complex, especially given their lack of experience in doing so. The biggest whiners are like the heterophobic idiots who blasted Sarah Lacina for not understanding "THAT" when it happened... like she's supposed to be psychic or something? Uh, hello. She reacted like a normal person. Survivor had to deal with this in a way that made sense for the game and they're not one to interfere as much as Grodner. And for that, I respect them. They did fine.

Also, Feely Dan's edit sorta tapered downward, with them only showing relevant content, after the merge episode. I preferred this to them constantly dragging it back into the show, which some of the serial whiners wanted them to do. What is with those people? They want this to taint Survivor even more than it already has? They'd probably have complained about it being brought up again, too.

1. Dan Lembo - actually an interesting and complex guy. Also had a memorable exit interview that I plan on listening to again after my next Nicaragua rewatch... which needs to happen soon.
2. Dan Rengering - a compelling character, with having lost all that weight and now being a "stud" while still acting like a spoiled brat. Not the most likable guy but certainly entertaining.
3. Dan Kay, Jr. - unquestionably the most likable Dan... but not great TV. Still, RIP.
4. Dan "The Wardog" DeSilva - Very entertaining and a unique type of strategic thinker... but the guy's ego is really off-putting much of the time and this was at times visible in the edit of his season. Still expect we might be seeing him back sometime.
5. Dan Barry - "Psst... I'm an astronaut."
6. Dan Lue - Early out, but somehow more likable than... certain others.
7. Danny "GC" Brown - A twit who should never have been out there. He was not mature enough nor was he equipped to handle it all. Even so, he was one of the key cogs in the beautiful trainwreck that was Gabon, so I'll give him that.
8. Dan Foley - He's not a horrible person so much as he is a socially clueless dumbass who was trying to be funny, but only ended up being offensive. Guy's the least mature person over 45 the show's ever had.
9. Feely Dan Spilo - Fuck this guy.

Tommy IS good, though. Being a good Survivor player is wholly separate from being good TV. Tommy is a good Survivor player, but he's probably the most boring contestant the show's ever had. And from what I've seen on social media... it's the edit's fault. Tommy is a LOT more likable than the edit is letting on, and he actually has a pretty good sense of humor. I don't know why we're not seeing it, unless that humor doesn't translate well to confessionals or something.

Cambodia was natural. The replications are not. Production's attempts to replicate what made Cambodia great have failed to give those seasons their own identities. Except for David vs. Goliath.

That's a major reason why Chris was my least favorite character that season, because of the smug certainty that it was all Adam's doing that Ken and Hannah voted out David.

It was a certainty because Adam was the one who'd been trying to get David out since F7. The way Adam played the jury so they'd credit David's eventual elimination to him was great gameplay.

I too have a problem with the increasingly soulless nature of this show. I enjoyed Cambodia a hell of a lot, but the show's synthetic attempts to replicate it make any subsequent season not called David vs. Goliath (which was an accident) feel artificial. I'm tired of that.

I'm also tired of the terribly repetitive challenges. Like this week's felt way too much like last week's. Given all of this, I'm really resigning myself to that Survivor will never be what it once was, and I'm strongly thinking that S40 will be what I consider the end.

That was such a great episode but then Tribal happened and now I don't quite think it was great. Still going to remember that amazing reward challenge and Noura's rant. Both were something.

Dean is a tool. He had something. He blew it. Again. All he had to do was stick to the plan and get rid of Tommy, then he could afford to get rid of Noura next using the other three Vokai. He'd have power when he needed it. But nope. I was so hoping to see one of that arrogant trio get theirs but nope. Tommy is certainly winning this now, and I don't think I will remember this season very fondly.

Yes, that she wasn't getting votes is disheartening for me after all the effort I put in, but thinking about that made me realize where my heart truly was and that's in that project, not this one. If that makes sense.

