1. I don't hate Heidi; I hate her edit. That's why she's low on my list. Her story made no sense for a runner-up. Way to jump to conclusions, Naye. I agree that the editing this season was off, of course, and Heidi was a big part of that (mad respect to her for pulling off the Underwood Gambit successfully).
2. Knew about Bruce (and thought I said that), but good to know that was in the trailer.
3. I agree with Inviso's approximate placement of this season (the rest of the list is another story)
4. Sia has a face? Though I am happy for Carolyn to get that award - she earned it.

Lame that Heidi beat Carolyn

I hope all that cheering for Heidi isn't a sign of what's to come.

legitimately terrified of this FTC, I'm not going to pull the "if x wins I'm going to stop watching Survivor" but wow if Carolyn doesn't win, it'll land in top 5 worst finale/season outcomes for me.

Honestly, if Heidi goes to FMC and loses, that would be an amazing end to the story of someone flopping every time she tries to make a big move.

when I tuned in, each player was going through their list of accomplishments/why they think they'll win (in the course of their failed idol hunt). And like... that's it I think. Carson wins challenge since it was a puzzle (literally the puzzle they showed him doing when he first brought up how he 3D printed puzzles iirc)

So this is the point where it turns out Lauren was a big threat all along to justify her boot at the final 5?

So glad we're getting a 5 minute idol scramble in the finale instead of, you know Rites of Passage or something like that

Then F4 is tougher. I wanna say Carolyn wins immunity, but that might be wishful thinking. I'll still say it. Carolyn wins F4 immunity and sends Carson/Heidi to make fire. Heidi wins!

F3 is Carolyn/Yam Yam/Heidi, and it's a close vote between Carolyn and Yam Yam, but she wins out in the end.

• Relieved that Carolyn was okay - I legit thought she was done, and so did she after Carson's "break up" comment set off alarm bells. He will tell her he needed her to react shocked, because...
• Everyone knew Jaime had an idol, even though she didn't, and he didn't want her playing it. If Carolyn doesn't react naturally to those comments, Jaime plays it.
• Yam-Yam was stupid to think he should turn on Carolyn now, because if he did that, he set up the very likely possibility of Jaime, Lauren, and Heidi teaming up against him and Carson. They would realize they had to work together to take out the two guys who were the biggest threats.
• The "start over" thing at F5 is so dumb, and Jeff should know that now that this cast knew exactly what to expect after three seasons of it. Jeff also needs to realize that when you DM, you need to not run the same campaign over and over and over, because players figure you out. Change it up a little!
• Heidi wasted her idol. Best move would've been to vote for Carolyn and play the idol on herself, thus eliminating Carolyn because the guys flip. Jaime gets safety for a rock draw and Carson and Yam-Yam would never be the only two drawing rocks.
• Carolyn or Carson is winning this. I don't see Yam-Yam winning after tonight. We already knew Lauren and Heidi had zero shot.

Probably getting Culver's tonight lol.

That's my point - you can't have a focus on players and let them breathe when there's 18 brand new characters.

Amazing Tribal. Great episode overall, thanks to Carolyn and Danny. But especially Carolyn.

Sucks that Carolyn wasted her idol, but she had no way of knowing that Jaime and Lauren were going to throw their games away.

Does Danny have an idol? I forget.

this SHOULD be a good thing, given that there's no sign the advantages and twists are going to be going away - this will give us more time for character development and camp stories to fill the gaps in that we lose from all the extra twists. but...we'll see how the time ends up being spent.

• Heidi is smart to blame Frannie, who's busy doing it with Matt at Ponderosa. She's also smart to not tell a soul about her idol.
• Heidi getting the intro package now makes me think she's going home with that idol in her bag though
• Carolyn being a nuclear bomb is natural. Yam-Yam and Carson were idiots to insist on having that conversation right away, and should have said "We will talk in the morning." I also think they should have told Carolyn last minute about the plan since they don't know she has the Tika idol.
• Yam-Yam telling Danny is also a bad idea, since it makes it clear that Yam-Yam is a shit-stirrer, and establishes Tika as a threatening threesome. They really need to try to play both sides for one more round before blowing anything up, so it'll be 3-3.
• Carolyn. That is all.

I'm really liking this episode. This is how you make strategy FUN, by tying it into people's personalities. Carolyn loves Frannie, so she's a roadblock to taking Frannie out. Jaime thinks she's a much bigger player than she is, and she's getting eaten alive by a shark like Danny. It's just fun.
