youll always find a subset of people cheering it on, no one here ITT has done so; the only positions taken by people here is that a defense from Iran is understandable given the circumstances, given Israel assassinated Iranian army staff on foreign soil. Subsets if the Israeli populace are hardly innocent, when it comes to cheering on the genocide of Palestinians. Heck they even have songs with little kids promoting it. If youre going to criticize one side at least extend it over to the other side.

The Israelis are free to take out the Iranian assets, just not while they're inside an embassy.

Speaking of which, plenty of people in the West like to pretend that the conflict only started in 2023 and not 1948.

Not cheering them on, however as Israel would say "they have a right to defend themselves". I just hope Iran's interpretation of that statement isn't the same as Israel's, cause I'm not down to see 33k dead Israelis.

In a broad sense, there are two types of nations in the Middle East. Stable nations with functional economies who collaborate with the international community. This is your Saudi Arabias, Israels, Iraqs, Qatars, Omans, ect.

Then there are you broken states run by fundamentalist military juntas or terrorist organizations. They have nearly non-existant economies and their only significant interactions with the international communities is exporting raw resources and taking international aid. This is your Yemens, Syrias, Jordans, ect.

Essentially every stable country hates Iran, and every broken country works with Iran. This is because Iran has been funnelling tons of weapons, ammo, and military advisors into the hands of the absolute worst actors in basically every cobflict zone in the Middle East, including Hezbollah and Hamas, which is directly relevant to Israel. Iran is an enemy to stability and peace in the region. There is simply no other way to put it.

Iran has essentially been firing rockets into Israel for literal decades now. Think of all the Israeli deaths that Iran is directly responsible for over the years. If there was no Iran, there would be no massive Hamas terrorist attack. They would not have had the weapons and training necessary to embolden them so, and the likely explicit backing of Iran behind the scenes. While I fundamentally disagree with Israel's approach to Palestine, it is utterly absurd and hypocritical to look at this situation and say "Well, Israel should have just not provoked Iran!"

*Saudi Arabia is as religiously fundamentalist as Iran, and they have their blood on their hands, from the failed war in Yemen to being behind the various Islamist terror groups in Syria, to chopping up one of their dissidents into pieces. But hey, since they have oil, the Western media depicts them as "reforming".
*Qatar meanwhile hosts Hamas and even has great relations with Iran. But since they host the US military, that's apparently okay.