This isn't taking off like I thought it would, and I have to say my interest in hosting it is pretty dang low right now. Bub: Low Fodder. A few people will have nostalgia for his game, but nobody's really going to care until the sequel comes out next year. He got second-to-last in his poll in the 2010 vote-ins, with his only actual contest appearance being a respectable showing against DK in 2002. The fact that he hasn't made a bracket since is telling.

Warrior of Light: High Fodder. OG FF game helps his case quite a bit. All the Final Fantasy fanboys will vote for him against anyone they've never heard of, just because it says he's from Final Fantasy I. That's plenty of votes, so it means Fodder Line at absolute best. I don't see him winning more than one match in any contest.

Sackboy: Low Fodder. I mean, sure, 10% on Snake, Wesker, and Vivi in his debut isn't terrible, and 35% on Leon after beating Kratos A in 2010 is pretty respectable, but I don't see any chance for him to advance again. I mean, he got less than half of Marston's votes in 2013 in a threepack against Zelda. He's faded into obscurity, even if his design is very memorable, and I see that as the only thing that will help him. He can only beat Low Fodder at this rate, and he could barely make Mid, maybe.

A suggestion just occurred to me. Is there a local "SOS" service, through a local radio station or newspaper or something? Some places have one of those that play hardball with the company who wronged a customer such as yourself - i.e. "Pay us $257 in overages that we never let you know about" or "You charged me $122 for a plane ticket that I canceled instead of the $15 cancellation fee."

Do you think somebody who has a lot of experience navigating these situations can help?

The Wardog theory is only because The Wardog himself said somebody in casting would fall on their sword for him. It's uncertain if that was Lynne, Caitlin, Jesse (who is now co-director with Probst), or... whoever the other associates are these days. If it was Lynne, I don't know why they'd fire her over that. Because Wardog WAS an interesting character.

It's entirely possible that she staked her job on someone who didn't pan out, such as Wimpy, Chris, Eric, or Julia. Of those, Wimpy and Eric were probably the least likely to be cast. It's also possible that she didn't stake her job at all and simply chose to move in another direction due to growing conflicts (i.e. Lynne unforgivably not wanting Angelina because she's under 30 y/o and married).

Also, I didn't say that Feely Dan was what caused Lynne's downfall. I simply said that his casting is her fault.

Rudolph should be fined for misconduct. Garrett should be arrested and banned for life. That was Burfict levels of thuggery. It was the worst fight I've ever seen in football, though it most definitely wasn't Malice at the Palace level, but that was because there weren't drunk fans at point-blank range to provoke someone like Metta World Peace.

The best way to get out of a ticket is to own that you were speeding and tell the cop you know you're getting a ticket - while being respectful. This challenges the cop's ego in such a way that, to have control of the situation, they'll let you off the hook.

This is what I was trained to do, but thankfully I've yet to be pulled over. Knock on wood.

Strangely enough the big casting director for Survivor, Lynne Spillman, wasn't brought on to cast S39 - she was let go after S38.

Not sure what that means but it's interesting to note!

Rumors I've heard indicate that Lynne cast Feely Dan for EOE, but he injured himself a few days before flying out and he was replaced, probably with Ron.

I too am thinking that S40 is to be the final season. I have a feeling a lot of people are in that boat and ratings will plummet unless S41 is actually something good.

"Hello hello! That's me! Artemis! I might seem like an adorable little pup, but I've got this really cool power that lets me grow huge and crush all of the bad guys that get in my way! Right now, my friends and I are trying to bring Gotham back together after it has turned into a pretty big mess. Along with being able to grow big, I've also got the ability to speak so that's probably why this uh... little message thing I'm making for you all isn't just in barks, haha. Luckily, I'm still able to communicate with my animal friends. Patch and Isis are my closest friends and I would do anything to protect them. When I'm not running around Gotham with my friends and trying to put it back together, some of the things I enjoy are dancing and performing! I would really love one day to own a little theater where I can perform for people and make them applaud for me. If you bring me eggs to eat, I will love you forever.

