Here's how the scam works with retro games.

(1. Go to all the stores and conventions. Buy up all the old original boxed Super Mario Bros games for the NES. Also buy a ton of other retro games but make sure you own all copies of the Super Mario Bros. Do this quietly for several months.

(2. Once this is done, plant a bunch of paid articles and TV spots on the local news about how boxed Mario Bros is going for thousands of dollars. Pretend that you are a multimillionaire who collects games and also owns a collection worth millions. You can rent an apartment in LA and take pictures in front of a phony private plane.

(3. Put an unboxed Super Mario Bros up for auction at an auction house. Make sure no one knows that the appraiser who appraised it as being worth a million dollars works for you. Hire another accomplice to buy the game for a million of your dollars.

(4. Plant paid news stories and TV spots about how a Super Mario Bros game went for a million dollars. Reiterate that games are big business collectibles you can get rich on.

(5. Promote your appraisal business and sell your cornered surplus of video game carts for three times the amount with the promise that if you hold onto it, it will go up in value and you can become rich.

(6. Hope that you sell your inventory before the suckers realize the games they bought are worth nothing and that everyone involved actually works for you.

You then have to protect the engineer against an enemy Zerg rush as they slowly repair each generator. If they reach the engineer, you have to start all over again and all the generators spawn in new random locations.

Beanie Babies saw the 80s comics inflation and was like "what a foolproof plan"

The comic book boom was originally a pump and dump scam masterminded by three con artists. These same conmen are now doing the same thing with retro videogames. It's destroying the hobby for actual retro gamers who have to deal with artificial scarcity and artificially inflated prices. An unopened Super Mario Bros cartridge is not worth a million dollars.

In the bad old days before the 90s, cheap fly-by-nights American companies like ADVision would own distribution rights and so handle dubbing on the cheap. They would do this by hiring scabs with no experience to voice act. Most often these were just friends of theirs or employees from other departments.

I heard one story about a distributor who would get laid by trawling Brucie-cons and offering fan girls voice acting jobs.

Caramel goes great with either banana or carrot. Personally, I'd use the honey for the cake and then pair it with the salted caramel buttercream.

Anyway, these are the flavors I found that go well with caramel:

Banana
Carrot
Pumpkin, Sweet Potato, Yams, Butternut Squash
Ginger
Orange (as in Crepe Suzette)
Lemon
Apples
Peach
Apricot
Pears
Pineapple
Blackberry
Cornbread, Popped Corn
Chocolate (Chocolate + Caramel = Fudge)
Coffee (Caramel Macchiato)
White Chocolate
Hazelnut (Hazelnut Praline), Almond (Almond Rocca Praline), Pecan (New Orleans Praline)
Peanut (Peanut Brittle - I got the flavor by mixing caramel with peanut butter)
Pistachio
Coconut
Oatmeal
Rum
Bourbon Whiskey

How do they determine who is disabled? That should be determined by a doctor, not an over-worked minimum wage employee. Certainly they should at least ask for paperwork.

This reminds me of the guy with a disability who was beaten up for taking a handicapped parking spot. The guy who beat him up thought he was faking it after the victim stood up out of his wheelchair. The victim had a respiratory problem that made it difficult to walk a few steps without getting badly winded which was why his doctor provided a wheelchair.

Pinwheel.

To be fair with Pinwheel, this was literally Nickelodeon's first show going back to the late 70s. The entire channel was built around it by extending the show to a children's block, and then from a children's block to a full blown channel.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MLCg1kb1sA0

Pinwheel was very much patterned after Sesame Street down to the shorts and the live action actors interacting with puppets. I remember this French short called Chapi Chapo they'd show a lot of.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JDpQfZqHD3A

For the longest time back in the 80s they would show long blocks of Pinwheel before the afternoon shows came on.

yeah, moon/equinox stuff aside it doesn't really make sense for Christmas to be a fixed date and Easter to be variable. If Christmas was also somehow tied to moon phase and the winter solstice, I wouldn't be mad.

Christmas is tied to this pagan Greco-Roman belief that all great men die nine months before their birthday. Since it was well known that Jesus died during Passover, the Church fathers reasoned that he had to have been born in December or January. The Orthodox Church went with January 7th while the Roman Church went with December 25th.

Why Easter follows the lunar calendar, I cannot say. I have a theory that Gentile Christians did it to spite the Jewish Christians who still celebrated Passover.

Their choice to use the word balance was probably a mistake because it often leads to this misunderstanding, but this is what Lucas intended the lore to be.

IIRC it's due to the EU novels and how writers (influenced by fandom) treated the force like the Eastern concept of Yin and Yang by introducing grey jedi.

Lucas rarely dealt with the EU, but when he learned about why grey jedi existed, he forced subsequent writers to retcon the Yin-Yang Force as being wrong. Nearly every grey jedi introduced in the EU has fallen to the Dark Side to drive that point home. It pissed off several EU fans who liked the concept of the Dark Side not being inherently evil.

It's interesting that Disney seems to be going with the Yin-Yang Force idea. It must drive Lucas crazy.
