Alright I was able to clear the Party Animal sidequest by using Brumal Yuffie exploit. The double joker + toad fight was still ridiculous

Rufus was so goddamn hard and felt so much relief when it was over.

Oh I made it to the Brutal Challenge with the worms. Lose a party member and it's over. I would have prefered if they just split up the 10 rounds into two challenges of 5.

The wolf if you have at least level 2 Elemental is not too bad.

But the Mandragoras lmao they can easily deter anyone from going through with hard mode. But it's very much an outlier with how bs it is.

Junon Roche took me a good 4 tries. Zolomy is also very dangerous. The first side quest in the Grasslands for the Ranch girl is stupidly overtuned. From the boat ride until Gold Saucer is then pretty smooth sailing.

Once you reach Dyne though, every boss starts getting extremely punishing. Normal battles should never be a major issue, but bosses are a different story.

Oh i can tell you Dynamic is no indication at all about how tough a fight will be on Hard. Rufus will prob be stressful cus of his phases with and without Dark Nation and the fact you have to do Elena/Rude first without a break in between. Idk where the retry would place you.

Holy crap the boss of Chapter 10 was fucking insane on Hard Mode. Like you really need to master Red and dodging that grip move.

Yeah, jrpgs love making their final dungeons so fucking long. Hojo's lab in Remake also had complaints.

At least in Rebirth the mural part was done really well.

The point is that would also apply if Rebirth final boss is so good that only Honeybee inn is better. Cus I agree Wall Market is the peak of both games.

My only issue with the final Chapter is Zack. And I have no problems with the gameplay of the final boss rush, but I am also someone that would swap party constantly throughout the game and had everyone with decent builds. I know some people for example didn't bother giving stuff back to Cait, or they unequipped Aerith.

I'm back on the Episode Yuffie DLC in Remake! I rescued Zhijie and next we're headed for Shinra HQ, so we'll see how that goes!

I also decided to give Fort Condor another shot, and with the help of the Assassin Board III (which has 10 starting ATB units and a speed of 3), I've managed to make it up to Level 4, which appears to be the top level and all that's left is the Grandmaster. I still feel kinda like I get lucky to win, but hey, I'll take it!

I've been going through Hard Mode getting all manuscripts and leveling up as much materia as possible before trying Brutal cus yeah, I am worried how much time they'll waste. Won't bother me as much if everything else in the game is done.

Inazuma cast are always the best part of events.

NG+ let's you go straight to the Skywheel after checking in at the hotel. Not on NG though. You gotta go everywhere. And the 3D Brawler with Dio at the entrance and the Chocobo race are unavoidable.

NG+ also skips Corel Prison missions to go straight to the race.

Yeah, you'll play almost all the minigames once. Only Queen's Blood is not forced.

PS5 is just struggling to sell on jp so it has that when compared to Remake.

Gongaga was actually my favorite region to explore precisely cus it wasn't big empty space. Going on foot makes for better exploration imo. Being more vertical, having to look for landmarks, the palette, the ambience, the music, I loved it.

Is this like way more gameplay than story than 13 Sentinels?

Up to Corel hard mode. And somehow the sidequests in the Grasslands have been the most difficult fights so far. One of them was just unfair.

Hard mode playhrough finally switched to Graphics mode and yeah... It feels at first like the game is struggling. Like things are in slow motion. Very jarring that almost makes me want to switch back to performance mode. However once I got used to it, it just looks A LOT better. Very noticeable difference in quality. It's great so I'm sticking with Graphics.

My Sparkle is 142 spd, 190% Crit DMG, 31% Eff Res. Using Dance Dance Dance.

I don't wanna keep farming for more spd. Feels like it would take ages to get something better.

Doing Hard Mode run now. The relief I feel that World Intel and mini-games are done forever and I can just focus on story and side quests with teleports unlocked is probably telling that maybe the game is a bit bloated with checklists. Enjoying hard mode playthrough so much more without them.

I am confused. The game tells you "Land here? You will not be able to return after landing" and it's true. Unless you specifically mean you're locked out of cait sith without warning, then yeah.

How do you do it with Cloud/Tifa?

Cloud has abilities like triple slash on aerial enemies. You can also dodge and press square to shoot projectiles, or dodge and hold square to get him airborne. He also has synergy skills with Barret and Red for ranged attacks.

Tifa's synergy skills are all about party members throwing her in the air whenever and she can stay in the air attacking for a while. Reverse Gale from the ground also works on some enemies.

I wanna say Tifa is gonna have a harder time fixing this Cloud's mind than she did in the og xD Everyone is grieveing and Cloud is smiling. In his head Aerith is fine somewhere, or he's fine cus he was able to say goodbye to her or whatever, and it will add to that disconnect with the party. Yo Cloud why aren't you sad like the rest of us? Are you really an emotionless puppet? Etc etc.

The fact that there is an ng+ option to just cut out Zack's story is so funny to me. True, it doesn't really have gameplay so it saves time, but it it's like they're telling me it doesn't matter. And you know what? On a replay just for the story, I would not mind acting like it doesn't exist.

So if I wanna finish up the final protorelic, and all minigame rewards, do I just pick Chapter 12? Do I have to progress all the way to beating Rufus to be in the state of everything unlocked?

I was surprised it didn't go off the rails. Ended up feeling like the whole Zack timeline thing was mostly a contrievance to have Zack/Cloud dual techs possible. And I guess to learn his fate is getting shot down by shinra troops no matter what.

Game beated. Hard to describe what I'm feeling. A bit confused, a bit relieved. But it was a super fun ride.

Oh and I beat the final opponent in Queen's Blood. It's such a gimmicky fight. But there are 4 cards that will carry you.

Have 2 Rictus, a Chimera and Gi Nattak. Try to have at least 1 Rictus and Chimera on your opening hand and start with Rictus at the top of first column, Chimera on the middle, and the other Rictus at the bottom. Then the Shadowqueen's shennaingans will buff these three cards so much.keep playing until the opponent starts running out of space to screw you over. Doesn't really matter how many more tiles you win. Then you just end it by playing Gi Nattak on the Chimera's tile.

Chapter 12. The wait was worth it.
Cleaned up sidequests and then proceeded to the date with Tifa. This was the peak for me. Everything they recreated was perfect and enhanced in every way. They nailed the characters and the ferris wheel was as cute and awkward as it should have been. There's no way I could ever rate this lower than Remake or the original after this. I am dying to see how the other dates go.
