'how does the crown fit'

'hmm well i took an xray and it looks fine, come back tomorrow'

I have a healthy fear of them because the one I went to as a kid wouldn't give kids a shot of pillkillers and would only use laughing gas. which didn't work on me. So when I was screaming the bastard would tell my mom "he is just afraid of the noise of the drill"

So yeah, no

they just refuse to listen. i had to yell at my dentist the other day (ive had an ongoing series of dental procedures over the past 2 weeks) because he injected lidocaine and then tried to start drilling on my tooth immediately without giving it time to numb, and wouldnt listen to me when i just tried to politely tell him to wait

Dentist honestly are one of the biggest scam artists. If you brush your teeth at least once a day, there is absolutely no need to ever go see one unless its some type of weird emergency. I havent been to a dentist in nearly 20 years and my teeth are doing just fine.

when i had a filling recently it was similar, but it's understandable (at least for a filling dunno about crowns). having one half of my mouth numb and the other half stretched out by the rubber wedge, it was hard to properly tell which side was higher or lower. they have to err on the side of being able to remove but not being able to add. lots of things feel weird immediately after getting them, but feel fine once you're used to them (a good example is glasses, where my current pair were a shock when I first used them, but now I don't notice it at all).

meanwhile you have a dozen or two cavities that are slowly growing and will destroy half your teeth sooner or later. who knows, but how can you tell without x-rays? (not to mention you can have problems that you don't realize are connected to your teeth, like allergies or headaches or ear problems)

No because I brush my teeth every night for two minutes with an electric toothbrush before bed and often brush them again in the morning after breakfast. If you take care of your teeth yourself, there is no reason why you need to go to the dentist on a regular basis. Dont buy into big dentals propaganda and lies.

dentists are known to create tooth pain using various hexes, in order to lure victims into their lairs

"I see a potentially sensitive spot. Instead of immediately recommending heightened care or measures to improve this spot, I'm going to poke hard, repeatedly, with this metal tool; then have you come in so I can drill the spot into a much larger hole and provide fillings that will cost you more money and mental energy than whatever mouthwash or other means I could have suggested."

"Oh, and by the way, you're probably going to need to come in several more times over the years to have more drilling and reworkings done now that this initial procedure has been done."

I just had a temporary crown put in this morning, will have the permanent crown put on in 3 weeks. This is my first one, it followed a root canal a couple weeks ago. Feels a little weird and sore as hell right now.

get them out if they hurt or if they start pushing against any other teeth

if they feel ok and a dentist doesnt think theyre gonna screw up other teeth then I wouldnt worry about it

You gotta make sure you find a good dentist. If you notice them scheduling lots of procedures or drawing them out, that could be a bad sign. Lots of them perform unnecessary procedures to scam their patients. Or more accurately here, victims. Heres an expos you may be interested in:
