Blount said the biggest place that patients are turned away is in the ICU because of the special skill set that is required to work in that department and also the limited number of patients that can be cared for at a time because of the acuity level.

In efforts to find other beds for ICU patients, local hospitals have had to look well beyond Mid-Missouri to find an ICU bed for someone. Blount said sometimes this means St. Louis or Kansas City, but depending on their occupancy, other times this has meant Illinois, Iowa or Kansas.

Like other hospitals in the Kansas City region, the University of Kansas Health System is turning down transfer patients because its beds are full, setting up a potential crisis, its chief medical officer said Wednesday.

I go back and forth between Sunshine and Odyssey as my favorite. They have both a good upbeat energy to the character movement and level design, that doesn't really get talked about enough.

Galaxy feels they dialed the energy way back, it's got that slow lullaby quality to a lot of the music. I always want to go sleep after like an hour of playing it.
The fluidity of Mario's movement in Sunshine is just so great. They matched it in Odyssey, but that game is so much less demanding when it comes to making use of the moveset available to you

The Biden administration is expected to announce a new action to limit housing evictions, moving swiftly after intense pressure from liberal House Democrats, according to three people aware of the matter.

The exact details of the measure were not clear, the people said. The people spoke on the condition of anonymity to reflect a matter not yet made public.

The congressional pressure campaign intensified in recent days after a national eviction moratorium created by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention expired at the end of July. The Biden administration has repeatedly insisted that it lacked the legal authority to renew that program. However, the delta variant has renewed concerns about the impact of the expiring moratorium on millions of renters and White House officials have explored other options.

The CDC did not immediately respond to a request for comment. A White House spokeswoman also declined to comment.

The rift between the White House and House Democrats over the expiration of the eviction moratorium escalated on Tuesday as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) ruled out bringing lawmakers back from their recess to address the issue through new legislation.

On a private call with Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and House Democrats, Pelosi said the consensus of the caucus was that the House should not come back from its recess and that lawmakers should focus on urging the Biden administration to extend the moratorium unilaterally, two people familiar with the conversation said. The people spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe a discussion that was meant to remain private.

The Biden administration has said it does not have the legal authority to extend the CDC moratorium, and pushed Congress to pass an extension. But even if an extension were to pass the House, the measure is almost certain to fail in the Senate, given that Democrats would need 10 Senate Republicans to support the effort to overcome the filibuster. Republicans are expected to uniformly oppose extending the moratorium.

The expiration of the moratorium has put millions of primarily poor renters at risk of eviction while opening up a rare public clash between the White House and its congressional Democratic allies. Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.), chair of the Financial Services Committee, joined Rep. Cori Bush (D-Mo.) and others in the Tuesday call in asking the Biden administration to extend the moratorium, the people familiar with the conversations said.

Also on the call, Yellen fielded lawmakers questions about delays in disbursing more than $46 billion in emergency rental assistance approved by Congress. Despite the expiration of the moratorium over the weekend, the Treasury Department has struggled to get funding out the door to renters in need with recent administration estimates suggesting only a fraction of it has been released.

Data from Moodys has shown more than six million Americans are behind on rent, and local housing organizers fear an uptick in eviction proceedings as the moratorium lapses.

Those animosities are releasing frustrations within the party that President Biden has largely kept in check until now. To liberals, preventing evictions is what the party is all about helping the disadvantaged when they face daunting odds. For centrists, however, that sort of extended government intervention in the marketplace is economically unwise and politically perilous.

White House official Gene Sperling told reporters on Monday that the administration was pushing state and local officials to enact their own eviction moratoriums, as well as pushing federal agencies such as the Agriculture Department to extend eviction moratoriums where possible. Sperling also announced an all-agency review to learn why state and local governments are not getting funding out.
...
Pelosi on Monday reiterated in a letter that she believes the moratorium should be extended unilaterally.

We will not relent until families and landlords have been protected from this crisis, Pelosi said.

The House adjourned on Friday for a six-week vacation after trying and failing to approve the moratorium through unanimous consent, a process that allows any one member of the House to defeat the attempt.

How quickly does this escalate to someone(s) becoming belligerent and possibly violent because they can't get into a place?
Buddy, they got belligerent and violent against workers enforcing mask mandates. But not having rules because people might get angry about them is not a preferable path.

https://www.cnbc.com/2021/08/03/ny-gov-andrew-cuomo-sexual-harassment-report.html
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo sexually harassed multiple women and then retaliated against a former employee who complained publicly about his conduct, according to a bombshell report that will be released Tuesday by state Attorney General Letitia James.

James report will also say that Cuomos office was riddled with fear and intimidation, and was a hostile work environment for many staffers.

The monthslong probe concluded that Cuomo sexually harassed multiple women, and in doing so violated federal and state law, James said at a press conference Tuesday morning.

The announcement came about two weeks after Cuomo was interviewed by investigators retained by James office for the probe. Cuomo was reportedly questioned for 11 hours.

The probe into numerous womens allegations of sexual harassment by Cuomo began in March, after the states executive chamber granted James request to investigate.

Later that same month, dozens of Democratic state lawmakers including New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, with whom Cuomo has long had a fraught relationship urged the governor to resign.

New York Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie, also a Democrat, in mid-March authorized a panel to launch an impeachment investigation into the harassment claims and other allegations of wrongdoing by Cuomo, including whether his staff tried to hide or alter data on coronavirus deaths in New York nursing homes.