The Basics
- Artemis is a one and a half year old Pomeranian Mix
- His normal size is about a foot and a half tall, roughly weighing about 15-20 pounds
- Due to his powers, he can grow up to 10 feet tall currently but one of his most common forms while walking around is his wolf sized form which is about 3 and a half feet tall, roughly 150 pounds.

Some backstory:

Artemis as a young pup was taken away to a laboratory owned by Kirk Langstrom, better known as Man-Bat. There he was tortured and tested on day after day, along with many other animals and creatures. Unlike many of the others that had been brought in, Artemis managed to survive these tests and eventually found that he had these new powers. One of being able to grow to a much bigger size, and the other, to be able to communicate using the English language. He eventually was able to escape Kirk's grasp but had to abandon the friends and family he had made while he was confined there. He made new friends after becoming part of a group that would one day set out to bring Gotham together... but they were mostly all humans... something he probably won't ever be able to be entirely comfortable with.

Later on, as Artemis and his friends start to piece Gotham back together, they were able to locate some of Artemis's closest friends in another laboratory. While both Isis and Nina were alive to be rescued, many of the others that he had known and grown up with had perished.

Not too long after, Artemis met up with Patch, a rat who had also escaped the lab but had returned to Artemis to tell them where Isis and Nina were located. While Artemis did indeed have human friends, there was no way that any of those relationships would be as strong as the ones with his animal friends.

Artemis began to quickly realize that while he could be friendly with humans, his trust in them was ever fleeting. There is something in his mind that will not allow him to trust them completely. Artemis doesn't understand that he has a pretty serious case of PTSD due to most of his life being confined in a cage and tortured by humans.

While out and about, Artemis will often put on a facade to appear always happy and helpful. He doesn't want to risk upsetting his human friends for fear that they will abandon him or worse. He will try and avoid human conflict and drama at all costs because of this.

"What am I doing with a surfboard? Please. Just because I'm pretty and popular, it doesn't mean I can't surf. It's not just for lazy stoners, you know. I happen to be the sixth ranked female surfer in the world under 21, and I won't stop until I'm the best on Earth, period. Surfing helps me relax, which I need, since there's a lot of things in life that stress me out. My parents tried the whole 'tiger mom' thing with me until I got to high school and they realized it was driving me crazy... then they started pushing me too far in the other direction, always trying to get me to slow down and have fun, which is sometimes just as bad! And don't get me started on my friends... I mean, I love them, but sometimes it gets frustrating when they're not as focused on winning as I am! I guess that's on me though, and I really am working on it. Yoga helps, and there's nothing like going out to the beach and finding a nice quiet spot to sit down, close my eyes, and listen to the waves. Maybe I'll hop on my board and catch one... there's always time to practice for my next competition."

-Learned to surf when she was nine, and continued doing it ever since, mostly as a hobby to relieve stress, but also because she was good at it and enjoys being good at things. She's also skilled in other extreme sports which she regularly competes in with her friends. She's very athletic, probably the best pure athlete in her group, though her best friend (who she loves dearly but argues with all the time) is still a better skateboarder than her.
-Was the "queen bee" of her middle school and quite popular in high school. She's still a bit stuck up, but is working on improving herself, and meditates to help with this.
-She's a perfectionist who tends to fixate on certain flaws, sometimes in others, but especially in herself. This can lead to bouts of deep regret over people she's hurt in the past during some of her meaner episodes, and episodes of intense self-loathing. She's the kind of person who tends to avoid apologizing when she should, and then over-apologizes later on.

Green Goblin: Mid Fodder. "'cause he's wearing that dumb Power Rangers mask - but he's scarier without it on." Yeah, a Spider-Man villain isn't going to amount to much. Nobody really cares for Spider-Man antagonists the way they do for Batman nemeses, so he's naturally among the weakest of those.

Toon Link: Elite. May be the Saturday Morning version, but he's still Link. He's not going to beat Link Link, but he'll still be able to beat Solid Snake or Mega Man.

Olimar: Mid Fodder. His prior matches corroborate this. He's in Smash, so by rule he can't be Low Fodder because of recognition, so yeah.
