I would probably go see him if he was performing near me. What he did was kind of creepy and he was in a position of power for sure. He admitted it, said he now understands why and defitenly lost a lot of revenue for it. I don't think what he did is on the level of others like Weinstein who committed heinous acts and I would never support in any way.

I think overall it is subjective for each person, but I do believe people should be able to atone and continue to work. Here the market will now determine for Louis CK.

I think it is worth watching, the last 2 seasons are not that good and they focused on spectacle over story. Some of the spectacle is still entertaining if you don't think about it too much. I highly recommend the books if you are a reader unless all you care about is the ending.

Pourover is more work and makes worse coffee than cold brew imo

I guess it is a personal opinion, but it could be that you are not grinding properly (or with a good grinder) or not using very good coffee. I think cold brew is harder to mess up than a pour over, but nothing really beats a great pour over when done right.

I probably order food/eat out about 3 dinners per week. Both the wife and I work full time 40 hour jobs, and neither of us want to cook something every night and I also like to eat out once on the weekend. Quick meals at home are not necessarily going to be any healthier. Last night I made air fryer chicken nuggets, mashed potatoes and peas (which was not really a quick meal), this is was less healthy than if I went and got a chicken kabob and greek salad (though more healthy then if I got chicken nuggets at a fast food place).

What the fuck does this gibberish even mean? Are you actually trying to say "those two things you're saying are somewhat correlated are happening everywhere so they can't be correlated"? Because that would be an extreeeeemely dumb response and I would laugh loudly in your face if that's what you're trying to say.

If gaming weren't widespread it wouldn't be able to have a large effect like that. Games existed and were popular in the 80s but crime was still pretty high. Then around the early to mid 90s gaming became extremely popular, particularly with young men, and suddenly things that young men like to do such as drink, have sex, and do dumb potentially destructive shit starts to absolutely nosedive. But no, those are both "so widespread" (whatever the fuck that even means in this context) so they can't have any effect on each other.

I'm pretty sure he meant to say not "see something in the correlation."

That said, it is possible. I have seen the passing of roe v. wade as a big reason from the decrease of crime, which makes sense to me. Video games may have played a part as well. Although, I knew a lot of kids who used to steal video games, maybe if they didn't go play them afterwards they would be committing other crimes, lol.

"Learning a new language, joining a club, building something, carving something, etc. -- are probably better ways to spend your time"

My question is why? Why is this necessarily a better way to spend your time. You may be learning a new skill or meeting some, but that doesn't mean it will have net positive on your life or that you will have any useful application of the new skill or social interaction, other than the enjoyment you get out of it... the same as someone playing a game. I like to paint miniatures, that is probably more "productive" than playing a video game, but it doesn't make it a better way to spend my time.

Also, I will say I would probably not have a computer science degree if it was not for video games. Sure, I probably would of gone into another area of study, but it was an inspiration to me to pursue that educational path.

I don't disagree with some of your arguments, but I also don't think video games have made the world a worse place.

I beat the game over the weekend, I did the "true" ending going through the white palace. That place was very rage inducing. I am glad I finished it but it did make me consider saying F it, I will just do the other ending.

I still think the game is not the best Metroidvania, but does belong among the elite. It borderlines on frustrating at times, that takes away some of the enjoyment I get from many other games in the genre. That said I do still think it is an amazing game, with amazing level design, music and atmosphere. I prefer the Ori games, which they can be pretty difficult as well but I never had the same frustration about maybe quitting at times like I did in Hollow Knight. I also prefer Bloodstained, but that is such and ode to what I consider the pinnacle of the genre Symphony of the Night (along with Super Metroid), so it probably resonates to me more than some (I play through SOTN probably once every other year).

I am looking forward to (and dreading) the sequel.

I think you are thinking of the Tulsa race massacre, which I also learned about from the Watchmen tv show (sadly enough). Juneteenth is a different thing, the date where slaves in Texas learned they had been emancipated, something like 2 years after the official emancipation. It has been a bit of a big deal in Texas for awhile so I knew about it. Glad they made an official holiday for it.

I though the Microsoft show was the best with reveals and all the games that will be on game pass day one. I am not even a Halo fan really, but since it will be on game pass I will likely be playing it. Nintendo was okay, the Metroid Dread announcement is very exciting and I can't wait to play BOTW 2. I love Metroidvanias, so Dread is probably the game I will anticipate the most, but I will probably play Horizon 5 more than any other game that comes out this year.

Wait, you think it's overrated but you haven't even gotten past the Mantis Lords yet?

I did the city and got the ground breaker ability and crystal mines area, and some of the resting grounds already. I think I am doing the Mantis Lords a little later than a lot of people do. I missed that area where they are when I went through the first time.

I think it is slightly overrated as I am a huge fan of metroidvanias and this one didn't grab me right away like others, like I said this is my 3rd time starting it. I just don't think it is best modern metroidvania like most people make it out to be. I prefer the Ori games, Bloodstained, and Blasphemous to it (not to mention Super Metroid and SOTN). Maybe I will change my mind when I finish it. It is a great game, don't get me wrong, not trying to slag it, just my opinion.

I am currently playing it as well, my 3rd try at it and I am enjoying it more this time... even though I did quit in anger last night after dying to the Mantis Lords too many times.

Yes, it was a terrible year, probably the worst of my lifetime. It feels like a wasted year to me. Work and financially it was okay for me, I already worked from home most of the time so it was not anything new. I am fairly anti-social, but I enjoy going to concerts a lot and other conventions or festivals throughout the year. The lack of that showed me that I do need those social interactions or it can affect my mental health. I didn't have it nearly as bad as many others, while I missed concerts for example, those bands had a year of their profession basically wasted as far as the way they most often earn a living.

On top of that the politicization of everything including a pandemic just made it worse (speaking of the U.S.). The pandy should of been something that brought us together, but it further divided us.
