Right now AI and drones technology are being developed concurrently, so you don't even need a human remote operator which addresses the modern enlistment issues.

Regarding Iran's drones, that was a complete joke of an attack. Israel would be silly to retaliate against such a pitiful attack that caused no casualties. That said, if Israel does retaliate we'll really see how pathetic Iran's offensive military strength is.

This is the wrong choice.

The D&D IP is just generic vanilla fantasy, a lot of opportunity to make something better.

If you shower daily, eat healthy, and don't sweat by just standing around then no you don't need deodorant.

If the game isn't political, I.e. Mass Effect, Cyberpunk, Elden Ring then it's not fun nor is it a good game.

I'm sensing an overall theme where you seem to enjoy movies/shows catered towards a younger audience, that said there's nothing wrong with that.

Dube 2000 > Dune Spice Wars.

Spice wars is Unity quality and no narrative at all. 2000 has Horse Ordos and pretty solid acting for its time.

No it does not, not for a category rating an animated film on it's whole.

It needs to be the entire package similar to Arcane or any Ghibili film, visually stunning, well acted, well written, etc. Spiderverse is severely lacking in almost every category.

Spiderverse is a glorified kids cartoon. There is no depth to it, it's unworthy of a nomination tbh.

Did the movie itself go into any of this? From what I remember it does the usual Japanese pop culture thing of ignoring all context about why foreign nations might be bombing innocent civilians.

There's very subtle hints, and the movie does paint Imperial Japan and the citizens that support it in a very bad light.

Of the list I've only seen Oppenheimer and Past Lives.

Past Lives gets my vote.

Why would you be sad? Most have made millions and are set for life.

Cyberpunk on Netflix by Trigger is kind of a 1980s anime (since the original setting is from a 1980s cyberpunk RPG).

Yes, Cyberpunk Edgerunners is one of my favourites, really well done.

But even then it's missing some of that 80's style.

Akira came out the same year....

Just finished Akira... what a trip.

Overall I do think Grave of the Fireflies was a better and more impactful movie, but Akira was amazing as well. Felt sorry for Kaori, but she didn't have enough character development time for me to care as much as I did for Setsuko.

We need 1980's anime to make a resurgence.

Man, almost one day later and I'm still impacted and sad about this movie.

Also, reading up on the source of the movie is even more harrowing what the author went through, I'm paraphrasing but the author lose two younger sisters to malnutrition, and Seita is the selfless image that he wish he had been.
