Yeah I keep seeing people have this take where they claim because you're allowed to have rules on what you can say at a private venue it made censorship socially acceptable even though it's literally always been that way.

Either way the texts is contradictory saying Israel should be abolished then going on to say both isralites and palestinians can live together.

And you say its a jump but to abolish israel wouldn't happen unless they lose some war and are either all forced to leave or destroyed.

As for the apartheid the lines were drawn in other conflicts such as when they fought off the british and officially claimed the land as far as i know and their differences werw never settled. I think this is very different from africa apparteid.

Eh neither side got what they fully wanted and both sides got something. Its the dictionary definition of compromise.

An actual genocide is already occurring in the current solution. The thing she allegedly liked on social media is saying Israel as an apartheid state should be abolished, ie Israelis and Palestinians should all have the same rights in the area under one secular state. Obviously that's not easy to accomplish, but again, the current system is a genocidal one, so acting like she's the one advocating for genocide by allegedly liking that post is rich.

I dont know what she liked on there but in my link it says she has something in her profile that has been there for 5 years and is still there now. She didnt clarify her stance on this abolishment of israel. And israel woild never agree to that.

While israel has people calling for genocide hamas is the only one who has officially made it their mantra. And if the AI direction of the targets and bombings is true they have adopted technology that should be banned. There is so much more to what is going on than some blanket genocide here.

And neither side is going to agree to both states being abolished i still think the two state solution is the only thing possible but there is no viable leadership on the side of Palestine is the big hurdle they are talking about. Which will leave this is chaos.

She did not write either of these and the one in her profile has been there for five years and explains that the anolishment is liberation for Palestine and complete abolishment for israel. Liberation would mean Palestine would be the only state left.....not what you are saying:

Over the past several days, discussion relating to the selection of our valedictorian has taken on an alarming tenor, USC Provost Andrew Guzman said in an online campus-wide letter.

I thought valedictorian was an earned rank, and not a selected honor?

Yeah they're the ones being disingenuous. Even without that clause, it should be clear that "abolish Israel" is not at all comparable to supporting genocide.

Ehhh... given how and why Israel was established, to say Israel shouldn't be a state is... kinda genocidal.

Reminder that the majority of our fresh winter produce is grown in northern California. The remainder comes from SoCal, Mexico, or South America (except for tomatoes which are locally grown in greenhouses)

Califormia is also where all of our domestically produced almonds and olives come from, and most of our lemons.
People fail to realize just how big the state of California is. And yes, outside of the coasts, it's pure redneckville.

That's usually what venues and organizers do when a specific person or event is threatened-- they simply cancel the entire event or make it video-only.

There are "universities" that are just excuses for the children of rich foreigners to stay in the United States on student visas. The "students" never attend classes and the actual campuses are just office buildings behind a gate.

It won't change but it doesn't matter. Those areas outside of the major cities are usually very small population wise.
